- My test ride and review of the 2015 Star Stryker Bullet Cowl cruiser motorcycle. I ride the bike through the city and on the freeway and give my thoughts and impressions.
From Yamaha's website "NEW FOR 2015! Stryker Bullet Cowl offers a tougher look and excellent wind protection.
The look reinterprets classic custom “chopper” styling for an aggressive feel. High-end looks without the high-end price tag.
Gutsy 80cu in , 1304cc, fuel-injected liquid-cooled V-Twin engine churns out the inspired, big-engine feel riders will love.
Even with its radically raked out front end, Stryker has the superbly nimble and lightweight handling that choppers and mid-class competitors can only dream about.
Low seat height (26.4 inches) allows riders to put both feet on the ground and helps provide this bike’s natural, relaxed and comfortable riding position.
The wide 210-series rear tire and chopper-inspired 21-inch front wheel reinforce the muscular styling of the bike.
No cheap plastic fenders here-this authentic cruiser has real steel fenders customizers love. Classic belt drive, too.
Get started on your own customization with two trim packages in high-quality chrome, or an aggressive looking, blacked out package.
The Star® Accessories Catalog is packed full of high-quality parts that invite Star owners to fully express their individuality."
Filmed with the GoPro Hero 3+ Black.

Hey man thanks for this video. I was at the motorcycle dealer today and just by looking at this bike... Grabbed my attention. Looks really good, I personally don't like chrome at all and this bike has minor chrome on it. I already have an appointment with sales rep to see if I can trade in my street bike. Thanks 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
I've watched this video over twenty times.
Now you need to buy one so you can actually do it !
That bike is SICK and one of the best choppers ever made.
What recording system did you use? It is very clear and has no wind noise. Thanks.
Great review. Those big V twins can pull off the line and surprise a guy
nice video man, i really liked it, i have a quest..fron you, if u had to chose betwen the bolt and the XV1300 whould be the best option? according with driving position ?? thanks for your answer.
The XV1300 or Stryker is more comfortable and it has more power so I would choose that over the Bolt.
thank you man, greetings from Mexico!
Nice review, i like that green😀looks very smooth.
Hah thanks. it is beautiful in green.
Hi, thank you for the video. Would you advise this bike for 6"5 person? Thank you.
Super glad I found this video. Great power but way to big & heavy of a bike for me. You explained it very well. You helped me make my choice & I'll go with my first choice the Yamaha super teneree.
Glad I could help!
I have that same bike and I love it. Gets up and goes no problem
Yeah too many people get way to amped up about engine size when realistically 1200cc is the biggest you will ever need
Can not bowleave I wasn't subbed to you... Great video man. New sub here 🍻🍻
It's all good man! thanks.
It´s a great bike! thanks for the video...I´m getting mine next month! definitly good choice
Glad to hear. I hope you enjoy the bike. I definitely enjoyed riding it.
Love from DeKalb Mississippi USA 🇺🇸
Two questions. How tall are you? Which one would you choose the stryker or victory hammer?
awsome ride!! looks like a damn cool machine! great review buddy, enjoyed the vid
+Escape Behind Bars Thanks! It was a cool bike for sure!
+archinuk417
Have you test rode the Star V Star 1300 Deluxe? V Star 950 Tourer?
+Okie Rider No I haven't
It's a good looking bike. I've heard that for being such a big bike, they're surprisingly steady at slow speed which seems to be a little different from your point of view. How does it compare with the other similarly sized cruisers you've ridden.
+Freespiritphil It doesn't have a crazy amount of power on paper but it feels powerful and quick. It does feel like a big bike though. Around the size of the Victory Gunner/Vegas.
was the bullet cowl effective in keeping wind off torso and head?
Yes it was pretty good compared to other bikes. I didn't mention anything about it in the video because it didn't occur to me at the time. If I felt a ton of wind or buffeting on my helmet, I would have mentioned it.
seems like a good bike, but just need to get rid of those weak pipes
AHAHAHA Holy shit dude, I was at that demo event at the exact same day ahaha. Thats my blue R6 in the background at 6:07. Came to check out the stryker. I loved it and decided to buy one as my second bike. Unfortunately though some asshole pulled a left in front of me and that was the end of the stryker...
Damn,that sucks!
I have been riding dirtbikes for several years now (just on my weekends off). And a couple of my friends took me to Vegas to look at getting a street bike.
I am just over 6' tall and this is the exact bike that i felt the most comfortable sitting on...so I ordered one.
I honestly didn't have the bike long enough to give you pros and cons. I was only able to ride her for a little over 200 miles before the accident so i was still breaking her in and taking it easy. That being said I felt the most comfortable on this bike and i liked the ride the most out of the cruisers I was able to test ride (Harley, Suzuki, Kawasaki) although the Indian Chief Classsic was definitely on my list but that price point is killing me. The Stryker is a big bike. Pretty long with the raked forks. The weight though is very manageable with its low seat height. I'm only 5'5 with a 29" inseam and i had no issues with the weight. Just takes some getting used to, especially if your used to sport bikes. I am definitely going to get this bike again soon but i don't like this years paint scheme.... miss my candy red baby...
Thanks for the imput!! Yeah man i mean i love street bikes due to their cornering Im scared of these bigger bikes entering corners my friend bought a used yamaha cruiser almost looked like a fat boy. The ride was amazing slower than a street bike but man was it comfortable. Where as my r1 i was using more as of a speed demon id take up big bear on the weekends. Amazing on the corners but man did it suck if id go to Los Angeles 30mins in and i had to get off just to get blood flow to my butt haha. Thanks again man!
in your personal opinion, the best option between Yamaha Stryker 2016 or Kawasaki Vulcan Custom 2016???? thanks.
stryker hands down.. the Vulcan (which I have owned and sold) lacks power on the highway
@@danf8047
You mean for the 900? Right? Not the 1500.
@@toddmichaels42 yes I had the 900 vulcan custom.. my hands were hurting at 100km+ from the vibration and engine forcing...my 2012 stryker (1300) you can hardly feel it at the same speed. :)
@@danf8047
That's what it seemed. Plenty of legs on the 1500. One of my riding buddies has one. Yeah, same with the V-Star 950, Bolt and C-50 and 883... Highways, good.... Interstate, it can do it... but... well, you already know.
I want a Stryker. But, also been lookin at 1300 V-Star and VTX... And that Fury. I have buddies that think I should go bigger.... but, I think I would be very happy with one of those.
Best wishes... keep her shiny side up :-)
@@toddmichaels42 I haven't had anybody around me (I have 2 friends with strykers) or read anywhere that they weren't happy with theirs... if 1300 is still not enough there's the Raider (1900 I think?). Cheers from Montreal!
"It's huge, it's huge" how many cruisers have you owned ?
Been looking at Strykers. Only concern I have is that I hear it is very "chuggy" at low RPMs which can make slower driving or maneuvering difficult as it kind of bucks around
Change the front pulley to a 30 tooth from a Yamaha Bolt. It solves it from what I have heard.
Try using more clutch control. I do on my Harley chop and it does the job.
I felt like I was riding it. Thanx 4 the f.p.view, as I'm a Yamaha guy. I ride a 650 cc V Star classic Silverado and that's enough torque, for an old fart, like me. Peace, bro & ride safe. 😃
is this a good sized bike for someone that's 6'3 235lbs?
Dallas Osburn yes
If you think the Stryker is a big bike (wich it is) but then you clearly haven't rode the Yamaha Raider 1900 yet! :) You should open up those pipes man, loud pipes saves lifes! ;D
How is the comparison in regards to a Harley Dyna Lowrider? Terms of handling, comfort, etc?
+Jason Theis Next weekend I will be test riding a few Harleys and will come back with my answer!
+archinuk417 I look forward to it
+Jason Theis Okay I rode the Dyna Street Bob. They didn't have the Lowrider there. The review will be up tomorrow (11/14/15)
So between the two, what is your take?
Jason Theis I definitely enjoyed the Dyna more. Both are great bikes but the Dyna has a different feeling.
hey man....love your videos!!! I've never ridden but I dream of it. I was wondering if you would mine giving your opinion on a good first bike. my problem is that I'm 6'3 with like a 30' inseam so I need a bigger bike! the struggle! Lol
Do you want a cruiser style bike or a sportbike?
+archinuk417 cruiser all the way!!
I would look at a Kawasaki Vulcan S. They have adjust-ability so that you can fit different types of people on them. The footpeg position can be adjusted, the handlebars, etc. Plus, it's a light bike and very easy to ride. You might want to check out the Yamaha Bolt as well. I'm not sure if this Star Stryker would be a good first bike for you. It has ridiculous torque and is fairly heavy and difficult to maneuver at low speeds.
+archinuk417 food for thought. thanks bro!
Watch out for the Vulcan S.itsa a dog
Good Vid
@0:16 thats what she said when i whipped it out😂😂
I hope it has power, its a 1200CC Short Stroke, so it only has the low and mid, no high end though.
amanoncrack i have no clue, but the power band is only to 5000rpm.
correction aswell, its a 1301cc
it's a 1304cc motor, yes it is short stroke, but it makes fantastic power, and the pull is linear and controllable. The bike red lines at 6,600rpm, but the limiter kicks in at 6,100rpm. It is a really well sorted bike, I've got 1800 miles on my bike (the same exact color and trim as the bike in the video) and I haven't had it super long. I would say that it's a very well behaved hot rod.
what is star? what's their relationship to yamaha?
It is Yamaha's lineup of cruisers.
how tall are you?
That is a SEXY ass Bike! I'm jelous you get to ride all these :p
+Bikingwith Beach Haha it is a very sexy bike!
What’s the 80 refer to?
80 cubic inches
"take a sport bike off the line"... ?? what kind of sport bike?? I ride a cbr650F (first bike) and I've rode my boss's stryker. The 650 would destroy the stryker, and it's hardly a sport bike
Demetrios Papavasiliou maybe in long run but not on take off
I had a gixxer 600, which would destroy your 650F. And I'm here to say that this cruiser, and most, would take a sport bike for the first 30 mph easy, because they can put down 100 ftlb of torque without doing a wheelie. An m109r would destroy your 650f all the way to 140 mph 🤣
@@noneofmybusiness9895 whaaaaaat top of first on a Stryker is like 60km/h, you'd walk a Stryker with almost any 600cc plus sport bike. learn how to launch a sport bike brother. Even just look at the zero to 60 times. If you launch a sport bike properly, you're walking a Stryker. I can't believe this is a conversation
@@demetriospapavasiliou8167 lol I've owned both. My 600 screamed. Was faster than the ninja, cbr600rr, and the r6. But off the line, having to feather the clutch to prevent a wheelie vs dumping the clutch, the stryker is faster off the line. The gixxer, though, can do 100kmh in first and would pass a stryker around 60 kmh
I have a Yamaha V-star Warrior xv 1700 that Will out run just about every sport bike made in the quarter mile! Oh and I have a Honda VTX 1800 that would leave you in the dust in any amount of space! 😂😂😂
That's what she says , "Holey Cow" You just got to get used to the size of it !
How tall are you
Not my cuppa.Bland
no offense but why do people with limited skill and knowledge do reviews. Again no offense but not a competent or technical review. Also the test rides are not very good for a Bike review unless you do roads with curves and decreasing radius turns and inclines and declines. Sorry again as I do not mean to insult or be negative or be disrespectful to you but the review was not very good or useful.
Edward wade jr I guess because he can post a review about how he feels, same way you can post how you feel.
Go try one out for yourself, that's what I do, even after watching a review. He's only giving you his personal opinion anyways, that's all any review is. Nobody else can make your mind up for you. Good luck with that brother.
dude I think u can't handle vrod muscle heh eh Stryker lousy bike sorry yamaha I wanna be
+tiger trees yamaha i wanna be
Always best not to be boastful about things you are not sure of.
