FILM DESCRIPTION:
This documentary takes a lighthearted inside look at the fashion industry follows New York designer Isaac Mizrahi as he prepares to stage a fashion show. While the film avoids criticism and in-depth probing into Mizrahi, it does provide insight into the man's creativity as he deftly deals with the chaos. Mizrahi narrates the film and frequently quotes famous lines from the old movies he dearly loves. Film clips from the movies are included.

@@y0urcheapthrill sorry but Yasmeen’s presence is way beyond Naomi’s and second of all she has the better figure which makes her walk even more difficult to be replicated by anyone.
Naomi is only the legs but Yasmeen is both legs and the hips.
However, once a legendary model said named “Iman Bowie” - it’s not the walk, it’s the presence”.
Yasmeen has her own charisma that shines out way more than naomi.
@@alright14 all a matter of opinion but considering how well regarded naomis walk and runway pressence with the fact shes still working i would say most people would agree with me, yasmeen is one of my favorite models and she does have a incredible walk and figure but shes a bit more reserved and subtle while naomi commands the runway. Also why do people alwys bring up yasmeen under anything to do with naomi? Lol

Back when models actually had some flesh on them and were curvy, athletic, and downright Amazonian
a lot of models these days are curvy and have flesh on them. it’s so odd to me how the older generation is ALWAYS bashing the new generation. as soon as generation alpha gets older, yall will start to praise gen z and talk about how great we were compared to gen alpha. yall do it everytime and it’s annoying.

With all due respect,this was the HEIGHT of anorexia and body dysmorphia with models living off Cigarettes and Diet Coke. The Top Tier girls like Naomi,Linda,Cindy, etc never outwardly exhibited it but the 90s was peak supermodel era as well as the height of women starving themselves to be rail thin. There are waaaaaaaaay more modeling outlets today,especially since society is more in control of beauty standards than Anna Wintour is.

One of my favorite films. Love it!
I can understand that for uniformity all runway model should ideally be size US 4 (UK 8) with waist between 24-25" and hips between 35-36". Like Carla Bruni, Karin Mulder and Shalom Harlow. BUT, I think an exception should be made if the girls are really beautiful. Because Naomi Campbell, Cindy Crawford, Helens Christensen, Yasmeen LeBon, Linda Evangelista and Nadja Auremann were all wore size US 6 (UK 10), with waist between 25-26" and hips between 36-37". And they are gorgeous !!!

These 90s shows had life and personality, todays shows are are more focused in the clothes and not the models. They’re just walking mannequins

Isaac is a pure genius, this documentary is so much fun and was a real eye opener to the design however, his business wasn't doing great and he eventually had to close his label. You can have every super model in your show and every celebrity sitting in the front row, but that doesn't translate into sales.

@@marlenetorres2198 , I think the runway work like this stopped in 1999. His work is all QVC now.
Yeah the fashion business at the end of the day is about sales. And it has to be consistently about sales and repeats otherwise they go under. If you look at a lot of the pieces even in that show, they’re just not clothes that would translate into sales. Those big PVC coats for example no one would wear on the street. They’re too costumy. Many of the big fake furs also were over the top. Just not wearable in a real way. The trick with all those from the same era that keep going to this day, like Michael Kors, for example, is that they still do runway but the clothes are wearable. Isaac was always very hit and miss as a commercial fashion designer and yet I don’t think he had the craftsmanship skills to do haute couture either. It was very New York “shmutters”. He was very good though, at commentating about fashion and understanding it theoretically. Probably a better documentary-maker than designer, if you look objectively from our 2022 standpoint.

That version of love is all around was recorded specifically for the film, as the licensing for the original was cost prohibitive. Sadly- it is an unreleased track, that should have been released. It sounds great!
