    My first exposure to Conan was via the Arnold movie as a kid in Nigeria. It was only when I emigrated to North America that I discovered he was a character from fantasy books. I have since bought the Del Rey books but I always enjoy listening to audio readings and yours is excellent, sir!

      When you were a kid, how big was the movie with you and your friends?

    30:20 the scene when Thoth gets the ring (my ring... my power...), does that remind you of another character obsessed with another ring of power? Only, this Conan story was published 20 years earlier

    As a kid growing up in the 90's i used to love watching the Conan cartoon. Now as an adult having collected multiple Conan novels on paperback and rereading as well as listening to the stories can see where many of the characters and elements from the novels converge with the cartoon and make it that much more exciting!
    Thankyou for your narrations they're awesome!👍👍👏

      Been looking for Conan the Adventurer Cartoon on DVD, watching it on Tubi in the meanwhile! Did you know in that, Michael Donavan, the voice of Billy Lee in the Double Dragon cartoon, voiced Conan, and - Using the voice he used for the Shadow Warrior, Sickle, in Double Dragon cartoon - Scott McNeil voiced Wrath-Amon??

    Just found your channel! Excellent reading. I've been a fan of REH for about the past 40 years. He deserves far more recognition. Pure storytelling at it's best!

    Wow! Robert E would be proud! What a reading! Fantastic work. In this day and age when most would portray Conan as non binary (not that there’s anything wrong with that) your version of him explodes with masculinity. Dam! That’s got to be a hell of a lot of work but....More please! We all thank you!

    What do I know of cultured ways, the gilt, the craft and the lie?
    I, who was born in a naked land and bred in the open sky.
    The subtle tongue, the sophist guile, they fail when the broadswords sing;
    Rush in and die, dogs-I was a man before I was a king.

    But what becomes of Thoth Amon?

    • @pulpheroaudio8709
      @pulpheroaudio8709  3 роки тому +5

      Presumably, he returns to Stygia and regains a position of power as he is mentioned in “The Hour of the Dragon,” which chronologically takes place after “The Phoenix on the Sword” and is the last canonical Conan story written by Robert E. Howard.

      Thoth Amon is still alive today, running the world with legions of snake-men along with Thulsa Doom.

    Really great. I just wish the Narration wasn’t so “shtrangly” “shtrong” in its “shtrangled”pronunciation of words that “shtart” with “st”.
