Being a TA/peer tutor seems like a really good idea, and looks good on resume, but i will say this, dont try to always get a job on campus it may seem more convenient but after you graduate a lot of the times on campus jobs dont really count because they can just be in the work study program and mostly everyone who has that on their FAFSA gets those on campus jobs, thats why i stress to take gap years and while you are at college work an off campus job this way after you graduate and while you are looking for a career in your profession, you still have some type of stable income and you dont have to look for some type of job altogether thats why i work as a CNA and a licensed real estate agent while attending university, and maybe also try to learn a skilled trade job before university it pays a lot better than someone waiting tables and flipping burgers and its some type pf job stability while you are in college

These are some great points.. appreciate you giving your input. Given what i know now I align more with your way of thinking within your related degree. I’m curious what you think, but I see a lot of people starting to take part time jobs at firms and companies around their school FOR their degree.. If you can get the ball rolling early (not always the easiest), you can work for companies and get experience in exactly what you want to do when you get out. This gives you more experience to leverage or pivot paths when you get out.

Next semester I have senior level Industrial Engineering classes. Along with some general electives i haven’t taken. Some of the IE classes are, project management, operations research, production planning/controlling etc.
