- We're home from vacation and the explosion of growth has been overwhelming! We have already added a 3rd board to the potato bed after this video was filmed. We are having salads every day, but I did lose my tomato babies and had to buy some locally. I was able to find heirloom varieties at the feed store, fingers crossed! Spending time with mom has been a balm to the soul, and she's done wonders for the garden while she was house and dog sitting, I'll be showing some of the updates next video!
All you single women out there, take notes from this girl.

I find landscape fabric of little use and expensive. I save all of my plain brown cardboard and use that in combination with mulch and or Straw. I find the cardboard is more effective at blocking weeds and grass

I traveled to America four years ago, and I used to buy vegetables from Walmart. I never liked them because they are beautiful, but without taste. I do not know what is the reason, but in my country, vegetables have a fragrant smell and a delicious taste, knowing that our climate is very hot and the soil has a little saltiness.

MOM knows best. The salad bed looks great. I really like to use arugula with other greens and then wilt it with vinigar and oil with bacon bits. Heated to a simmer and pour over the greens. Wow it really is great. My Grandma's recipe. Nice that your Mom could spend some time with you. A special kind of bonding in the garden. 😀

Here's a tip add some epsom salts to your garden or flower garden it provides magnesium and your plants will love it.

I'd advise that you buy a Troy-Bilt electric cultivator. It's light weight (which is good for everyone!) and does a fine job with small areas and raised beds. And is also easy to store because of its size. Just be careful and don't till your drop cord!!

I planted green beans seeds yesterday. All the berries varieties I planted last year love the Northern climate and are doing great. I think. Looks like first year of pears on my tree.

It's such a good idea to grow somthing new every year. You'll often find something, that you like.
Try using cardboard from large used cardboard boxes instead of the landscape fabric.
Wet it down then place natural wood mulch on top of the cardboard.
The cardboard will break down and add organic matter to the soil.

To step away from gardening and go down the attractive road for a second. A woman like this is definitely up there on the scale. Men may like to snag 9s and 10s but we don’t marry them. We wife up women just this one right right. Once a woman proves she can do more than look pretty there is no longer a 1-10 scale. At this point we start checking boxes not numbers. I don’t know this woman but she already has several boxes checked. Pay attention ladies.

Did u kno that u can jst break up the ground good & throw ur soil & furtalizer down then cut yer taters into eyes throw them on the ground cover them w/a good thick layer of straw water the straw when needed & u will have more taters than u kno whut 2 do w/!!! What if I lime some coal and mix it with mole soil(or earth) or clay?
Last year I put seeds in May and they ONLY started blooming in September 😿
Didn't even had a single fruit.

I grow potatoes in a stack of old tires. Easy to get them out ,just remove a tire and cover the rest

What machine was that that you used in the beginning to aerate the soil?
We planted a raised bed containing Kale, Arugala and Spinach. They all did awesome but we decided that we didn't like the Arugala and pulled it up for my brother's rabbits. We won't be planting any more of that in the future!
A little goes a looong way, that's for sure. It was my first year planting it, and definitely did not need so much! All my arugula will be pulled this weekend and replaced with peppers.

This was amended last year! It started as mostly clay and very packed. Lots of tilling, adding straw and compost. Too bad I ran out of my compost.
