I'm a long-time fan of this man who for me is a testament to how dreams may be achieved through a combination of indomitable faith in oneself & hard work. But even a cursory look at his career reveals an actor of extremely limited range; Rocky, Rambo, followed by a series of action-based roles with a couple of unsuccessful detours into comedy. He carved out a permanent place for himself as Hollywood's quintessential, triumphant underdog BUT if Hollywood has long ago put him into a action BOX, Stallone himself has nailed down the cover on that box by refusing to take the plunge into non-action dramatic waters. At 0:49, he says that he'd like to do Shakespeare "but it's not in the cards". Says who? I know he'd also like to bring something connected to Edgar Allan Poe to the screen. What's holding him back? I feel he's afraid to step out of his comfort zone. Or maybe he's not hungry enough, artistically speaking, to venture down a hitherto untraveled path.
VivaIlTeatro I had forgotten that Sly paints; he said in a video that he considers himself a better painter than an actor. Have you seen his work? Check out videos showcasing his artwork. There's a video titled 'Actor Sylvester Stallone Spotted in 16th Century Vatican Painting' which features a 1511 painting of a man who looks a lot like Sly. And in this lifetime Sly has been called a 'Renaissance man' by various people, including his present wife. Interesting...
Well I know Sly has always wanted to do those things. But he once commented that if Hollywood is going to make something especially now they try to go for what they think is going to be a good investment. Because they put a lot of money into action films and so on. Because that's what makes money for Hollywood. Stallone had a good Idea with Expendables. If Stallone experiments it might not work and people lose money. He has tried. Even though he is funny, his comedies didn't work.
Sly could just opt to risk his own money on behalf of a passion project. Woody Allen has been releasing one movie per year since prior to my birth. He's working on a new film, as yet untitled, right now. He is writing, directing, AND producing this latest project. I could be mistaken but I don't believe Sly has even once been credited as a producer since the commercially successful 'Rocky' captured the Best Picture Oscar in 1976. One CAN make movies outside of Hollywood.
Stallone and bullock fucked in their trailer while on set... I wont tell you what set but my father was working on set that day and I was just a kid...he took me on set several times to observe the scene shots. he told me all about how they used to disappear together into their set trailer and be in there for hours, sometimes spending the whole night in there and coming out looking pretty exhausted. True story bro, true story.
He still did great movies in the 2010s like Samaritan, Expendables 2, Creed 1 & 2, Escape Plan, Guardians of the Galaxy 2 and Tulsa King
his movies and soundtrack are part of my childhood in the crazy 80 's
