It is important to put a considerable amount of force into the track as a sprinter to be fast. Do you find it common or have seen athletes who do not intentfully put that force into the ground and inherently limit their own speed because of not being forceful enough? Thanks John
It is very important to put force into the track. If this is conscious then likely it can be corrected - everything being equal - by appropriate technique and conditioning. However it could also be a sign that the athlete is more suited to middle distance or longer distance running. That being said if the athlete does the right training to be a sprinter then they will be able to exert the force needed to sprint. Hope this helps
Well, I think it’s a combination of the drills I identify in the video - plus focusing on the movement when sprinting. It takes time to develop hip power - and I believe that sprint drills are the best way to do this as opposed to “gym exercises”. Go to the protocol part of the video and see the “piston” up and down movement drills (the second exercise). These are probably one of the most important drills you can do as the focus is on pushing down through the hip into the track. These can be done with 3, 2 and 1 steps between. Hope this helps and good luck.

Barefoot shaped shoes are all the fad now.
Is there any correlation to force production and barefoot shaped shoes or training barefoot?
