I've never heard of O'Donel Levy and will definitely be trying to get some stuff from him after I just did a deeper dive. I recognize the names of a lot of the artists on the other records you showed, but haven't actually listened to a lot of these so this was great! These aren't exactly all cheap heat, but here's a little list of some things I've discovered and liked recently: Gaston - My Queen Norman Connors Presents Aquarian Dream Aquarian Dream - Fantasy Brainstorm - Journey to the Light Pleasure - Future Now Gaz - Gaz Hopefully you haven't heard all of these, thanks again!
I read in article years ago that the Bootsy LP ultra wave was not ready for release.Acording to Bootsy Warner Brothers wanted the album out because of a deadline.Bootsy claimed the band was just jamming.Some of my favorite songs from Collins was on this record,Fat cat ,Mug Push!
I find it very interesting when albums like ultra wave and this boot was made for funkin were considered not up to the artist standard themselves and yet songs like jam fan hot inspired David Byrne to pen Burning Down the house.All of those neo funk bands ABC,FIXX , Naked Eyes and many more were using the sound pioneerd by Collins, Clinton,Worrell ,Sly,GCS,Junie ,Cameo and so many others.Funky music will never die!
