Hi Brett, just returned from the track in our ‘98 Defender 110. Happy to report that 7 years later the same flies were there to greet us and just as many mozzies. Amazing country though. I would recommend staying a night at Coward Springs too. There is a spa sized spring you can dip in, and can have a wood-fired shower if you’re a bit filthy like we were… Hope you’re well mate
Love this type of terrain and hope to do the track by bike someday soon I hope. Just so much of Australia to explore finding time to fit it all in the only problem. Cheers.
Thanks for another past adventure Brett! I am trying to find the video where you mounted the extra spare on the bonnet, i remember seeing it a long time ago. Can you please share that? I am thinking of doing the same. Any learning from that set up in the mean time? Cheers!
Thanks for your response. Perhaps hard to answer, but do you think it would hold a wheel incl the rim? I have the 'standard' 31" Michelins with steel rims.
It probably could as long as you have large enough backing plates and a bonnet protector to spread the load... The 3-way strap is rated for a full tyre and rim, usually used on roof racks. You'll just need to engineer it all well enough and be mindful of the additional strain on the bonnet hinges and bonnet latch.
Hey brother. Great video. Love the LR's!! I have a 2000 Disco 2, an have done those same tracks! great part of the world!!.. quick Question. How are you finding the Goodyear duratracs? much chipping or cutting? an what size are you running? 235/85?
Thanks. Yes absolutely brilliant. 235/85/16. minimal chipping on edge blocks. fairly even wear. Still got another 10-20000km left in them before replacement. Will do another follow-up review by years end.
I'm a fast talker and my words become incomprehensible, so i slow down my speaking for video so everyone around the world including non-english primary language viewers can understand what I'm saying. I also usually have to think what I'm going to say which slows me down.
Just came acroos your video .Great work ! I've produced a slightly different approach to the same subject . Check it out. On my "Mike's 4k Productions" .Let me know what you think !
I don't want to be one of those people but honestly I'd watch more of your videos if you spoke more fluently rather than 1-2 words at a time in a sentence. Enjoy your travels
Josh McEvoy Goodyear Duratracs are the biggest pile off shit i have ever had the displeasure of using. Tread looks awesome and chunky. Side walls are paper thin and fucking useless against side wall intrusion. just go into any Goodyear stockist and feel how thin the side walls are on a tyre in the display room. You will see what i mean when you press against the outer wall at the same time placing your other hand against the inside of the wall when you push against it. I would hate for yo to make the same mistake as i did as they are not a cheap priced ttre. Stay away from them.

Love ya work mate

Indeed it is. Start now ;-)
That would be an awesome trip on your bike.
Can't wait to do this trip myself. Cheers for the highlights.
Great track ! Just finished part of it towing a caravan ! 🤙🏻🤙🏻
Doing it soon with a camper trailer. Must watch your video. Cheers.
Nice video! Love your story's and clever upgrades on the Defender. Greetzz from Holland
Thanks mate.
It’s an amazing track, been there too. Thanks for sharing. Steve
You're welcome Steve. Thanks
Going soon as well. Couldn't find a video on the Oodnadatta on your channel. Did I miss it?
Nice video... I wish we had some desert in New Zealand.
You have plenty to see over there. Beautiful country. Especially the south.
Interesting & well filmed travelogue
Good stuff mate, loved my time going through there😊
It's like another country all on its own. Beautiful place. Thanks Wayne.
Wow that’s flat. Reminds me of Nebraska in the USA. Except you don’t have corn growing anywhere
Nothing growing here. Nebraskas would be nice to see too.
Loving this series Brett I'll be sure to watch the other vids you've made; loving the geography!
Thanks Fred and Rich. Plenty more outback Aus to come.
Did that on my bicycle, was pretty rough to do.
Thanks for another past adventure Brett!

It was part 6 of the build ua-cam.com/video/WbI1DIcdy1c/v-deo.html The set up worked fine. No problems.
Thanks for your response.

just got back from doing it, the publican at william creeks said 100 km per hour was to fast
Why fly all the way to Mars when you can drive the Oodnadatta Track!!
Pretty much, its a shithole
That's gold. I must see if I can borrow a space suit for my trip there next month. hahaha
Damn... I have been pronouncing Coober Pedy (koo-bah pee-dee) wrong all these years LOL 😆
It changes depending who's saying it. I think I got the right one.
Wikipedia agrees with you, spectreoz

Roaming The Outback, thanks for the quick reply mate. Tossing up between BF goodies or the duratrac. I'll await your review.. Thanks again

Dang ol Defenders,
Always something,

Way Cooler than any Toyota
& yeah
I got a 3 door 110😉
Great video but why. Do. You. Talk. With Such. Pause. Between. Words?

The content of the video is excellent and the way you spoke make it fairly easy to understand. Thank you so much.

This is an old video. I've learnt to narrate more fluently in my more recent travel films.

I've had no issues to date with them as a touring tyre.. but really comes down to your intended usage and vehicle specs/GVM.
Just goes to show you land rover are crap
Nice one mate! You tell em
Sweet video 👍👍👍
