Bro, you missed a small but big detail in the chapter. In the title box for Jarul, Oda said that he was 408 years old according to the Elbaph timeline. The big mom flashback was around 63 years ago and Jarul was 345 years old at the time. So according to the world timeline, Jarul's age should be 408 too. This just dismissed the time anomaly theory of Elbaph
So what does this mean... "Don't linger in Elbaf for too long" ? Does it mean that the nature of outsiders become more like warriors, like how Luffy violently went in to Gear 4 to attack a chained up Loki so quickly?? 🤔
I think Oda wanted us to consider how a human could impregnate someone like Ripley, but the explanation might actually be simple. Her husband could possess a devil fruit ability similar to Lily Enstomach from filler episode 575. Lily, who is originally a giant, can shrink her size thanks to her devil fruit. Perhaps there’s a similar fruit that allows a human to grow in size, making such a scenario possible.
I think it's just one of those things that's just "because" and we shouldn't think about it more than that. Big Mom had multiple children with those way smaller than her too so there's probably not an actual in-world reason
My brother, I’m telling you stabs and mystery girl are going to look for the key to free Loki. There’s only 1 significant thing left in the castle in it’s not Loki, but the key to free him.
1. I can see Loki being redeemed and him and harujdin being the new Dorry and Broggy. 2. 21:58 if Franky takes an Adam tree seed back to water 7, if what the viewers comment said is true, that can save it from flooding and the tree could grow exponentially faster than anywhere else with aqua lagoon. 3. Now that the giant kid was introduced I can definitely see scopper making his debut
Giants age differently than humans and the same probably goes for half giants. Colon looks to be about the same age as Harjudin was during Loki’s birth. Harjudin is 81 and Loki was born 63 years ago making Colon about 18 years old Right now. Who ever his father is he must be a major player from almost 20 years ago.
Ouest is how you spell the word ''west''' but in french. its pronounce as in ''west'' in french as well. so in translation west castle, near the western village.
Thank you thank you!!! I was at a loss when I saw that lmao. I saw that the other ways they spelt it (different scans) were "Aurlst" and that made me even more confused lol
Collin seems to be the inverse of Vicky the Viking. I watched that show as a child and Vicky was all about finding smart and non-violent solutions, unlike the rest of the Vikings who were kind of dumb/strong.
Kid being fished out of the ocean by some of the children from the Walrus School would be especially hilarious since he would scare the absolute shit out of them to the point where they're begging Luffy to come back because he was so much nicer in comparison.
The owl is interesting to me because it is a bird of the night and is often represented under the moon. In a place that represents the sun so much, why are they reliant on a bird that represents the moon? We still dont know what all this symbology means, but I think at some point we might and stuff like this could have more context. Question is also, is Colon a Buccaneer? He is half giant. Are there more Buccaneers like that in Elbaf? I thought they were rare, even so much so that Big Mom didnt have one (but maybe she did). Im glad youre finally on the Scopper bandwagon. It makes too much sense.
The helmet saved him? THE SWORD WENT THROUGH HIS HEAD! You can see the sword sticking out at the back of the head in the close up. Maybe it's like a halloween knife through head cosplay.
I wonder if the Mummy bandage literally sucks the moisture or something out of whatever part was bandage wraps around, like Crocodile. But maybe a little more broken version.
No, Luffy is the captain and if he decides to free Loki, Ussop will help his captain. He might protest but he will not get in the way. You are thinking too little of the loyalty of the crew to their Captain.
The Holy Knight girl with "shanks" could have the powers of the Pain-Pain Fruit ( Itami - Itami no Mi) granting her the ability to inflict intense physical pain on others without causing visible injuries. The user might channel this power through touch or objects like bandages. For example: Wrapping someone in “pain-infused” bandages that amplify every sensation into unbearable agony. Targeting specific nerves to maximize suffering. This ability would explain why a Giant Guardian screamed so loudly-it could have been subjected to unimaginable pain without any external wounds or something like the Mummy-Mummy Fruit (Miira - Miira no Mi) which would allow the user to transform into a mummy-like creature from ancient mythology. In this form, they could gain abilities such as: Draining life force from enemies by wrapping them in enchanted bandages. Spreading diseases or plagues associated with mummification rituals. Becoming nearly indestructible due to their undead nature. The scream of agony from the Giant Guardian could result from having their life force drained rapidly or being infected with a deadly disease spread through her mummified form.
Maybe road stole gerds clothes for little people to use in his play house. Also I think a pain pain fruit using bandages to apply her power would be interesting. Instead of healing it causes pain or wounds. Would be some twisted sense for a gods knight to be a torturer using bandages that should help not hurt
If the holy knight girl has some sort of mythical mummy fruit, the awakening could be interesting. When Loki was explaining the underworld, he specifically mentioned how the underworld is where people are executed and it’s filled with corpses. She could potentially summon mummified corpses from there.
I think oda is really setting up a lot for ussop this arc. The idealized version of elbaph being warriors of the sea is no more which could be a critique that ussop dream isn’t all that he imagined and a warrior of the sea doesn’t mean that you have to a man with brute strength but emotional strength sort of what shanks is like
9:30 it’ll be cool if Chopper goes monster point to read the books Edit: it’s kinda remind me of Hulk in Endgame, a big monster with glasses and who is insanely smart
I think the dad of colon/ guy off the coast is jackson banner. His hair is close to how colon’s hair is. I think we wont see scopper til lodestar 16:50
First time commenting here!! I’m thinking if they do plant adam trees around the world to suck up water, the crew could potentially recruit shinobu with her ripe ripe fruit to age the adam trees to a point where they are able to substantially lower the ocean level.
Heres a random thought King Herald ended up working for thr world government making them weak Loki found out that's why he "killed him* cause just like Ripley, Loki is of the last generation of actual warriors that could be why the magic circle could be used in the throne room 😊
The giant that was attacked by the Holy Knight seemingly had fire on his head. At first I thought it was his hair until I looked back at the previous panels of that same giant, and there’s definitely fire on his head now. So I’m still unsure what the Holy Knight did, unless it’s some type of “curse” ability/DF.
Watching episode 1109 right now and it actually shows a silhouette of someone at the bar with shanks and crew. Maybe they're all eating his favorite fruit too bc it looked special in the episode
The translation about the owls ability seemed weird to me. "To think even inorganic things can grow with its power" If you word it this way, it makes it sound like gigantification of organic beings is a sure thing
Yeah I think you're right, the sword looks massive, even for a regular giant. It looks perfect, for Jarul himself though. My first thought was he tripped on his beard and skewered his own head with his own sword. But could be Lokis doing aswell, not sure how big Loki is compared to Jarul
calling it now Loki was framed by the government as they wanted elbaf to fall so they tried to create a civil war by framing Loki. it could be that they offered Loki a spot on the holy nights or the government with that they would give him that mythical fruit if he killed his father but Loki denied and in result he got framed and played the act that he did it after many giants attacked him for this "crime". now loki is being the "bad guy" or acting like it because everyone has made him out to be one on elbaf. the more i hear loki killed his father the more i dint believe it.
17:33 I'd like to point out that she wasn't laying in a hole either, so while Luffy seemed surprised to be on top of Ripley Peaks, he must've _climbed_ to get there. 23:23 Makes me wonder: have we seen a female pervert in the series before? 35:07 Especially since he's officially shorter (20.5 m) than Brogy (21.3 m). And while scale inconsistency is nothing new in One Piece, the shown height order of characters is rarely wrong, so this legit made me wonder if he has somehow _grown_ in the past 63 years. Though some characters have had their numbers corrected, like Nekomamushi and Inuarashi.
I think that because the owl is not stated to "only" be limited to enlarge inorganic things, that ripley asked the owl to enlarge her husband in the library and that is how Colon was born
32:31 I think luffy might be one of a few that actually don’t drink the green fairy but instead all the Giants do then Luffy has to convince them that it’s not Shanks
Maybe when the holy knights attack Usopp will have to be brave to defend the children of elbaf which will lead to the the children being inspired by Usopp to become great warriors and also maybe they could become usopps army
Yo Syv, I don’t think the power is “bandages”. If you wanna mention mummies, I think it’s a Seal-Seal fruit. That Holy Knight might’ve “sealed” Loki’s eyes. The pain she inflicted on the giant could’ve been her “sealing” off arteries or nerve endings, similar to that of the Byakugan powers from Naruto. We know the pain that causes based on the effects in Naruto and it seems very similar.
This is one wacky way to start 2025 Oda. A load of WTFs in this chapter. The people mad at Oda for letting Kuma and VP live are gonna have a field day with the excuse he has for Jarul being alive
>Gods Knights live in the holy land of Elbaf >Mother Carmel was selling children to the Gods Knights >God's Knights aren't originally celestial dragons and theyre adopted into a family name and giving celestial status after reaching a certain rank. >Gods Knights aren't after Loki they were tapped into the transponder snail and are looking for Shakky/Mosa. >Luffy will steal the key too free Loki while the Gods Knights show up and have 2 god knights vs 2 gods meanwhile everyone is still partying.
I read the tcb translation that implied the owls ability mainly works on living things and made him a “nurturing owl” but Lilith was surprised it could work on non living things anyways if that’s true that’s prolly how scopper got big enough to make Collin wit Riply and it prolly wears off
Seems like someone is setting up/has set up Elbaf to be a weak country. Somebody might have tricked King Herald to make elbaf a peaceful country and make kids not having a warrior mindset. Once all warriors of elbaf have weakened. Somebody will come to wreak havoc and take over elbaf as they dont have enough warriors anymore. They also see Loki as a threat by him having a strong personality, that's why they set him up as a bad guy.
In my translation it is said that bibelot has become nurturing owl and i think his powers are like a catalyst for growth of organic things in his territory And growing inorganic things is the surprising or unexpected thing for him to do Lilith says : to think even inorganic things can grow with his power
5:45 what if it was louis arnot also remember colon said his father was a pirate who feared no one not even the giants themselves and from the memoirs we read about louis arnott warnings about elbaff what if it was louis arnott who brought the owl the devil fruit or the old man jarul the eldest giant. I suspect that colons father maybe louis arnott after all louis arnot is human an he was an explorer but most explorers were still looked at as pirates so what if louis arnott is not only the father of colon but the one who ripley had kid by because louis arnott is a human and ripley said that whoever she married wasnt formal or informal because he would be the who would grow old while ripley stays a young vibrant giant but this is my theory an thoughts also louis arnot didnt come off as fearful during the reading of his elbaff warning more like a concerned father figure
It isn't stated, but isn't Louis Arnott an explorer of old? Ripley said that her husband is much younger than her, and she can't be any older than Hajruden.
We were told the giants were one of the strongest forces in the OP verse. Them turning away from being warriors seems like an intentional plan to conquer them.
Bro Bonney lilleth and the vagapunk clone are now part of the grand fleet they literally have nowhere to go and only the straw hats can know they alive and keep them safe
My thoughts & opinions of the chapter: 1. Judging by how Colon was viewed by his fellow giants, I am curious if Luffy will eventually have his Shanks moment where he shows the kid the same lesson his fellow Emperor taught him at the very beginning? 2. When reading about the hooded woman's interest in finding Loki, I now wonder if this may confirm Mrmorj's theory on what really happened to King Harald & how his son was involved in all of this in the 1st place.
Prediction - VP involved with the school being named Walrus Academy, as well as Biblo’s DF ability/owl library; perhaps this gets revealed when Lilith awakens the clone from Elbaph’s past.
Do you know someone else who fits all the criteria? Rocks D Xebec is a former pirate who could have settled down on Elbaf, a power house name, and a person not revealed to us. Plus his violent lifestyle would change after his massive defeat and now the giants are peaceful. Would be a good deep dive into story we don’t know
Green farie being a plot point makes a lot of sense, Oda introduced it on the way to elbaph to foreshadow the hallucinations being relevant at some point
Yeah that seems like it, maybe if Shanks himself comes to Elbaph during this arc and ends up face to face with his clone/twin, and Luffy is there witnessing it, Luffy might draw conclusions and actually figure out that who he thought was Shanks wasn't him and probably a lot of utter confusion from Luffy and the other Straw Hats.
I feel like the shanks/shivs twin dynamic might be a reference to "The Prince and the Pauper" story by Mark Twain. The story is about twin boys, one stays royalty and the other is separated and grows up as a poor, they trade places and blah blah stuff happens etc etc. I'm just saying it's a reference to this story, not a exact 1 to 1.
When Biblo enlarges the newspapers from the fishermen, it becomes Big News.

The Holy Knight girl with "shanks" could have the powers of the Pain-Pain Fruit ( Itami - Itami no Mi) granting her the ability to inflict intense physical pain on others without causing visible injuries. The user might channel this power through touch or objects like bandages. For example:
Wrapping someone in “pain-infused” bandages that amplify every sensation into unbearable agony.

That "Egghead Island" was nasty work!
We were told the giants were one of the strongest forces in the OP verse. Them turning away from being warriors seems like an intentional plan to conquer them.
22:23 If the Adam trees can really suck up water, planting them around the world could prove to be extremely useful combating the world flooding
I thought Colon could’ve been Shanks’ son but lol Scoppers makes more sense
The Adam trees with Bonney’s devil fruit might be wild
30:27 wth was that lmaooo
Bruh lmaoooo I think he said elbaf or wano by accident but that shit threw me tf off😂😂😂
He said Elbaf. But instead of having a robot correct his error, he could have wrote it on screen lol
Bro Bonney lilleth and the vagapunk clone are now part of the grand fleet they literally have nowhere to go and only the straw hats can know they alive and keep them safe
0:50 so what if the books are giant, Chopper can use "monster point" to read them, and it could help they get more control over it, :D
''ouest'' is west translated in french btw 24:28
That edit just scared the crap out of me 😂 30:26
Jarul saying "my helmet saved me" is gonna save Luffy later on in the arc. He believes it there for its true
My theory is time moves slower on elbaph that is the reason why louis arnolt was warning us and that is why holy knights have outdated information
My thoughts & opinions of the chapter:
Would be a good deep dive into story we don’t know
So assuming Dragon is keeping tabs on the holy knights, he’s going to come to elbaf mid or end of elbaf.
I think the holy knights coming to elbaf makes perfect sense. Garland just came into power so this could be something that he ordered.
Never apologize for the energy
