For now we can import VTOL aircraft but later build the technology because ADA already is jam packed with development of Tedbf , Tejas mk1a , Tejas mk2 , AMCA and many many other projects like trainer etc. But the enemy does not wait for our aircraft development to be completed, so we must import some good aircrafts as stop gap measures until our indigenous aircrafts are ready.

Here issue is to increase the power of the this engine. You are talking about size, powerfull and efficient etc etc which is not the context. In case, we want higher power from the Russian engine. Can we do it without Russian help? Russia may be asking bug money. If we can do ourselves, that is excellent. We save money. Our supply chain becomes more robust as dependence on imports is less. Besides, India can offer it to many other countries who use this engine. This way India can export some other systems and services. Benefits are many. Issue is powerfull or efficient is also there but that is not the case here. It is well known that Russian engines have frequent servicing requirement besides many parts are imported from Russia which keeps aircrafts out of service for long periods. So self reliance with increased efficiency must be a welcome step.

@@soumyajitsingha9614 yes but it will be good to go with japan or Russia or France to co develop 6th gen fighter jet as well as other technology related to 6th gen fighter and india should upgrade AMCA project to 6th gen fighter and immediately give the orders for 65 su57 instead of ordering 104 rafale in mrfa since India really need one.
@@NamasteTractors no it's not possible we have some responsibilities in QUAD it's better to not go with Su 57 you probably don't know how much Indians were insulted when they went for inspection of the su 57 and they didn't even let the official deligation from India to go near the aircraft so no we don't need su 57 also no meanings to go for a jet that is already inferior to J 20 and J 31 created by China wether accept it or not it's time we start to take bigger risks and try and collaborate with the best in business in terms of fighter aircraft and engines which is US led aviation sector I know many people have an illogical fear of US but trust me I don't see any reason for India to fear US Sanction as we have already kinda put full stop to weapons import from Russia and we ourselves can manage things now on our own
