This method certainly does add a little shine to the plastic. But that’s not really a bad thing. It improves the look so much, the shine is not offensive. And you can always buy a flat armor all to rub on the door bring it to a more natural flat look. Bottom line, nothing removes scratches better than heat. Thank you so much.
Good job but being in the industry myself and doing it for a living what you gotta do is even out the heat across the whole plastic so that you don’t get shiny bits it takes longer than 5 minutes Patrice and patience with one that’s not on your car till you get it right but good job once again apply armour oil
If you apply it to a small area, that particular area becomes shiny (because it melts plastic surface). You have to apply it to the whole surface to get an even look right?
Heat does make the scratches less visible but the best way of getting rid of the scratches is to copy it's texture pattern with a PDR tab, hot glue gun and a bit of heat then dab it.
Hey man question if I accidentally get the shiny look like you said is their away to make that go away? Not even being Sarcastic I’m just wondering because I just did mine and it was kinda shiny
@@abdulaleem7344 you can try on the back of the plastic but I've tried to heat gun method and it melted and destroyed my plastic piece. I had to go to the junkyard and buy a new piece. The plastic will start melting in bubbling before it fixes it. Don't try the method in this video, it might work for some plastic but it was a nightmare when I did it
You should only use Isopropyl alcohol if you treat and protect after that. Not in other cases. But yes you need alcohol clean if you detailing ur car cuz u need to clean all impurities or old protectants/treatments before use new.
Yes it would infact it's a amazing way to blacken your trims it brings out the natural oils in the plastic to the surface and give it's a permanent new look .
@@shnkoo6302 if you don't it does nothing. This technique is worthless. The solution I've come up with is knock down all the texture and spray regular 2k basecoat and clear
Then your heat gun was too hot, you held it too close and for too long. I’ve done this quite a few times and it works well, but you have to be CAREFUL and very patient.
Fak man, I have scratched the fucking automatic vacuum cleaner of my parents in law (I took it without asking them to use in my apartment) and I can't fucking rid of those scratchessssssss the fan doesnt help, HALPH MI I am so fukked. plez donut me money to buy a new one, jk but no jk about what I have done xD

Thanks bro you are the goat. Tiny scratches bug me because of my ocd, I was about to buy all new interior panels. Live savor!

I’m so excited that I can try to fix this now!
I bought my first new car and put a dog crate in the back and scratched up the plastic badly.

Looks like you overheated some sections. I’d move the heat-gun around more, as your swirls still had a focus point of too much constant heat.
They appear shiney at first, but they have since dissapated and become dull
this is a great solution for older cars that you dont mind trading one problem of scratches for blemish areas.
How has it hld up all these years?
Keep up the good work dude👍🏽

I found that if you apply very lightly on low heat, you can avoid the shineyness. It takes some practice, but keep it moving fast and light

What about using a hairdryer
Can I do this on the interior of the Tesla? On the surface of the glove compartment
Can this method be applied to shiny exterior plastic trim?
do u find it changes the fnish? like from a matte to a glossy?
It hasnt changed the finish to be honest, just dont put the heat on too much
Hey man question if I accidentally get the shiny look like you said is their away to make that go away? Not even being Sarcastic I’m just wondering because I just did mine and it was kinda shiny
So you can remove the scratches with heat. That’s it just heat? Interesting, I did not know this, ima try it now.
Question mate - If there are marks on those metal plates .. how do you treat those?
polish wheel and some compound
How bout the painted black gloosy one? How to fix it?
Would it work on glossy plastic u think?
Can i use a hair dryer instead?
You may, will take longer but is safer!
What temperature?
any suggestions on copying the grain pattern? starting from square 1 over here
Those are not running boards. Those are sill panels.
Where can I contact you about fixing my scooter? I had an accident with it in the first time using it 😪
I gotta do my IS350's glove box! Thanks!
Its almost magic, will have to try this out tomorrow and see if it works, because you know, it looks to good to be true
did u turn it on max or min for amount of heat setting?
Turn it on low setting first to move the heat around fast as to not burn the leather
@@kando3670 u think hairblow dryers would work
alcohol will permanently discolor many interior plastic panels, I know from experience, don't use rubbing alcohol
His plan seems to be working do u have a better idea ?????

Can this be used for exterior plastic?
cheap panel cost 13 bucks for new ones . 30 bucks max
$122 for my new Lexus . . .

How long this look will last before we need to do it again? Will it damage the piece if we do it too many times?
But all shiny
i can say that this isnt the best solution or a solution as the result looks terrible in day light
what Socceror magic is this ???
Is this job still possible with a hairdryer?
You can try it but it may not give off enough heat or will take a bit longer
Ah okay cheers. And does the shine from the plastic disappear later on or no?
cheers big man👍
jjai vaja, did u try it with a hair dryer
@@randomrazr yeah i did....didn't work😭
Big time
it is not a great solution. Plastic becomes shiny/oily and cheap looking
I tried to heat gun and instead of fixing my plastic it just melted it and made it bubble. I highly recommend nobody trying this.
dont keep the heatgun on the same spot too long
