So Sebastian probably developed immunity to anesthesia. But you can't physically develop an immunity suddenly, it takes time. So, imagine this: You are in an underwater lab, random scientists are cutting you open and forcing your DNA to merge with some sea animals' DNA, and you can NOT give a physical reaction to it fearing you may be killed, punished or drugged with something else. And you must go through this multiple times, every surgery being more painful than the previous one since you are developing an immunity to anesthesia and it is losing it's affect on you, being more awake the more operations you go through. And Sebastian somehow survived that for 12 years straight. Poor man, he did NOT deserve this, he did nothing wrong. No wonder why he has haphephobia. (I do not know if it is canon or if I spelled it right but it is the fear of being touched)

And he is quite nice for a traumatized person too, other than making fun of expendables all the time, he sometimes shows signs of worry when we die/leave his shop. He is sure a strong fish Not so fun fact: In an alternate/scrapped ending we had to kill Sebastian and he would cry in desperation of his mother. Not sure how correct this is since I saw it in a comment of a video about Pressure lore, but I am glad the idea got scrapped.
