Air New Zealand 737-300 cockpit jump seat flight from Christchurch to Wellington

Enjoy this cockpit jump seat view of take off from Christchurch runway 02, followed by a spectacular approach from the north and landing into Wellington runway 16. Stunning weather and scenery. Loved it so much that I did my EASA PPL when I returned to UK and then my mountain flying rating from Kaikoura 2 years later. Following which I flew a PA28-181 Archer to Blenheim over the 2 x Kaikoura ranges at 10,000 ft in superb weather. Tremendous experience all on the back of flying into Wellington like this.

@@nigelc22 Actually, the more impressive flight was from Kaikoura to Lake Station/Nelson Lakes NZLE and the descent over Lake Rotoroa. That was memorable and I took some really satisfying pics to remember it by.

i once got into IMC accidentally in a C172...but i remained calm. Aviate,navigate .communicate. Vector radar terrain monitored by ATC to land safely . Windy Wellington though as usual. Need to tie down at apron for one nitestop over. Back in 1990s.. Thats after i got my new NZCAA PPL

Done that from Christchurch to Wellington October 15th 2020,
Unfortunately Wellington approach had 2 attempts then returned to Christchurch...after Covid release.
The pilot needs more training.

In the 737-300 I always felt like there was a truckload of thrust during take off... I don't seem to be pushed back into my seat as much in the A320
