When I say gotta be a reason hit different when I first heard it, I was going trough a though time in my life and I heard that song I had glen trough a few weeks with absolutely no emotions except for emptiness and things like that till I heard the song.
Something about that phrase bothers me. "thank you for his mother". You're assuming that 1) he has a mother 2)he was raised by his mother 3)his mother was good at being a mother It does say in "if we have each other" that he's sad that his parents are getting older and might die soon, so that does give a clue that he has good parents, but that's about it. I'm not trying to be rude or be like "tHaT's OfFeNsIvE", I'm just asking that you don't use that phrase directly to someone, like, directly, especially if you don't know them or their childhood well.
