Same here, I envy this man's commitment to enjoying the simpler things in life. My wife and I as well as our two small children are seriously considering leaving the city life for a more simple way of life. God bless and best of luck.
@@mike.p.1400 Try sitting in L.A. traffic since you have the right mindset. My mindset is getting to work on time because my family depends on me to do it. You think Ukrainians are pretending to be content with their situation just because they have the right mindset? Those people are thinking about staying alive along with their loved ones. It's easier to enjoy your life journey when you don't have anything else to worry about. You have already paved your own road at this man's point.
I left the news and negativity behind years ago, and my life hasn't been better than it is right now. I don't have a TV and I camp often. Slowing down has had the best impact on my health than seeing a team of doctors.
Words of wisdom …….I love it . and ditto on “Yellowstone” ……while Kevin Costner has done some great movies , this show is Hollywood’s typical use of excessive violence and vulgarity (and I’m no saint by any standard). Slow down…..we should all heed this advice.
It's to the point where artificial has even become artificial. I lived lies for so long but it was a mistake. I feel much better now having accepted that I don't need the acceptance of the fake masses because God and family come first.
Wife and I started out together very poor. One of the first things we bought was a percolating coffee pot. Made the best coffee and we still have it after 28 yrs.
I’m a city boy from Akron Ohio and I love this channel! I’m a school teacher and I spend my summers “slowing down”. It’s so fun. Garden, French press coffee, then around noon I switch to beer. Work in the yard, play some music, nap. Repeat! God Bless America!
Gave my grandpa a Mr. Coffee years ago went to see him the next weekend, it was sitting up high on a shelf in the kitchen, could tell it was used (once), I asked him why it wasn't on the counter. He only had a few words for me. "I don't drink instant coffee either". Always made his coffee in a coffee pot or peculator, pure grounds and time and patients. Rethought my future gifts. Grampa was always about quality and time. "If your going to do some thing take your time and do it right or don't do it at all" Your Canadian Friend and Fan
Someone gifted my grandfather (WWII vet a mr coffee in the 70s or 80s when they first came out and he did the same thing, used it maybe once then put it away. When my mom asked him why he didn’t use it he said it didn’t get the coffee hot enough because he liked it “piping hot.” He used a percolator on the stove.
I rose before the sun, watched this as I was cooking my coffee, and went outside to see the sun rise. I cherish my peaceful mornings. Bless you and yours. 😃☕️
Dwayne is a modern day prophet. I could listen to him for hours. He has a fabulous voice and his philosophy on life is compelling. Bet his coffee is damned good, too!
"Customize your life"- I love that and it’s so true. If you want to control your anxiety and your stress, slow down. That’s what I’ve been doing for several years and it works great, but I still get caught in the ways of the conditioned thinking, but I’m aware of that right away and I stop…and slow down. I get up at 4:30 am everyday (including weekends) and I have a routine that it’s enjoyable and don’t require rushing. I get up, feed my cats, brew my coffee ( similar to Dwayne’s way) enjoy my cup of coffee, do the bathroom thing, take a shower and do everything in the NOW. I’m not thinking about work, I’m not thinking about how much work I have to do today, I don’t care nor think about it, those thoughts aren’t allowed in my brain. I simply enjoy the moment with a soothing instrumental music in the background while I do my routine. That’s my meditation method, stay in the present moment because that’s where I live. I don’t live an hour away from now. I live right now. I do this all the way until I get to work at 6:30 am ( I don’t have to be there until 7:30am, though) I get there and begin my day preparing what’s to be delivered that day. I’m in logistics, so by the time employees start arriving, I have everything ready and we open for business. And I try my best to stay in the present and do things following steps I developed in order to reduce stress in employees and customers. We don’t jump from 1 to 5. To get to 5 you have to go through 2, 3 and 4 and this makes the day at work more enjoyable. I love watching Dwayne’s videos. He uses every second of every one of his videos to say something interesting and helpful. That’s very valuable. Stay present my friends.
Best coffee experience for me was my percolator over a fire in the Wasatch Mtns with plain old Folgers in the 1960s. Now I am a geezer and we grind our coffee fresh every morning from fresh roasted beans from Bisbee AZ's Old Bisbee roasters, delivered by mail weekly. No better coffee, but the experience is not so magical as that old campfire coffee. When we go up the mountain and combine the two, heaven is close at hand. I am greatful for Dewayne's simple approach to life.
I have that same coffee pot in my camper I have had for over 25 years. Guy I used to Elk Hunt with got it for me. Ed passed awhile back. While at his elk camp, he had some rules. You leave your problems at the gate to get up here. You dont badmouth or bitch at his camp about people. Coffee is made in a peculator, not a machine. And most of all, you leave his camp a better person. Watching these videos remind me of Ed
My friends and I go camping about 4 times a year, usually on a friends land sometimes at a hunting lodge (yeah, not really "camping" but no cell or wifi or stoves). First one up is responsible to get coffee going (usually me). Nice sitting by a creek, perc in the coals, peace and quiet. Once everyone is up, we all get breakfast going (about 6 or 8 of us), more coffee made, games (and liquor) come out, then dinner. Life is simple, when you decide it should be!
Finally! A simple man with simple yet powerful message more folks need to hear. I've been of this mindset all my 65 years. And thanks for showing folks denim ain't dead. Plus, good coffee and a fine cigar in the Hill Country! "It don't get no better!"
I've got a college degree in the area of psychology and I have to admit to you are a natural human psychologist. SLOW DOWN is the best advice in this modern world.
You’re my kind of people. The world would definitely benefit from slowing down and doing things in a more collected and wholesome manner. There’s no substitute for a good pipe/cigar and a hot cup of coffee in the morning. Life is yours. Good stuff, brother!
Sir, you are as much a philosopher as a cowboy. Thank you for all your insights and wisdom as well as the instructive tutorials. Blessings to you and your family.
I have consumed a lot of coffee in my life but the one most memorable was with my mom in 1983. We had just purchased some acreage near Chevron Canyon, Az and took a ride to check out the area. At midday I built a small fire and brewed some coffee similar to what you did in a pot like yours. While sitting in the shade we ate and drank coffee on our property for the first time. I have never had a better cup of coffee. Along with the aroma of the coffee there was the smell of the pinion pines, crows making noise and a nice breeze. Mom and I shared a lot of coffee and whiskey over the years but that day remains a treasured memory.
I remember way back when everyone had a percolator. When that thing got cranking, it would fill up the entire house with that angelic coffee smell. At my Grandpa's house I noticed that he would pour some of the steaming hot coffee in the saucer, blow on it for a second and either drink it right from the saucer or dump it back into the cup. At my tender age, I didn't realize that after the percolator is done, that's some scalding hot coffee. To this day, I want my coffee sipping hot, not luke warm that you get in a restaurant. Nice job on the video!
I would get up at 3am, fill my french press with water. Microwave for 5 minutes while brushing my teeth. Grind up some good whole bean. Set up my press. Take shower, get dressed. My coffee has been brewing all the while. Press and go. Sipping some strong brew easing down the road. I'm retired now. Same routine but now my doggy (big black German Shepherd) gets me up every day about 7 or 8. Best alarm clock in the world. lol
I roast my own beans and brew in a French press. I’m used to my coffee taking time. It’s worth it. It’s my time to slow down and relax. Same with how I shave. I use a straight razor. The extra few minutes it takes to make a lather and strop the razor is quiet time for me. A great way to start the day off right. Thanks for the wisdom, Sir.
Forget Yellowstone, YOU need your own TV show. So much sage wisdom in these videos. Hope you get that land in TN, that's where I live. I'd love to have a cup of coffee around a campfire with you cowboy
I stumbled across your channel and so glad i did. It so nice to find someone who thinks like you! I like how you view life and your wisdom and willingness to teach what you know. I don’t watch TV any more I usually just watch down to earth people on UA-cam. I also use a percolator. I get my coffee ready the night before and than just plug it in in the morning. I also have a percolator that you can use on the stove or camp fire. There is nothing like percolator coffee!
You’ve saved a lot of people time and money seeing psychologists if they just listen to this advice on slowing down and having a good cup of coffee. Our world is going to fast and people are way to “uptight”!
My first job I was eleven. My Dad, God Bless him, came home everyday that week seeing me watching the boob-tube. He grew up in North Alabama. Plowed using two 'ole Army mules on my Grandad's farm. He words to me was "boy have a job before next week or I'm throwing your a** out the front door." I have been working every since. Worked 40 hours a week through HS. Never missed a day of school in three years. I was up every morning at 0400 delivering papers. Always had a hot pot of coffee on the stove. I like it strong & black to this day. Today I grind my own coffee. Pour hot water over the coffee grounds in my Chemex. Peets dark roast. No Kuerig in my house. Thanks Dewayne.
You are so wise. I appreciate your perspective of life. Been percolating my grounds on the stove every morning for at least 30 years. And yes, the Texas Hill country is beautiful. Blessings.
I like your way of thinking i am 65 retired commercial construction supt. Now that i am retired i had a hard time slowing down till i screwed up my back just had surgery now i have to slow down. thanks for your videos the world needs to listen
I really appreciated when Dewayne talked about checking out 'Yellowstone' from the library, hearing it'd mirror his way of life and appeal to him, only to find it's just Hollywood's glitzy take with no resemblance. It's a cool reminder of how real life, with its genuine, custom-made moments, often beats those scripted versions we see on screen. It's neat how he encourages us to seek out the authentic stuff over the flashy but fake. Thank you for the reminder to slow down. Keep the gold coming, Dewayne
My father taught me to make old-school Arabic coffee and I can tell you it really does feel good to take those 5-10 minutes to slow down, smell the coffee, watch it, filter it, and sip it.
You are right Dewayne. Even in urban set-up it's not too hard to make REAL coffee. A turkish coffee pot (I highly recommend smaller ones, no more than 2 expresso cups capacity), turkish coffee grade grinder (or buy it ground), a stovetop - et voila! Just make sure you watch it like a hawk and take it off the stove before it all runs out. And remember - the grinds are there at the bottom of the pot - careful as you pour it out. P.S. I only call it turkish because that's how it was introduced to me. It can be rightfully called Greek, Armenian or Arabic - whichever you prefer.
🙌🏻 Finally someone else who doesn’t like Yellowstone. I made the mistake of buying it. Didn’t even unwrap the second dvd. Great talk. So glad we found your channel tonight. God bless!
I Know how to bushcraft, Camp and cook in the wilderness, and of course make coffe. But I really enjoy watching you do it in a great place when I'm stuck in the city and can't. Thank you. It's a calming thing that brings me back to where I need to be.
I agree slow down I've been preaching this also , I'm a mountain man reenactment lover and I carry it over in my real life. Here's to u my friend coffee ☕ time .
Many people live as sheep: docked, dipped, and wethered. Slowing down is great advice. Let's us chew the grass slowly and enjoy the sunshine. If you gotta be a sheep, then be free-range, relaxed, and proud. God Bless!
These videos are so nice! I percolated coffee over a fire for the first time with my friends on a trip recently, I did it completely wrong, but it was still cool to do it in a more involved way!
This is exactly how we learned, and make our coffee. Enjoying the process and the fruits of our labor. We’re living our lives too fast. Thank you for the “facts” of a healthy lifestyle.
That was some fine looking coffee. I could almost taste it. And thank you for preaching the slow down. The folks I know are so busy we don’t have time to enjoy each other anymore.
Without evening knowing it I bought that same percolator last week (Coletti Bozeman). Man oh man does that thing make a fine cup of coffee! Been a while since I’ve used one, but 4 minutes was the trick, Thanks!
I randomly clicked on your video after the cowboy coffee guy looking for a better cup of coffee and came away with a better way to relearn how to live. Thank you!
Dwayne speaks a lot of truth,, fortunate I feel like I’ve got a good amount of my life ahead of me and I realized to slow down early on, life is more enjoyable when you stop to appreciate it
I watch your videos and you take me back to reality and slowing down. Everyone is in too much of a hurry. I'm old school and I like your way of explaining stuff. You make me relax. Thanks for your attitude
Customize Our Coffee and Our Lives ! What a great Video and Once again a great message. It is our life and I believe God wants Us to find the Joy in it . You are right about a hurried life . Keep this message going 😇
Great video . I have the same coffee pot and the aroma that comes out of that coffee pot is awesome! You’re absolutely right we all need to slow down. Thanks
I just stumbled onto your channel here and I must say that I have found a kindred spirit here. We both have been hit with the same club, if you will! I love what you're doing and I love this channel that I just found. I totally agree with you about "Slowing Down"! I'm 75 years young and have been down the road a bit. I'm fed up with the rat race, dog eat dog life and people and I have slowed down ON PURPOSE I live in Kingman Arizona and love the pace here. You do have some Commifornia transplants that seem to bring their crazy ways with them. I'm a transplant myself from there but have slowed down on purpose. I think that's why I identify with you so much. Do keep up the good work that you're doing.. And know that there is someone out here that is rooting you on! Keep the faith my brother!
Thank you Sir! I have enjoyed each and every one of your videos. Not only do I enjoy the topic but I also enjoy the message you have to go with it. Thanks again!
Wow! This is the first video of yours that I've seen... a hell of advice for everyone to hear... you're absolutely right, EVERYONE needs to learn how to slow down... everyone is too darn busy trying to get ahead, stepping on everyone else's toes and then what? by the time they think they've reached their goal, they're too weak and too sick to enjoy it...
Great video! I hate when I see people needlessly covering their coffee pots and pans with blackened soot because they cook on "flames of a wood fire". Always cook on "hot coals", never flames! BTW, percolator coffee pots have been around since the 1800s, so I'm pretty sure the true Cowboys and Vaqueros also brewed their coffee in percolators/coffee pots directly on the coals.
Howdy from the UK! I have only recently started to take my coffee without milk/cream to reduce the amount of lactose/sugar I consume in a day, it is scary how much I was drinking in my four or five lattes a day. It is taking a bit of time (no problem there) but I am gradually appreciating the different flavours and nuances in real coffee which milk tends to mask. I still can't do it without sugar or sweeteners though!! Of course, being a Brit a good cup of tea wins hands down :)
Ukrainian folk here, and that's waht I was hoping but wasn't expecting to find. Each video is honest, real and down to earth. You are talking to us, you are not recording a video. Just you and us, viewers.
I came across your channel and it is like sitting by the fire with my late father. The two of you are from a time that we have set aside and forgotten about! We move so fast and are so consumed by convenience.... Love your videos as they speak a truth that unfortunately has been set aside. Why are we all rushing to the end of the trip when the journey is the most important part? Slow and easy! God bless and stay safe.
Glad to see there is someone else who thinks like me.....a few years ago I sat in a mall while my wife was shopping and I decided to watch people like I used to do.....after about 10 minutes I realized I don't like people watching anymore.... Everyone had a look on their face like they were waiting for someone else to tell them what to do next.....I had to leave that mall quick at that point.
My wife and I love our percolator coffee pot... it was my grandpas and your right live your own life and we don't care what other people think God bless.
Thank you for your kind and warm advice Sir, ...it comes at a very emotional time in my life, and your words feel just right. I am a coffee drinker myself, and I got a number of coffee pots to slowlly brew a good cup. I find, and try my time with coffee, to be in peace with the world.
I love your good old fashioned common sense. I took a couple of old friends out back, made a simple camp fire and coffee. Took out my barlow jackknife and started whittling. My friends said, It's been over 40yrs. since we did this. I made a gift of the extra old school barlows I got for each of them. We all hade the best time (remember whening) and catching up on everything else. The simple thing fall by the wayside fare to often. Thank you for all the work it take to make your videos. God bless.
Came here for the coffee, ended up with a whole new look at life that is now making me re-think my entire life. Definitely subscribing.
I was just about to comment this and it’s my feelings exactly

Every time I listen to Dwayne my stress level goes down and I'm cool the rest of day keep up the good works
Yes he has one of the most calming voice.
Ditto.
Agreed!
Yep ..But then I realise they're coming for our children

I feel relaxed simply watching this man make coffee, smoke a fat one and tell us to just chill. Needed that.
It works wonders. The Dude abides.
😂💯💯💯
The last half of video speech is 💯. This guy is aware of how fake the world has become. Respect!
It's to the point where artificial has even become artificial. I lived lies for so long but it was a mistake. I feel much better now having accepted that I don't need the acceptance of the fake masses because God and family come first.
I'm 65. I slowed down 15 year ago. Slowing down and a few blessings is how I've made it to 65.....happier than ever.
Slowed down considerable after leavin the service ... slowed down so much I sometimes sense that I might be goin backwards ... which is fine by me.
Wife and I started out together very poor. One of the first things we bought was a percolating coffee pot. Made the best coffee and we still have it after 28 yrs.
Two cups of good coffee served in mismatched mugs off a cinder block. Perfect! Keep up the good work. 👍

"Life is yours, make it a good" best advice I have heard
Finally! A simple man with simple yet powerful message more folks need to hear. I've been of this mindset all my 65 years.
And thanks for showing folks denim ain't dead. Plus, good coffee and a fine cigar in the Hill Country! "It don't get no better!"
As the wind blows, the grass grows and the sky is blue. Slow down and notice. Good advice Dwayne, I'm with ya on this one.
I'm really starting to like hearing this guy's voice. It's so soothing and relaxing.
I’m an old retired cop with a new motto “Slow down, Relax” I love it!!! I got my cigars, now I need a percolator!!!!
I feel like you are my uncle giving me sage advice on horses and life. Thanks for sharing your life with us!

Glad to see another good ol Southern boy bringing back the old days. Enjoy your videos brother.
This guy gives a lot of good, simple, common sense advice.
My father taught me to make old-school Arabic coffee and I can tell you it really does feel good to take those 5-10 minutes to slow down, smell the coffee, watch it, filter it, and sip it.
I've got a coffee pot just like yours, and make my coffee just like you do when camping. Great message too--I'm sold. Love it.
@AmericanPatriot14 To be honest, I've had it so long I don't remember who the manufacturer is. Sorry!
Yessir, great video. I hardly any TV other then old westerns on GRIT. I enjoy a good cigar and camp fire or cowboy coffee and relaxing.
You remind me of my uncle, God rest his soul. It's nice to hear a similar lesson to what he'd give me when I was a kid.
Thanks for the videos!
This channel is genuine gold. Thanks, Dwayne
Completely correct about slowing down; we all have become a sheep. Thanks for your videos sir, Texan here myself. God bless
"Life is yours, make it a good one." Love it brother, the little things in life are the most fulfilling...
God bless!
What I wouldn't give to bail on school and come hang out with this guy. The wisdom is always appreciated.
Great video! There's nothing like a good cigar and campfire/cowboy coffee!
I agree, A good cup of coffee is definitely worth the time and effort!
I just bought an old coffee pot at an estate sale yesterday. You’re right, for something good you need to be patient. Slow your roll!
Thank you!
You are so right. So very right. Thanks
You are absolutely rite
Keep it simple and real
Slowdown
Keep it away from the ratrace.
Very Wise words my New Friend!
Customize your life. What a champ.
Thanks
Thank you Ron Swanson for the percolator tutorial and the life lesson
THANK-YOU MATE !!
Keep the faith my brother!
... I'm learning to soft-boil the grounds. Thank you
I thought that I was the only guy on the planet who didn’t like Yellowstone! Thanks for the video.✌️
Love the words of wisdom that came with the coffee ~ thank you for sharing.
Man, that's probably the best advice I've heard in a long time. Slow down, life is yours. Make it a good one.
The best advice a guy I used to date gave me, was to slow down. To be patient and learn to wait. 1 of the best peices of advice I was ever given.
You are so right about slowing down. God bless you for this insight. We’re all in too big a hurry.
Your right on target. I know I fall in the category of needing to slow down. I also need to camp more and just relax with nature.
I could listen to this guy talk all day
Ukrainian folk here, and that's waht I was hoping but wasn't expecting to find. Each video is honest, real and down to earth. You are talking to us, you are not recording a video. Just you and us, viewers.
A good coffee and a cigar is the best to remind you of a simple life. Time to SLOW down and truly enjoy life.
Nothin like a pot of coffee and a Marlboro in the mornin and a glass of bourbon and a cigar in the evening.
God bless.
Sounds good. Thank you for sharing. God bless!
