VIDEO DESCRIPTION:
In this video we visited the offbeat Montrose neighborhood in Houston, Texas, known for its gay bars, vintage stores and eclectic mix of eateries. We visited some of the buildings belonging to the Menil Collection including the Rothko Chapel, Byzantine Fresco Chapel & Dan Flavin Installation at Richmond Hall. Later on we went to the St. Patrick's Festival in downtown Houston

Didn't really get to film what I wanted in this vlog with the restrictions in the museums and the St Patricks festival kinda sucked but thought I would still post it anyway. Thanks for watching :D
What are you talking about anyway
what do you mean?
It's a shame that the Menil Collection was closed when you were here.
Come back when you have more time -- Montrose is GREAT!
Houston is AWESOME!
The Byzantine frescoes went back to Cyprus and now the chapel hosts various installations. The main exhibit hall and drawing institute are due to open in the fall.
Thanks for the information :)
Thanks for taking us around Montrose. It looks like a fun neighborhood.
Thanks, Yeah I love chilled little neighborhoods like this one
It is a very nice place, good shops, cafes and awesome street performances
Sometimes thousands of people who celebrating St. Patrick's Day every year in Houston!
this is my neighborhood! thanks for showing love
no problem! its my favorite neighborhood in Houston for sure :D you are lucky to live there :) out of curiosity, how did you find this video?
i'm hosting friends from NY in a few weeks and wanted to send them footage of my neighborhood, this was the best one i found!
Awesome! good job I said it was so good then haha
Nice vlog Chris 👍 Loving that street art 👌
Thanks! Yeah street art is one of my favorite things in cities for sure!
Looks like a pretty cool area, Very hip! The veggie burger looked awesome😋 Just found your channel, we are travel vloggers too🙂 just supported your channel
You totally missed all the best parts of the neighborhood. It's been some time since I last lived in Houston, but I remember Montrose for it's vibrant gay and bohemian scene.
I remember Montrose back in 1985-1991-ish. #Numbers was basically my second education....LOL... Got tattoo work done at Miss-Fortune when they were open. Shopped the hell out of the various shops as well. I've been in Dallas now since 2010 and have only been back to that area 2 times. BUT........ I will be moving back to Houston at the end of this year as I do miss my friends that are still down there and it just being my home from the start. Dallas is nice, BUT..... STUPID FUCKING EXPENSIVE to live. LOL
@@rubberduky1829 I absolutely loved #Numbers. Back in 04 after I moved to Northern Colorado, I was hanging out with this guy that owned a gay/goth club (depending on the day of the week). I told him I just moved here from Houston and his eyes lit up and he asked if I’ve ever been to Numbers. That club is legendary and is the reason I’m so obsessed with 80’s new wave, synth pop and goth.
From the sound of your accent mate, just a little guess, you're not from Texas. I would say, Dublin?? Am I close???
i’m moving here!!
I know you where disappointed you could film what you wanted too, but still a good vlog, always interesting, thank you for sharing
Good vibes man. Love street art. What camera are you using again?
Thanks dude, didnt do much in this vlog but thought I would still post it anyway. Yeah I love street art too, definitely check it out when your there, go to the graffiti park that i went to in my exploring houston vlog and you will get some great shots. Ever since I started vlogging I have been using the Canon G7X mark 2, I like it but it definitely has its limitations since it can only do 60fps and sometimes the focus can be a bit off but I try and do my best with what i got lol. That little slow mo segment at 1:18 was using my gopro hero 6, I decided to take it to experiment filming more with it as it can do a high frame rate.. I might actually start taking it out more to add some slow mo shots to my vlogs :D
Jumping Places good idea, I love messing with slow mo, regular mo, and ramping up and speeding up shots only to slow them down at the end. It’s fun stuff
Nice video my friend 🙋🏾♂️❤️
Sorry I agree. That looked lame. Next time go to an Irish pub for an Irish experience on St. Patty’s day. Cmon bruh :)
Lol yeah, actually that was an irish pubs event though lol we were right next to the pub
Jumping Places yikes. Better luck next time. Cheers
Montrose is the Little Austin of Houston
Haha yeah i guess it is
Where exactly that "stop racism" stop sign at? I haven't seen that before
Hey there, it was behind the dan flavin art installation building
Boring montrose 😒Compare That To West Hollywood🌈❤️😍😘😘
NAAAAH... skip LA.
Too many fake people in WeHo and Angleinos seem to have a stick up their asses.
West Hollywood? LMAO!
