At the after party, Rober Plant went up to Ann Wilson and told her, "I've never liked when people covered Stairway To Heaven. Tonight, I loved it." What an honor.
Miguel Lopez 👊❤️WHAT AN HONOR INDEEED!!!!!
Miguel, guitar stores don't like it when you cover it either. :)
Forgot to add, thank you for that info. Did not know that.
to repeat what I, and others have been saying for at least 45yrs, Anne is one of - if not the best- female voices in the rock world. While this particular video refers to the honor deservedly bestowed to one of the progenitor bands of the heavy metal idiom, it'd be remiss to not mention the legacy of Heart since the Wilson sisters joined in the early 70's. I grew up listening to both, and watching Jimmy, Robert and John Paul watch their most over played masterpiece so majestically re-imagined left me simply verklempt. Had to watch it at least twice tonight to fact check my emotional reaction. Yup, still there.
Thank you Anne and Nancy
Ann and Nancy came from Washington State. Their story is similar to The Beatles. The Beatles had to go to Hamburg Germany to get noticed back home. Heart had to go to Vancouver Canada to get noticed. They said Vancouver was their second home. Well we in the Great White North say Thank you Heart for all the great memories!
The expression on Jimmy, Robert and John Paul's faces made me think that for the first time in almost 50 years they may have experienced the same joy listening to this song that we have had every single time it was played or performed. Incomparable performance never to be surpassed. Thank you for sharing.
Iacobus Tres 👊💙I think you just nailed what we all were feeling! What a perfectly said comment 🙌😊
I have to wonder know if that was the intention of this performance. If you're the obsessive type you could write a thesis paper on this performance.
It's hard to know how plant feels about it becuase he actually hates stairway to heaven
Incredible rock!
Wow - Jason Bonham on fire - and playing wearing his dad's hat and playing Bonzo's classic drum kit!
Yes the DW Amber kit.
Yup, The TIMPANI had to be there...not a complete set without it
The greatest cover ever.
Hands down.
As a huge Heart fan, this by far and away is their greatest performance. Ann and Nancy are like fine wine, they continue to get better with age. It still gives me chills every time I see and listen to it.
One of the most moving performances in Rock & Roll history. A tribute that could only be carried out by the Wilson sisters. Justice has been served.
You really cannot get much more perfect than that. Such an honor.
seattlephog 👊❤️Darn Right!
Rock legends paying homage to rock gods. Perfect.
But, Ann Wilson, what a voice for the ages. As a Navy vet she is my song of the siren, part of Greek mythology.
This performance makes me tingle. Which I believe what good music should do.
YES! YES! YES! I love your comment! Excellent!
The look on Jimmy Page's face throughout this says all that needs to be said.
👊❤️🗣💯
I’m a 66 year old man…I saw Zep live in Chicago in 75….this performance still brings a tear to my eye
Nice!!
Thank you kali
Robert was probably thinking of when he was writing this, it's his baby. And Jimmy is counting during that guitar solo. Best cover ever.
I’m a man that never cries. But whenever I watch this AMAZING PERFORMANCE, I weep
🙏💜
Really enjoyed your video/reaction/comments. Of course, the performance probably as close to perfect as can be done. Enjoyed seeing Bonnie Raitt, Yo Yo Ma, and Debbie Allen really rocking in the audience. And the end, seeing Jason Bonham honoring the three surviving members of Led Zeppelin- wonderful. A fantastic performance of a classic, and a wonderful reaction from you Kristin!
Can you hand me some tissue?
I sit here crying like a baby because of what I just witnessed for the 100th time.
Gets me every time! Great review!!!
Lawrence Ramirez 👊💙It is amazing! Just so very amazing!
Same here, brother. Same here.
First time seeing this. I remember as a kid back in the 70s watching a Barry Manilow concert on tv, and I saw women in the audience weeping. I asked my mom why they were crying, as I couldn't understand the reasoning behind it. I kind of thought it was funny. My mom told me that I would understand when I got older. Well, I'm 53 now, and I understand.
Im there with you.
When you were talking about seeing Jimmy Page's face when the choir came out, i was like nah, you haven't seen it yet, just wait til the full choir comes out. Haha!! This never gets old.
Trisa Gentry 👊❤️🗣Trisa! It was AMAZING!!
Trisha, No. No it does not.
That's what I said that is the best part for me.
I thought the same. The Led Zeppelin guys just kept getting farther and farther to the edge of their seat. I noticed that. LOL
No matter how many times I watch a reaction to this, I tear up every single time.
the Wilson sisters are AMAZING
I cannot watch this without tearing up. Knowing that the members of Led Zeppelin had such a great reaction to this performance just warm's my heart. Ann hit it out of the ballpark. Hands down, she is the greatest female rock vocalist EVER! Jason Bonham was the icing on the cake. Awesome job done by everybody!
Kimmie 👊❤️☺️💕 this was life changing..
Flawless cover. One of the stand-outs to me is the way Ann Wilson COMMANDED that stage at the end of the song....all these talented players giving it their all, but Ann was in charge. Epic voice.
I get chills watching this! I grew up on Led Zepplin and every girl WISHED she was one of the Wilson sisters! Truly phenomenal!
Heart is so talented! They do this song justice!
Ann Wilson can hold her own w/ anyone!! Great reaction
Ann Wilson is one of the greatest singers ever, I'm listening to music over 60 years this is one of the greatest performances I've ever seen. Kudos to all involved. Phenomenal performance!!!!
Your reaction of this performance always chokes me up.
🙏💕
I love this video so much. Apart from Ann and Nancy being brilliant, that look that Jason gives heavenward is almost heartbreaking. As a matter of interest, that orange plexi Ludwig drum kit is the actual kit that Jason's dad, John, used on the recording of the original "Stairway to Heaven". RIP Bonzo, a true legend and still much missed.
I'm 68 and this brings tears to my eyes.
All I can say is WOW!
One of my favorite cut shots was Yo-Yo Ma groovin 'on the vibe. He has been into many, many types of music in his career which is admirable. You are so right when you speak about the passage of time. I am 67 years old and I swear it feels lie such a short time ago I was 25.
Yoyo ma is so cool and hip.
The smile on Jimmy's face was worth the price of admission. Talk about legends honoring legends. Wow!!!
Ann Wilson is amazing and her cover of Stairway is absolutely awesome
One of the often overlooked things about this performance is the bowler hats. That is a tribute to John Bonham. What a performance!
Brings a tear to my eye every time Rock on
Willy roussel 👊💙🤘💯
I'm 68 years old, born 1951. I saw Led Zeppelin in 1970. Every time I watch this, I get so emotional. The one thing that pisses me off is how people forget the amazing talent of Nancy Wilson. Nancy is an amazing guitarist and vocalist.
Nancy is THE BEST,
Ann Wilson is a rock Goddess! I have loved her since I was a teenager back in the 70's. Thank you for this awesome reaction : )
Bridget McCracken 👊💙I was honored to do this 🙏💕
Ann wilson just a beautiful beautiful job. That's the best cover i have ever heard. Ann was on point not an off note she is amazing
Same here, I had such a cruah on her and Nancy.
I have sat next to Ann in her backyard around a campfire with friends and neighbors... 40 years ago... and her voice moved my hair !!!
And her voice just gets better.
Many full Heart shows (way close) on my channel !
so fortunate.....💕
Great reaction and wow you have a nice smile
Its difficult for me to figure out who was the big winner here. Led Zeppelin for this honor , Ann Wilson for this amazing performance, or us for being able to witness all this greatness in one room.
Honestly... that is the TRUTH... i was beyond words... i watch this all the time now... :)
It was a true Win-Win situation. (❁´◡`❁)
All of us won! Nice deep thinking. Made me wonder the same.
All of the above
I think it was David Letterman. He was being honored. Watched the performance. And was seated next to Jimmy freekin Page. 😁
Robert Plant had said he hated to perform this song , and this performance was so amazing , to see the members moved , is mind blowing , be proud Ann Wilson , your vocals are second to NONE
Zep + Heart = love and respect. Simple
And that is how it's done, I was crying too Kristin
Heart rocks this performance !
Now that was sung with love, respect and honor. Wilson Sisters rendition will never be beat!
I cry every time I watch this
This is EPIC! ☝️😊
Love those Tears...Rock is how it is.. It's in the Blood. But guess what..You look just as cool as always..keep it up..Praying for you.
It doesn't get any better than that!!!
I did it, yet again, tearing up within the first minute. Thankyou Nancy, thankyou Ann.
Great job my dear young lady!
I always find my self coming back to this video One of the Greatest live performance ever beside the great Led Zeppelin yes people who dislike this don't know what good music is!!!! Keep Rockin Beautiful
Simply an amazing performance just amazing
👏👏👏👏💯
Such an epic performance...and their tears really came on too when the choir came out all wearing the same hats as Jason to honor his dad.
CDO1113 👊💙☝️🥺 Thankyou! I was wondering about those hats!!! And you just told me 🙌
stunning? just stunning
sir john 👊💙🗣You don’t realize that I have a sinus infection and ear infection... and am in dire agony.. the fact that I was able to get through this masterpiece without screaming and you ask stunning? Just stunning.. it makes me want to post once a week for ppl like you
Nancy Wilson is still playing as amazing as ever, and still looks as beautiful as ever.
THE SONG OF OUR GENERATION.
I love rock & roll put another dime in the jukebox baby. This music will Never Die.
I have watched this at least 50 times, and each time feels like the first! Just. WOW!
I've been listening to this since 2013...still get choked up...THIS HAS GOT TO BE THE GREATEST COVER EVER DONE.....PERIOD....
And in 2024 NOTHING has topped it yet..
I'm binge watching these reaction vids with this performance. I can't get enough of this! LOVE it! Ann's smile as she knows she's nailing it and having fun doing so, just jaw dropping performances by EVERYONE on that stage that night.
👊❤️🗣You got that right! It brought tears to my eyes... bc it’s so beautiful to see the love between these legendary musicians! 🤘🙂
This is the 3rd reaction vid of this performance that I've watched in the last hour and the BEST one yet. Kristin Kali gets it. She seems as moved as I am.. Music, sweet music!
The only group that could cover LZ and do them justice.
John Fuentes 👊❤️Amen! Amen!!
Fantastic, fully emotional reaction and great appreciation for this Event. Thank you. Tears are streaming down my face.
It leaves you in a trance wanting more never ending bliss. Aching in your heart from nostalgia I rocked out to these rock queens in the 70s I love them! And Yes not just anyone can pull that song off Ann Wilson is a Goddess! That song SHAKES me to the core Chills that hurt it's so deep
Great performance.... This is not just a song it’s a prayer!
one of the best covers ever
SkulI Collector 👊❤️Skully, you said it! 💯
Ann and Nancy Wilson are rock goddesses, may they continue to rock on.
This is the BEST TRIBUTE I HAVE EVER WITNESSED
Heart is Legend 🙏
there's no more like this, this's pure gold Kristin pure liquid gold rock song , nice reaction, nice and emotional 👍🏻🤘🏼👍🏻🤘🏼👍🏻🤘🏼
🙂💕👍 🗣🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
GREAT Reaction! seen this before but always fun to revisit it. Plant is such a class act and Bonham's son, Jason (who played drums with Foreigner), filling in for his late Dad, the GOAT, wow. no words.
Perfect is right. Heart kicked this song in the arse and it really touched the lads deeply. I watched this many times and it gets better every time i see it. 👍
Now its February 2021 and this outstanding performance heals the souls who have suffered through covid . Thank you
April 8, 1970 - I saw them perform in Dorton Arena, Raleigh, North Carolina. They had released 2 albums at that point. Zep returned for 4 encores and on the 4th, RP said "We don't have anymore songs!" Suggestions from the crowd rang out. The next thing I knew is they said "We'll do Blue Suede Shoes." The Elvis version was the only one I was aware of and I thought it a strange one to choose. But now I understand the whole blues influence. Live and finally learn. The best and my most cherished concert I've ever been to.
If this performance doesn't bring tears to your eyes then you have no s o u l !!!
Well, then, like the big-legged woman from Black Dog, I reckon I ain't got no s o u l. I love the band, and I like the song, but the Kennedy Center Awards are just a political show. They are an empty annual spectacle, with this performance being no exception. Zeppelin were not even eligible for one of these awards, as they are officially supposed to be limited to living American artists.
@@briteness Another political paranoiac who see politic everywhere. If you click on this link fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kennedy_Center_Honors you will see and reckon that there are many non-American who received the Kennedy Center Award ex. 1986 Hume Cronyn (Canadian), Antony Tudor (British), 1988 Alexander Schneider (Hungarian), ... 2000 Plácido Domingo (Spanish), 2004 Elton John (British), 2008 The Who (British), 2010 Paul McCartney (British) and so on.
So, if the facts in your mind are reliable, why Led Zeppelin were not eligible for this award as you pretend, since those awards are officially supposed to be limited to living American artists.
What about non-Americans who, since 1986, have received this honor ???
Before writing nonsense, verify your sources and be factual...
Watching this performance and Page, Plant, and JPJ's reaction breaks me up every time. So moving.
I've watched this multiple times. I have been moved every time! 💕
Chills are real I've seen this about 25 times I have it on my playlist you didn't have to say much in your eyes tell the whole story
Thank-you Larry.. EVERYTIME I hear ANYTHING Zeppelin… it’s a masterpiece 🙏😳
I cried too its worth it memories
Imo you don't get music like this anymore, You go Heart!!!!!!!
I saw this around 5 years ago and it was one of the most beautiful things I have heard.
Maria S' 👊💙Yes! It sure is! I believe it!
Heart are legends in their own right, "These Dreams", is an awesome and beautiful song and one of my favorite songs of all time.
I can’t get enough of this. Thank you.
Beautiful!! Love this so much and I watch it over and OVER! ❤❤❤🤘🤘🤘
Suzanne Anderson 👊❤️Suzanne! You said it!
My one wish if I had one would be to bring the people of this world together like great awesome music like this does and maintain it forever. All the love and peace to you my beautiful soul.❤️✌️🙏
Thor 👊❤️Thankyou Thor!
Great tribute to one of the greatest songs and bands in rock history!
John Allen 👊💙🥰 this was so LEGENDARY... so EPIC!! I have no WORDS!
When I see videos like this, I feel like finally meeting people who share the same passion for Led Zeppelin . People don't realize that being a fan of Zeppelin (though in millions) in the 70s was sort of an underground thing. Most of the media did not know the band existed...by design, the band rarely gave radio and tv interviews then...and so Zeppelin had a mystique about them. Thank you Kristin Kali for making a 59 year old man cry while watching your video.
.... guys, guys! a bit of attention to Nancy Wilson playing guitar ....
AkelasanAK 👊❤️🗣I paid attention! She was KILLING IT!!
Absolutely!!! She was, I think, 59 at the time of this performance.
Yeah, she's never been given the voluble credit she deserves.
@@fonkenful ...also a great singer herself if Ann wasn't so amazing ...
Nancy can guitar like a man!!!
Your reaction is precisely how i feel EVERY time watch this.
I love that you shared comments when you had to oause, good way to fill that space - loved your reaction. :-) Thanks
Elizabeth Santersero 👊❤️Thankyou Elizabeth
100 % PURE MATERPIECE !!! 🤘👏
I have watched many videos of this performance, and each time I am simply blown away. To say that was impressive does not do it justice. Phenomenal... now that's a bit closer. B R A V O to all.
When you paused it I felt your pain. But the quote was a nice touch!!!
👊❤️🥰
Great job. Thanks. Every time I think I'm getting older I put on one of my tee shirts that says "I May be getting older but I've seen all the great bands" True too. People stop me all the time when wearing it and ask me about it. Its awesome! Keep rockin!
Gary Smith 👊❤️Keep Rockin is right Gary!!
@@KristinKali Never stop
imagine the pressure on the guitarist during the solo...
Hell yes, doin' a Jimmy Page solo in front of Jimmy Page!! Pure Pressure.......
Even the intro by Nancy, very clean.
Dont underestimate Joe lol
I found out that the guitarist is a personal friend and musician from the 70's as well. Shane Fontaine. He did a phenomenal job. Not everyone can pull it off and I think he was phenomenal. Add in Jason (John Bonham's son) and John's drum kit and the bowler hats which are tribute to late great John as well. I've watched this countless times and I still get overly emotional. They slayed it.
I think it's a magnificent version. So do the tens of thousands of people who gave the video a thumbs up. But more improtant than any of that, those three men up in the box (and the spirit of the fourth) thought it was magnificent. The love, pride, joy, and sense of awe on those faces said everything. One of the most daunting songs to cover, sung live in front of the masters themselves. And they nailed it.
I used to play this on my guitar and my 12 yr old daughter (now in her late 30s) would play the flute piece on my electronic keyboard and we’d make our own little concert together. I’ve done the same thing with my two precious granddaughters.. history has a way of repeating itself, doesn’t it? 🤔🌹
This is absolutely EXCEPTIONAL! What a talented family you have! 😳 music should definitely stay alive!
Just saw this recently.wow just the best cover ever, and in front of robert and jimmy.👍👍👍👍👍👍.i heard zeppelin was a driving force 4 heart. I don't cry, but had a couple drops.your reviews are real and so heartfelt. 😀👍
👊❤️🗣Thankyou Jay 🙏☺️💕
So much love for Jason Bonham. From little guy in Song Remains the Same to when I saw him play for his Dad in the Led Zeppelin Experience here in Toronto, hand on heart for our love of his great old Dad. So much love ... Nothing but love ... for Zeppelin, Jason and the the awesome ladies of Heart. Well played by all. So much love and appreciation!
Most excellent!! That one hits you where you live.
👊🔥Got that right Texadan!
Not sure if this comment has been made but just a few years later Heart was inducted into the RRHOF. Awesome job by the ladies!
This brings me joy to see joy o their faces!!!!!!!!!!
Thank God you discovered this bless you!!
Great reaction Kristin. It was obvious you were moved like the gazillion others that have heard this. The comment concerning rock legends honoring rock gods say it all. Keep them coming Kristin and thank you.
