I believe it is dangerous. Many people have experienced psychosis with permanent neurological symptoms, one person I know of has been bedridden, and many people experienced sexual disfunction, etc. The question is, why? My understanding and this is from following people like Morten Tolboll and Peter Wilberg who wrote a wonderful book Head, Heart abd Hara: Soul Centres of East and West. In this book, he goes into the the fact that different cultures and traditions have through their influence, especially linguistic, i.e ideas, stories, beliefs, influenced the development of awareness in different parts of the body. The West has emphasized the development of the head and the heart in the religious tradition of Christianity, while the Far East has encouraged the awarness of belly. Today in the time of globalisation where more and more people accept a Western way of thinking means that they are stuck in their head and have no access to their deeper embodied wisdom that predates the advent of the linguistic Ego. Interestingly, the word mystic comes from the Greek muein, to close the eyes or lips, while the word for infant comes from latin in-fant, not-speaking. This etymology points to a deeper truth that a mystic in his work is returning to this preverbal sense of Self that came in with incarnation and is present throughout our lifetime. Being stuck in your head also means the loss of this metaphoric speach of the hidden Self. The inability to understand the metaphoric speach also means the inability to liste to this inner meaning when others speak which explains the hell people live because they are really unable to RELATE to the inner being of other. The extreme expression of this is WAR. This means that many people miss the opportunity to heal and grow when they experience depression which is just an attempt of this inner self to call the persons attention inward. This missing of the call is the result why depression can later on develop into dis-ease and further into disease. Now imagine such a person attempting to RAISE their kundaline whilst they have their whole life feared the FALL into their Being. That is why as Wilberg points out there is a prejudiced use of methaphors that speak of light and UP instead of DOWN, why Eart is associated with Hell and raising vibration is associated with spirit etc. Many Far Easter traditions have know this phenomena of being stuck in your mind as Zen sickness. Kundalini is not dangerous but modern way being makes life dangerous. Many people without raising their Kundalini have become mad, ill or have died. Therfore there must be a proper intellectual framework why Kundalini can be dangerous and what are the ways to overcome this.
@@gideonros2705 You are free to believe whatever you wish of course, some people it is true without practice and work can have problems. As of your sexual dysfunction that is an interesting statement (and a brilliant fear tactic) as the vast majority actually have the opposite. It is interesting you say Kundalini is not dangerous but the Western ways are. What are your western ways you say are dangerous. The American Shamans are in the West, are their practices dangerous? Kundalini goes by many names and does not belong to the east it is in every culture and always has been. And again your fear statements of many people, many people.... I talk of the dangers of Kundalini and how to avoid them. I make that very clear. Perhaps the authors you quote did not know of these things. Let us also remember driving, having a shower, going to school, eating, walking down stairs are also dangerous as people have died and other bad stuff doing all of these things.
@@theawakeningenergy Intresting that the only Western spiritual tradition you thought was legitimate at pointing out was an American Scamanic tradition as if Europe has none. Firstly, these are not fear statements but testimonials from people who had been on a spiritual path for many years and experienced debilitating phenomena. What they knew or didn't is for debate. Gopi Krishna had at his fingertips a thousand year legacy of India, and he had a harrowing experience with Kundalini. The people who are raising legitimate questions are part of the spiritual community, and have been on a long road of spiritual development and are not part of some 'cabal' who are trying to take power by fear mongering. That is a totally paranoid stance and a way to delegitimising others. Considering that we have reports from Japan, hundreds of years back, exemplified by master Hakuins biography, seems that these issues were always present and are a legitimate part of spiritual life. For some more than others. Second I never said I had sexual disfunction resulting in any spiritual practice which is a failure in basic reading from you not to mention you've totally misunderstood my point about Western 'way'. The Western way in a historical spiritual development of the West is the exclusive emphasis on intellectual development and a type of awareness which understands the whole of life as I - You relationship which is inherently objectifying turning the whole world into a commodity. This was well explored by Martin Buber. The second most identified part of the Western way is the incessant busyness and the equating of human life-time as the time in production. Therfore productivity is also linked to health. Unhealthy humans do not produce therefore they are valued less. Therfore as Marx analysed the whole of life experience is alienating. Accepting the head as the exclusive loci of awareness results in alienation from the body because the Self now looks at the body as a thing insted of as an extension and expression of awareness. Are American Shamans leading the US, EU or China or are the bosses of multinationals? Who has more influence in shaping the spiritual life of modern humans?? I don't understand why you even brought up American Shamans when I was clearly pointing at the exclusive intellectual and, therefore, materialistic development of the West, which is profoundly alienating. The end result of alienation is that people are head strong and understand their bodies as objects of 'I' and more and more part of the overview of the medical-industrial system. Such a person will always have a very negative experience with kundalini if they approach these traditions in a purely intellectual way without the ability to stabilise their awarness in the Hara or Lower Dantien. Simply put the negative aspects of kundalini is because there is to much heat in the head when the energy rises upwards, because the practitioner has wrongly been thought or wrongly understood that enlightenment is something that happens in the mind. That is the trapp which waits modern people whose being has been shaped by the modern cultural values in the West which as Wilberg pointed out are the result of taking the Head as an exclusive LOCI of awareness. There. I gave you the A-B-C explanation. If you still don't comprehend then what kind of teacher will you be when tomorrow any problems will be dismissed as fear mongering and basically lies instead of understing that we are dealing with the modern forces that have shaped the moder mentality.
