    I spent a few years working for BCR and helped in the construction of one of the slugs . Its funny been away many years now but its still in my blood.

    Many thanks for posting this David! The video really helps jog my memory of what freight cars were around in '95. Nice catch of the M420B unit as well. This was just before the end of caboose operation south of Prince George. Thanks for the nice close shots of the cars too, I can even read the numbers on some. Wonderful!

    749 formerly saw service on Tennessee Coal Hauler Oneida & Western.First it wore Mint Green & later went to Red,White & Blue.It was acquired late spring of 1987.Later settled on Dakota,Minnesota & Eastern.

    For many years, they ran speeders ahead of the trains to watch for rockslides and other hazards. I miss those little yellow carts with their "shish-shish, shish-shish" cadence as they scooted down the rails. Alas, you can't argue with the versatility and all-weather comfort of a hi-rail pick-up truck!

      Yes I have ridden a speeder in the early morning and it can be chilly! The high rail or speeder was a great warning that a train was imminent.

    752 was bought new since late 1980,It later went D.M.& E.

      Built July 1980 according to Canadian Trackside Guide.

      +George Kusz They are left open often during shunting operations and on hot days to provide an extra air flow in the cab - no air conditionong on many older locomotives!

    You need to get that camera serviced. Auto focus is lousy.

      Remember that was 1990s technology. Videocamera equipment has improved vastly over the last 20 years!
