My team and I had the displeasure of running into T2 Drama Alert in our second OD match, they full held our spawn with off-roles. Tbf we were only a 4k team but it was obvious they were gonna be top tier contenders team

I reckon American Tornado is full of talent. But they aren't really better than British Hurricane.
They got REALLY lucky with their meta, while Hurricane can compete in Any given meta.
Time will tell which is really better.
But their players are young, and talented. Hopefully they don't peak before they come of age, because the players at the OWL level are Extremely talented and very well trained.
Let's not forget that South Korea, and China are out there as well. Team CC is one of, if not the scariest team I've ever seen in T2 Overwatch.

@@thecoloryellow8103 True. I'd also wager that after this year's Gauntlet Asia performance, that a few Team CC players are going to be picked up for OWL as well.
But it is still a fact that the vast majority of player pickups come from Korea.
Their scene is still the best, and so is their talent pool overall.
But Team CC's win will prompt China to invest more into their local talent.
NA doesn't have that issue since they have money and can always just import players.
But the American Tornado kids are very talented, and prove that NA can produce local talent if they invest into it, rather than relying on imports all the time.

i think you forgot about the game of Obey vs Odyssey was 4-1 to Obey. they rolled them. At least BH vs AT was close while Obey vs Odyssey was a roll

To be honest, it was an immensely close game, and I think if BH and AT were removed, EU was by far the stronger region. Plus, on another day, I think the showmatch could have gone either way. EU is the stronger region right now.
Also BH would have been playing on high ping
@@Aaronies They both were. Ping was increased on both sides for a level playing field.
I also think BH had the tank and support edge. The big difference was in the dps line. Hydron and Speedily are cracked out.

In Hurricane’s defense, they had a ping disadvantage for four maps, while Tornado had a ping disadvantage on three maps.

You could also point out that NA got basically the perfect meta for American Tornado and still only took it 4-3 vs a hurricane team that have been shown to basically meta proof for most of a year. Also I think obey alliance crushing odysey gives a better grasp or the avg across the two regions

ngl i don't think you can say one is better than the other based on a 7 map series which could have gone either way. AT was playing with their best meta whereas BH can play most metas at that level. I don't think that this match determines regions either because Obey 4-1'd Oddysey. So #1 and #1 had seven maps, #2 and #2 EU dominated. But, you can have that thread of hope that NA>EU lmao

They barely won a showmatch against British Hurricane, aka the 2021 London Spitfire. If they're scraping out wins against British Hurricane, who was a bottom team in OWL 2021, I don't see them going even with Atlanta frankly.

Not really. OWL NA sure, but contenders NA isn't superior to EU contenders. AT barely won a 4-3 series against BH in their best meta on normal ping (min ping was 140, but since the last map was on NA servers BH was at 200+ ping). Any other meta BH would have won, plus look at the odyssey vs Obey game. Both NA second seeds and Obey wiped the floor with them.

I would say overall NA is not a great region for “E-Sports” proportionally it doesn’t produce the same amount of talent as other developed regions. In this case it comes down so simple underestimation, NEVER EVER underestimate a Teenager who thinks their shithot 😂🤣

Even then the #1 NA isn't better than #1 EU on any other META imo. BH have been fairly meta proof during the entire year, while AT have been shaky but still good. This was AT's best possible META, while just a good one for BH and they still dragged it to 4-3 on ping. But yet again this is my opinion being a fan of EU.
