This exactly. It's so common to see some drama unfold or the devs to just lose passion because they had no direction to begin with. Yet here, they pulled off the impossible and released a fucking fangame of all things *7 YEARS* later. It's amazing.

I usually am a person who hates this sorta thing but for this game it fits SO FUCKING WELL That I immediately headcanon the underground we see to just be a BRANCH of like the sorta cave ecosystem we see in both games.

I was personally shocked to find out it was kept in development for this whole time after the demo first launched. I genuinely thought it was dead and had forgotten about it ever since. Then when the news suddenly came I was shocked. What an unexpected comeback! It truly is better later than never.

Most Undertale fangames get cancelled after only around a year of being in development, either because the developers lose interest, the players lose interest, etc. I feel like you guys could really teach other indie devs a thing or two, since you've stayed so devoted to this project despite having taken several years to finish. Hopefully like the OG Undertale, he will be ok with the team that made Yellow to port it to other consoles in the future. While the sales and profits from said game go to Toby and his team and studio while giving some of the profits to the people behind Yellow. @@PrismTheLoser
After 7 years of hard work, creativity, and most importantly passion on creating a prequel that could possibly tie in ends to the original game. We now have officially reached that finish line I just want to say thank you for everyone who worked and was part of the project for finally getting it done Toby Fox will officially be proud of you.

You know your fangame is REALLY good when people change the narrative of Undertale so that the humans get resurrected after the pacifist route just so Clover can live, reunite with his friends and have a happy life. This game brought me to tears so many times and I applaud you all for going through with it!
I love the sheer dedication behind this project. The animation really shows how much the community is willing to go far to for a game that impacted them so much.

I love how Toby is not just open, but very accepting of fan projects. if he wanted, he could probably work with you guys to make the other colors too. Honestly, that would be really really cool.
This fan game is telling the other souls story and how they died, in the photoshop flowey the yellow soul is using a gun just like the player of undertale yellow
Finished the Pacifist route like an hour ago…I can definitely see why this game took as long as it did. As someone who wants to become a game dev myself, this is legitimately inspiring. I almost don’t want to play the genocide route just because that ending was so perfect. This game is legitimately on par with undertale, and I commend everyone who worked on it. Genuinely, the best UT fangame I ever played.

Man, this is great. I remember playing the demo, what, 5 years ago now? This is one of the only real, full, Undertale fan games to ever come to fruition, and I really respect that. This is truly amazing.

I just realized tjat of all the fallen humans, I’ve *never* seen _anyone_ *ever* debate Clover. Like, I’ve seen more disagreements about *Frisk* than I’ve seen about Clover, and that’s saying something. Normally, there’s at least like 5-10 different competing ideas for each of the fallen humans that get cycled out every few months, but I have *never* seen *any* alternatives for the Yellow soul. Just goes to show ya that all it takes to make a great game is passion, inspiration, hopes, and dreams. You guys really hit it out of the park. That ending got me crying for hours (and also sent me into a deep depression lasting jsut shy of a month where I’d occassionally break into tears and sob over Clover’ death for 3-5 hours). You guys did a great job, and I hope someday soon I get so see Clover once more. Love yal! Yeehaw! 💛
Love how you added the vent puzzle just because it was such a prominent feature of Undertale’s marketing. If Deltarune Chapter 3-4 are still a ways away from being released, then this is probably the perfect thing to satiate the lack-of-content fatigue. I hope everyone who worked on this is proud, because they should be! This is amazing, and I can’t wait for what this team has next in store!

This is, by far, the coolest, most faithful fanmade Undertale prequel I’ve ever played! Pretty much all the gameplay, jokes, story elements, and charms feel so akin to the original Undertale here! Although the story itself is non-canon, it feels like it could lead to the original events of the game. It was amazing to play through the game from Clover’s perspective. Thank you, Team Yellow and MasterSwordRemix, for all of your amazing efforts and being able to share this with us!

Okay, I'm gonna be real. This might be one of the best, most faithful fan games I've ever played. It is an honest to goodness prequel with so many secrets to find, complete with routes that vary even more than the ones in OG Undertale. The charm is all there, the emotion is all there, the creativity is all there, everything - it feels completely authentic. The polish is so complete that Toby himself might as well have made it at times. On the same token, it brings so much new to the table, and it'd feel wrong to spoil even a crumb of it in this comment because it's all so good and it's all _free._ Props to everyone who worked on this project - as someone who was a freshman in highschool when it was announced and has been waiting since, it truly paid off and then some.

7 YEARS waiting since the demo released back in 2015-2016 and I couldn't be more happier with the wait.
This fangame is one I have been checking on and I am glad I have. Most fangames I have watched and waited for have mostly been canceled, delayed, or not done.
I am glad y'all was able to stick onto this project and fully complete it. Thank y'all for rewarding all of our patience.

This project was in development as far back as in 2016, when the UNDERTALE fandom was in its infancy. I haven't been following its development at all, and in a post-DELTARUNE Chapter One and Two world I thought the project was on hiatus, if not cancelled.
Welp, guess I was wrong, because you guys pulled through and have finally unleashed your passion project onto the masses! It's surreal to see this fangame completed, and I'm definitely looking forward to playing it very soon. In the meantime, congratulations to everyone involved in the project for making your dreams come true!
Dude I remember seeing the demo YEARS AGO and I was just getting back into Undertale and Deltarune through some play through videos that popped up and I’ve been going down the rabbit hole all over again, AND I SEE UNDERTALE YELLOW LAUNCH TRAILER! My god, I never thought I'd see the day where not only a fully original and great Undertale fangame is made but it's actually a full videogame rather than just skipping everything until you reach sans. Beautiful!
Not to mention that tha game is fully original and does not rely on fan favorites to carry it's story.

The humor was spot on, the music was worthy of the original, the graphics were _better_ than Undertale like a bonafied official sequel, it crafted a good story that had me hooked, characters that I'll remember, great battles, all around a HELL of an experience that kept me entertained for 12 hours with two 20-30 minute breaks for food!

The way you guys made me feel the same emotions for these characters just like undertale did when I played that the first time is insane. Honestly me and ALOT of people think this should be canon, Toby himself should play this game it’s that good. Thank you guys so much for putting in so much hard work into this, you guys deserve a HUGE break. If this is the end for your team it makes sense after how long this took, but if not and you guys will make more stuff (even if not UT related) I promise I’ll be waiting for what y’all make next. I Just finished the game. Pacifist route.
Aside of two noisy bosses, most know who they are... I enjoyed the tar out of this game. It Certainly lives up to the legacy it is setting to share with. I really enjoyed every single character I encountered. Honestly, despite their boss-short-comings. I cannot really think of a single main cast character I really didnt like. The music is top tier. Certainly what I came to expect from an Undertale based game. I adored the art style as well. But oh GOSH, the music was just killer all around. Especially after finding out the tracks are in the game folder in ogg format.
The final boss of pacifist was just incredibly touching and enjoyable. The visuals, background and the music. What a culmination, that boss I poured all I learned into. I was struggling at first, but I forgot about a single move taught to me early on. I was then able to boldly and confidently trudge along helping out. The end did catch me seriously off guard. I was almost in tears a few times from the final fight, but I was then driven over the edge realizing what was happening thereafter. The music, the story, the characters, everything just fit and ended this fun and emotional trip so well.
I honestly hope this may not be the end of this endeavor, but If moving on to a different game is what you all do. I salute what you did here, and cant thank you enough for the work and effort put forth...
Will I go back and do the opposite route. I dont think so. I have grown too attached to these well formed characters to want to hurt them. -.- Despite the somewhat happy ending, I think there was much more hurt unintentionally placed on them than I would have personally wanted...

i really appreciate this game. its vibe reminds me of deltarune and sometimes even mother 3. it nails undertaly humor. it's fun, with usual monsters easy to run away from, and the bosses much more difficult than in the original undertale. the music is great. overall, it's worth playing, no fraud, and well thought. congratulations to the authors

i've just played the game and i have to say, it made me feel something even undertale did not. while starts off as a cute world, very much inspired by ut, at some point it becomes a crazy adventure, filled with heartbreaking moments and a unique, captivating atmosphere. and the pacifist ending - it made me shed a tear.
i'm absolutely in love with what you've done.

I just finished 2 of the game's routes. Honestly up there in quality with Undertale itself. I am blown away that such a faithful yet original fangame ended up being this good, and FREE?! Truly an amazing experience you guys crafted. Loved every moment with it and still have one route left to try!

To the team behind this game, thank you. The first demo was released 7 years ago. So much work to put into, so many ideas scrapped, and so many hours dedicated to a passion project. At any point during those 7 years you could’ve quit, much like most other hundreds of fangames that never saw the light of day.
But you didn’t quit. This game being released is a testament to the strength an online community can have. You pushed onwards through sheer passion, dedication and of course, determination. Thank you.
