Timothy Chalamet is a good actor, it's the script that seems to force a whimsical theme making WW more of a few character than he actually was in the books and prior films
100% the actor himself seems fine, it's this cookie cutter overly sanitised script. They could make intresting commentary like the og 2 movies or like barbie recently but no it's this empty soulless same story that's been told 100s of times.
Hollywood need to make movies and tv shows how they used to, they need to use less cgi and more realism, I want to have with movies and tv shows a warm feeling a nostalgic to it so they still feel new and fresh doesn’t matter how time passes every time I watch them I still have the same feeling so I can watch them again and again and never get bored of them.
Why are we making a prequel of the Willy Wonka Ronald Dahl despised? The whole reason the family agreed to make Charlie and the Chocolate was to make those wrongs a right. 2005's Charlie and the Chocolate is still one of the most well-adapted movies from a book.
Well adapted, maybe. Well cast? Definitely not. Gene Wilder and the WHOLE cast were perfect to play each part. It’s the characters that really make it. And the 2005 version does not have that, regardless of how faithful it is
@@terrortower666 But Ronald Dahl HATED Gene Wilder in the role. That was actually his LEAST favorite part. He also hated the name change, getting rid of Charlie’s father, and many other things. 2005’s movie when it comes to what Ronald Dahl would’ve liked, is far superior. That’s why they made it to right the wrong. Plus, the 1970’s version was only made because Quaker Oats wanted to sell candy with the “Wonka” name.
Imo it looks like how other current British films are. Twee, whimsical and sickly sweet with forced ‘nicely’ stuff, like a sprinkling of fake fairy dust. This was not how the original film was portrayed, nor the Dahl book
Whoever made this upload it's not a remake it's basically a prequel on a young Willy wonka before He became a famous chocolatier... And from what I've seen so far I like it to me I think it's gonna be more closer to gene Wilder's portrayal... I like Johnny Depp I just don't like his version of Willy wonka
I'm gonna have to disagree with you about Chalamet,it is a mystery why some people like him keep getting roles,he's a wooden stiff actor, who has the charisma of a sock.
I take it you don't like the Johnny depp version either? Quick Question did you watch this video because A) it was about Timothee Chalamet B) It was about Wonka
Signed back in just to like this video, good job keep it up
Thank you so much man I will definitely keep going!

I AGREE
Why are we having a prequel to the one that Ronald Dahl HATED?
Because it’s a classic. But I agree, we don’t need nor want a prequel. Let alone one that looks as bad as this!
So the most important thing is the nostalgia?

Damn I never knew Roald Dahl hated the original movie
Fair Point
I am actually looking forward to Chalamet’s portrayal of Willy Wonka. This movie looks fun and innovative.

Don’t forget the knowing humour too ! how very original 🙄
I can't disagree with you there I just hope it doesn't have an agenda

Depps portrayal of wonka was more accurate to the book, Gene’s take is still a classic though
Thank you for your insight
Quick Question did you watch this video because
A) it was about Timothee Chalamet
B) It was about Wonka
Dont waste your money. Gene wilder is the only willy wonka.
I'm gonna have to disagree with you about Chalamet,it is a mystery why some people like him keep getting roles,he's a wooden stiff actor, who has the charisma of a sock.
I respect that I can see why people don't like Chalamet but we'll see if he can pull off Wonka
Gene Wilder and the MUSIC of Leslie Bricusse makes Willy Wonka. Leave it alone!
I take it you don't like the Johnny depp version either?

people want a good story, not a sermon
Please explain what you mean
@@jasonlee6288 a good story needs to to sermonize the message, a good story is the message and can be interpreted in many ways
