I was lucky enough to watch George Best from his debut in the youth team and all his career along with Dennis Law & Bobby Charlton . There are certain players who have played for United, Cantona , Robson , Keane , Ronaldo , Giggs & one or two others who United fans will remember forever . Scholes is definitely up there with the very best . I was once at function at OT and a group of people were asking Alex Ferguson about Ryan Giggs who had just made his debut . Sir Alex told us he had a better player waiting to come back from a injury he said he will be a world class player , when we asked the players name he said . Paul Scholes . My all time favourite player and the best British born player in the last 30yrs. No one comes close. WORLD CLASS. Can honestly say, even Charlton shouldn't be talked about in the same breath. Used to think he had 'sights' on his boots, cos his shooting was so accurate, and the way he dictated the game, I've never seen anyone do it like he did. Would be impossible to leave out of Utd's all time best eleven. Scholes, Ronaldo and Best would be the first 3 names on the sheet. Oh and by the way, Utd have just got rid of his replacement - Angel Gomez Knocker (mufc till death)

Middleton is a special place. I grew up there, went to Pauls earlier schools. Probably lived a similar life to Paul up to a certain age. I still think about that place every year and i haven't there since 99. The only thing you ever saw young boys do, was play football. There was nothing else, but it created memories that place. Poorest place i ever lived in, but the happiest i have been. A genius born in a place where young boys literally only play football, and they do it all day. Im not surprised a legend in the making started there.

Paul Scholes was my favourite player ever at United. He was a magician. One of my favourite moments was his header against City *Stockport* in injury time at the etihad with about 15 seconds to go and won us the game. He could shoot from anywhere and hit the back of the net. His goal in the champions league against Barcelona will probably go down as his most important goal ever as we went on to reach the final and win it that year. Top video lads. 👏🏻

Met him in the nags head on his night out. Made time for everyone to have a photo personified his down to earth nature. On the pitch he had to be an attackers delight. He’d give the ball so early with a long pass or a quick flick round the corner into space. Then anything round the 18 yard he’d arrive in perfect time and was lethal. Difficult to pick one stand out moment with Scholesy, because they were many, if i had to pick one it would have to be that 40 yard screamer he scored against barcelona in the cl semi final at old trafford.... even messi was jealous of that goal
I always felt privileged to watch Paul Scholes, how lucky were we that he played for our great club! Many great moments that I was there for but Inter Away was a special moment that season, sometimes goes under the radar. Love the channel lads, 👍
Used to come up from Derby to watch him in youth team at Old Trafford, different class then different class always. All the things he did and memories but the one thing i always recall was that youth team, once he got the ball Ben Thornley and Keith Gillespie both started to run the flanks and Scholesy would find one of them with a pass to their feet
*Scholes Vs Gerrard:* Gerrard *retired at 35 having never won the EPL* & hardly played his final year. *Scholes retired at 36 winning the EPL.* Half way through the following season Utd were struggling. Scholes came back & Utd just missed out on the title. *The following year Utd win the EPL & Scholes retires again aged 37/8. Utd haven't won the EPL since.* Whereas Liverpool have gone on to win the title without Gerrard. *That sums the difference up.*

His brilliance for me was his awareness of everything around him and knowing where he was going to put the ball before it got to him and having the ability to makes those passes, immediately and without looking up many times ! That's the difference between the opposition being able to shut attacks down and not being able to do a single thing about them. Scholes without doubt made us extremely dangerous on the break.

Scholes was a fantastic player through his whole career. Not just for one thing either. Earlier in career he played higher up the pitch. Then alongside a midfield partner. But - in my humble opinion - in the tail of his career - I think we saw a player who people saw in training more than we saw in public. That later era was one of enormous 'worldy' passes to the feet of wingers. And of knitting the play and game together. Dictation, possession, time and time again balls would land at the feet of Valencia, Ronaldo, Giggs. Pinpoint. Like a missile with a latest gen warhead. Game after game - like a machine. In that role he created a 'Quarterback' alike play, and even when old oppo struggled to get close. I actually think towards the end he used to get pissed off as the team lost the ball a lot in the last year or so. He kept the ball, but the team didn't and that increased defensive workload. It was very fitting in the year where in an approx sense we were top form and Barca were top form that the game at OT was decided by a Scholes gem that is now written into history. 1-0. Paul Scholes. And that was a peach. I also remember a game against Arsenal that IIRC was running long due to injuries. I think he was pissed off to be brought on very later. In only a few minutes, he put in two or three crunchy tackles, had Arsenal in meltdown and he delivered at least 3 world class passes. One was pinged. One was where he interchanged with about 4 passes and clipped an absolute magic ball that Wayne Rooney totally screwed, and the last one was 70 yards pass from a VOLLEY. And this was in his twilight era. That was the capability. The unspoken side outside of that was 700+ games, and across those games an amazingly high level of consistent play - and an amazing Career. I happen to personally dig that he was in true red devil style not just magic on the ball. But a red devil off it, and if you kicked him, you were gonna be kicked. Don't ever remember Scholes rolling around much. What-A-Player.
Watched him play in a charity game at trafford fc. Not normally arsed about pics but this is Paul Scholes we're talking about. He tried to back door it after the game but I was wise to it and waiting. He was sound and i got my pic. 👌

Amongst the best EVER and no one loves utd more than me but he wasnt even that close to Gazza. Gazza was to 8's what Maradonna was to 10's what Ron was in inside forwards what Vidic was to ball attacking CB's lol. Gazza read game almost like Daily Blind, had way more through ball ability much better left foot. Sorry to be blunt but our current crops of players needs to be schooled in the Paul Scholes way. If Barcelona derives inspiration from him and emulates him..why can’t our club do it? The guy is still there..all the time, why can’t they build the academy in his image? Why not Manchester United? That would be the best compliment and respect to a player

Ok, a weird thing happened to me today, fed up on lockdown, the old mental health not great, decided to walk from urmston to old Trafford just to have my dinner Sat outside the ground, of course, the seats are gone, so walk past hotel football, whos there.....only scholes and webby! Lol, I mumbled summat stupid I dunno but weird seeing one of ya hero's stood a yard or two away, all I can remember is I said hello or summat and both of them looked at me like I had two heads haha if looks could kill I'd be dead haha, no offence taken tho, I'm not one of these hang about hotels for celebs people lol all I wanted was to find somewhere to eat my sandwich after my long walk lol just thought I'd share this with ya, love the channel anyway today I found out what it feel like to be one of the common people haha! Can only imagine how much harassment scholes gets so it's all good.

Amongst the best EVER and no one loves utd more than me but he wasnt even that close to Gazza. Gazza was to 8's what Maradonna was to 10's what Ron was in inside forwards what Vidic was to ball attacking CB's lol.
Gazza read game almost like Daily Blind, had way more through ball ability much better left foot. Perhaps the best weight of pass in history was a better dribbler than Giggs was good in air and had a will to win like Keane.
