Was baptized Catholic, never properly taught and formed. Became a protestant evangelical pastor for 20+ years. Finally saw the light, now a confirmed Catholic, worshipping our beautiful GOD in an FSSP parish (our parish is packed and growing) in Canada (a country that is a protestant-pagan spiritual wasteland). Ave Maria.
God bless you Sister! I have reverted to my Catholic faith after wandering in the desert of Protestantism. You have beautifully articulated my exact experience.
Elaine Ford I am a Former Hindu that became Catholic then I wondered into so many Denominations I got Baptized in Our lady of Good Council Catholic church in Plymouth Michigan but then I moved to Florida so I ended up at life point Christian Church it is the Congorational Church the broke away from its Mainline Denomination but then Pastor Phil Aryies stating preaching the Calvanist doctrine that if you sin you can not return to God so I left and went to the Episcopal church but then I ended up in one Wiccan online school so o Qiutted it so now I am in Northland Church and I became a missionary for the Lyft Disability Network but I found out the dark side of it some of the people are Preachers Kids who are Adults from the Baptist church and their Dads are too Calvanist they are not allowed to go to the Beach and they are not even allowed to watch any Movies not even any Christian movies including Heaven is for real as for Northland church the Faith Ability Sunday Bible Studies are lead by one broken family the wife loves the Catholic church and the Husband is Former Catholic who insults the cross that has the body of Jesus on it so now I am planning to return to the Catholic church starting from Confession
I am so happy for you! I suppose God allows us to walk these convoluted paths so we may have empathy for others who finally make their way into the fullness of the faith and the One True Church. The Catholic Church will never fail you, and you will receive God's Grace not based on information or intellect, but his mercy offered in the Sacraments.
After you get to Confession, you can receive the Holy Eucharist. The actual body of Christ will give you the grace and power to lead a holy and happy life! Stay far away from protestant religions - they are based on heresy. Study and practice your Catholic Faith and be prepared to defend it...........may God Bless you!
God bless you dear sister Elaine. Nothing can compare to the beauty and history of Our beautiful Catholic Church. If I live to be 100 yrs old will never learn all there is about Our beautiful Holy Church.
I grew up Catholic. I eventually ended up in a non-denominational church. Well more than one. In so many ways they thrill you with the entertainment and fancy stuff. Eventually that wears off. I began to feel empty after some time. I took time off of Church to research. I eventually found my self back home. However I learned about my faith this time around. Boy was I poorly taught. Now that I am learning I feel closer to God . Glad to be back home.
I grew up in England. Should have been brought up Catholic as my Dad was Polish Catholic. But after the WII. He lost his religion. Meet and married my young U.S. Air Force husband. His family was strict Methodist. Treated me so unkind. Were so anti Catholic. Never came across this until I came to Northeastern Pa. meet and made many lovely Catholics people that drew me to the Catholic Church.
"When we seek to kill authority, we kill in our minds the One who gave us that authority. We create God in our image." (32:24) Brilliant! I am a former Baptist pastor who became Eastern Orthodox because, in part, I was sick and tired of a brand of Christianity that constantly made up new churches on wishes and whims. We Orthodox have differences with Roman Catholic practices. But, I can respect Rome's view of Christ above that of the craziness in the Protestant world. God bless you for posting this.

I love Sister Rosalind! I'm a revert and when the Holy Ghost brought me home, I was appalled, saddened and disappointed to see that most Catholic churches had become Protestantized! Our Catholic Prelates need to understand that they will be held accountable for destroying our Catholic church so they can please man instead of Our Lord. Yet, I knew that I was 'home' to the Church Christ founded and have been blessed to find two very traditional Catholic churches. We need to have beauty in our Churches to give Glory to God who is beautiful! Look at nature all around us, that should give us a sense that the God we serve cannot be anything but beauty Himself!
Espe Villasenor Except the removal of the first people's religion the great spirit, and yes the people that build (bilked) this country, ruined and at times killed the Native persons,to make them Catholics and yes prostant,my Seneca native father, called our founding fathers ' our thieving fathers. Also there was no real garden of eden, talking snakes and women make inferior from a male rib. Give me a break
I am also a revert, back to the Catholic church, back home. I have found a happiness long lost in the way of my life. But I am not blind and I know that hell is full of priest and Catholics that have breached our trust and have damaged the Church. I can't do anything about it, I can only live my faith and influence the life of those close to me.
My family has indigenous roots to the people of Central & South America, & I hold no hostility towards Europeans. I have some European ancestry as well. I found this & thought that this is an interesting article: God intervened through Our Lady of Guadalupe to evangelize the Americas, explains Guadalupe expert www.catholicnewsagency.com/news/god_intervened_through_our_lady_of_guadalupe_to_evangelize_the_americas_explains_guadalupe_expert I am not oppressed as a woman in the Church. The simplest, most direct, and fruitful way of living opposite of a "barren harvest", is St.Therese of Lisieux's "Little Way" of spiritual childhood. It cuts through all kinds of complications and distinctions WITHOUT detracting in any way from Christ's own life, passion, way to Calvary, death .. and Resurrection. Where's the simplicity? Observe little kids ( .. no older than five or six, preferably younger) babbling in unhampered trust their wants, complaints, love, questions to their Daddy and Mommy. Take THAT as our model and transpose it spiritually, and learn to "babble" in the same unhampered way with our Heavenly Father about anything and everything in our hearts. And there's yer "Little Way". I'm "Cowboy Bob" and I beg daily for the grace to become that "Little"!

I did much worse. Became a crazyJ.W. for 19yrs. I was brought up in the Anglican Church in England. I converted to the Catholic in 1978. After living in the U.S. For 9 yrs.
Sounds like she tried very hard as a Jehovah's Witness and initially (presumably 'broad church' though could be evangelical or even Anglo-Catholic) Anglicanism before encountering our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, body, soul and divinity, in the Mass. So rather than asking Jesus into her heart she eats his Flesh and drinks his Blood. (The first 'protestants' fell away from the Faith in John 6, after all.) Having a 'personal relationship with Jesus by asking Him into your heart' as some magical mantra (sorry, pan-Evangelical 'conversion experience') guaranteeing 'eternal security' is, of course, code for a host of material and formal heresies. It's the Holy Spirit who indwells every Christian, and that by our Baptism (Romans 6-8). That's the one baptism (Ephesians 4) by water and the spirit (John 3), not just the latter, i.e., the so-called 'spiritual baptism of the true/elect/sincere believer'. And Faith is a gift, also received by the Spirit's indwelling through Baptism, along with Hope and Charity, not something we must have/do/feel before we can be saved.
I fully understand the rationale for the denial of baptismal regeneration by a number of Evangelical Protestant sects, having been a member of three of them: Disciples of Christ (9-17yo), thence Southern Baptist (17-20yo) and finally Dispensationalist Bible Church (20-27yo, after which I was a confirmed Anglican 27-51yo, and now Catholic). The argument, which I first heard as SB based on (an incorrect) Greek exegesis of Acts 2:38 (that εἰς means 'because of' not 'for'), is unsound and the conclusion invalid, indeed a heresy. The Apostles' Creed is quite clear: one baptism for the remission of sins. No baptism = no remission No remission = no salvation Merely to recite, however sincerely, a prayer of belief that Jesus Christ, God the Son incarnate, remits sin is not enough. Obviously that remission, being solely sufficient for salvation, can save the unbaptised, but the sacrament (not merely 'ordinance') of baptism is the normative means to an unsaved person being forgiven, regenerate and indwelt by God the Holy Spirit. To say baptismal regeneration is 'works salvation' (rather like some especially 'simple Gospel' Evangelical Protestant sects say of the necessity of belief in Jesus's Lordship) is alien to Christian tradition prior to the Protestant Reformation.
@Tipparat Duangin you got the craziest comment I have ever read. Hahahaha... What do you think about Jesus Christ think about you? YOu are good? You do not even try to understand the other side of the fence and believing you got control over it. you are crazy. believing others are wrong so you think you are correct. you do not even understand the old testament and the new testament. that is for sure. I guarantee you dont.
I can only say thanks for publishing this talk. It made me feel so well grateful to be catholic! I will have to listen to it a couple of times, English is not my first language.
Hello. Are you directing that comment at Sr. Rosalind or to me? She has given other talks and this one was on a specific topic. She very much believes in the death of Christ on the cross and His Resurrection. Catholics, at least those who are not only Catholic in name but in belief and practice, observe this at every Sacrifice of the Holy Mass. Who is boasting? We are full of gratitude to be Catholic. Gratitude is not boasting. And I invite all to come home to the Catholic Church, founded by Christ, Who died on the cross and defeated death so that we might, too. But we must humbly submit to Him in His true Church. And on that note, I would add that you won't find this truth at most "Catholic" churches these days (I don't say this to be uncharitable to my Catholic brothers and sisters, laity or clergy) because what is passing for "Catholic" in many places these days is but a shadow of true Catholicism. I found this out on my own after leaving the Catholic faith for more than a decade, living as a Protestant, and returning home to Catholicism; after two years back I realized the Catholic Church in the last 50 years has been Protestantized and many essential truths diminished or obliterated. I's a travesty and a tragedy, as souls are being lost. But that is a topic for another thread. I pray that all people would be converted to the true, One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church. And Tipparat Duangin, I invite you personally. Peace and God bless you!
Jesus Christ is Lord! Amen! There is no salvation outside the Catholic Church, founded by our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Faith without works is dead (look it up, read it in Scripture, and pray about that to our Heavenly Father)! For the millionth time, we don't pray to Mary, she prays with us and for us, just like a mother or a friend does. On that note, I bid you adieu and ask that we simply agree to pray for one another. Okay? God bless you, Tipparat Duangin!
Yes. But first: faith is a gift. It is from God. We cannot boast of our faith, as if we did some work to bring it about ourselves. No, faith is a gift from God, and we can only thank Him for it. (See Ephesians 2: 8-9.) Now please read the entirety of James 2: 14-26, of which I quote just a small part here: "Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered Isaac his son on the altar? 22 Do you see that faith was working together with his works, and by works faith was made perfect? 23 And the Scripture was fulfilled which says, 'Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.' And he was called the friend of God. 24 You see then that a man is justified by works, and not by faith only." [But please read it all, verses 14-26.] Tipparat, our "work" is how we cooperate with the gift of faith. We can have faith but if we refuse to cooperate with it and do nothing, then our faith is dead, like a body with no soul. Luther erred gravely when he suggested one is saved by faith and can go on sinning and still enter Heaven. NO. We must repent of our sins, which are against God, and cooperate with Him because we believe in Him. In this way we are with God, not against Him. All throughout Jesus' public ministry he exhorts people to "Go, and sin no more." He never says. "Keep on sinning. You will still get to heaven." No, we must repent and try to be perfect, "as our Father in Heaven is perfect." If we cooperate with God (and how do we cooperate? Not just by asking Him to increase our faith but by our actions of goodness and holiness that are the result of that faith. We behave in a manner which is in keeping with the faith He has bestowed upon us.) He gives us the faith/belief; we give to Him the cooperation/works. You and I will not be justified "sola fide". That is a heresy which has damned and will damn many souls to Hell unless they repent in this life, turn away from sin, make reparation for it, and live in charity and righteousness (which is love and good works)! Does that make sense?
@@TheLongSummer Matthew 7 and Luke 6 speaks of false believers, there is only one Truth. The Church holds the truth of the Eucharist in John 6 verified by Ignatius of Antioch a student of John's. That gives you two options now. Orthodox or Catholic. Let's go to Matthew 16 and we see Peter is bestowed many forms of leadership, a name change like Abraham was given, keys like the prime minister in Isaiah 22 and the ability to speak truth like Moses in Exodus. The veneration was done by 1st century Christians. Mary does not fit the definition of Idoltaroy in exodus 4. as we don't attribute anything God did to her or worship her. We also see an idol given food and drink in Daniel 14, we don't do that either. we see a physical unified Church in Matthew 18 when we are told to test preachers against the Church.and in 1 Timothy 3 SCRIPTURE gives up authority to the Church, Paul telling Timothy " if I am delayed, you will know how people ought to conduct themselves in God’s household, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and foundation of the truth." So the Church is definitely an organization. It is all three, a body of believers, a congregation, and a physical teaching body the bride of Christ. You have been in several people's reply and quote a single verse, while Catholic have done nothing but quote Scripture.
@Tipparat Duangin Sacraments are from the Gospel, the Eucharist is described in John 6 and Reconciliation in John 20:19-23. Praying to the Dead is in the OT and Offerings for the dead is the NT in Luke 11:4. Relics are the most literal thing in Scripture Acts 19:9-11 "This went on for two years, so that all the Jews and Greeks who lived in the province of Asia heard the word of the Lord. 11 God did extraordinary miracles through Paul, 12 so that even handkerchiefs and aprons that had touched him were taken to the sick, and their illnesses were cured and the evil spirits left them." Rosary is not Pagan, the Hail Mary is from all of Luke 1 and 2. Each Mystery is an event in Christ's life. 150 Hail Marys are to represent the PSalsm which predict the life, death, and resurrection of Christ. The Rosary is a compendium of Scripture, the only prayer to be called that. We are the only ones who take the Word so serious we pray on it. The Mass was practiced by Peter in Rome and Antioch, Evodius (Whom Peter left) in Antioch, Paul in Corinth, Saint Mark (Peter's disciple) in Alexandria, James in Jerusalem. The rite of the Mass has been passed down for ages. The Mass is an offering of CHRIST the one and only Sacrifice to Christ. Were we eat his flesh and drink his blood like in Luke 22 and John 6. Christ was the last lamb, and we remember him as such.
It's an exhausting journey of much heartache, but the grace of God that is in Christ Jesus is worth it all. Now we must see others not as opponents, but love them as Christ, who died for them.

So good to hear Mother Miriam's teaching! And today (summer 2019) the question she raised has become very important to be able to answer-- or at least discuss-- with disillusioned Catholics, heartbroken Catholics, anti-Catholic and nonbelievers: Why would a Holy God use fallen human nature to communicate his grace?

A really interesting talk. I am a Protestant with an impending sense that my ‘brand’ of Christianity is the low fat, low calorie, diet version - compared to the sumptuous nutrient-rich offerings of the ancient Churches (inc Orthodoxy). It is also interesting to note how many ex-Protestants are presenting very compelling arguments in favour of Catholicism. Blessings to all.
So so true. Protestants sets Gd against His creation. But He loves his creation. In Catholicism creation itself is lifted back to God. Judaism never had these problems with these dualitties, Judaism has always sought to synthesize. American protestantism is very different from protestantism in Europe. America is exporting its protestant errors all across the world through its influence. The world is becoming less beautiful because of America's exportation of protestantism.

It’s the devil that is turning American Protestants to be anti-Catholic and they don’t realize they are anti-Jesus if they go against HIS CHURCH and HIS BLESSED MOTHER!!!
Now sister is preaching here!!! I have always wondered why protestants esteem minimalism so much and I assumed that the beauty of creation was somehow suspect. We as Catholics can be over the top with the adornment for sure but better in this case to do more than less in the praise of God if it continues to direct us to God. God bless the sister!!!
Im really appreciating the challenge of my Catholic sister here in this talk and she makes many fair points. I think, though, that one fair counterpoint to her talk is that she is really criticising Calvinism, and rigid calvinism at that. There are other streams of protestantism- Anglicanism and Lutheranism (both of which use plenty of phyiscial beauty and adornment in their churches), as well as baptist and anabaptist churches. Not all protestants believe in total depravity, either. Many yfair points are made here, but I think that it is an unfair charicature of protestantism as a whole, and I also believe that many of our current societal ills have much more to do with secularization than it does protestantism, and Catholics are just as guilty as protestants (perhaps even more so) of become secularized in their thoughts and actions. As a protestant I love and appreciate my Catholic brothers and sisters and seek to learn from them and appreciate their challenges, and I think that the Catholic church has also learned from and grown from the challenges of protestantism. Jesus said the world will know that you are my disciples if you love one another. Let's have fellowship in Christ. God bless.
Wasn't Jean Calvin a 'fallen man' with 'fallen thoughts', just like any fallible academic philosopher? I suppose his followers believe, or should believe to justify their belief system, that Calvin received personal revelations from Jesus as His infallible spokesman over and against the Magisterium of the Catholic & Apostolic Church. This is Gnosticism.
@@TheLongSummer why is it that most Protestants behave like childish savages when love should show through every word? By the way, the accusations made about paedophilia, acknowledged by the Catholic Church as a problem, is not a Catholic problem, but a human one. The problem is that Protestants prefer to bury their scandals instead of doing something about the problem. I will pray for you. God bless you.

It seems to me that everyone that broke off from the Catholic Church was done to justified their own selfishness to rationalize their distancing themselves from God so they did not have to try to be like Him.
I like her. She looks like the older lady in the crowd in the town of rockwell, in blazing saddles 😂 sorry no disrespect she’s just a down to earth sister.
Hey, I realize this is two years too late lol. But I hope you’ll get this answer. Adam’s sin has certainly caused a stain of original sin on all of humanity. Through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, God reconciled us with himself. However, the nature of this reconciliation is viewed differently by Catholics and Protestants. The Catholic (and therefore, the traditional) view is that, by the grace of God, man can eventually become totally glorified. It is an “inside-out” kind of sanctification, one in which we have the opportunity to fully participate in the goodness that God offers through Jesus. The view of the Protestant reformers is, as the Sister calls it, a doctrine of “total depravity”. Martin Luther, for example, compared sanctification to “snow covering a dunghill”. In other words, despite the sanctifying grace of Christ’s sacrifice, it will never be fully possible for man to share in the glory of God.
Respectfully can I say..... this Sister should visit a Trappist or Carthusian monastery, their churches are very Protestant in appearance. The Puritan Fathers had a high regard for the Greek and Latin philosophers. John Calvin had high regard for them as well. Great preacher and philosopher Jonathan Edwards had high regard for creation. This Sister would enjoy his scholarly writtings.
I wish we could see more nuns in public. That’s what is missing. Rarely do I see them at airports unlike a few decades ago. I see far more women in Hijabs. Nothing wrong with that but the US has a Judeo/Christian foundation not a Muslim foundation. Bring back the nuns, please.
0:09 nothing to do with denominations, its the condition of everyone on the earth. Does the holy father's know the human condition like jesus. Does the tradition of the confessional same as jesus insights into mankind.
@32ff .. St.Thérèse's "Little Way of Spiritual Childhood" exactly! .. let that child speak -"babble -to it's Heavenly Abba unhampered, unquestioningly trusting (it's too LITTLE to "question" and "doubt"). To become, interiorly, that little in relationship to Our Father frees one to do even little things with great Love.
Bob Sontrop We have EDGE,in my former Parish.....Edge is a FUNDAMENTALIST indoctrination club for teens, yes the Catholic Church Is not the majestic church in which I grew,as a child is gone over to the gimmicky stuff the mega churches push this is the reason I left, and I will never return unless the magnificence of the pre-Vatican days which will probably never return.
Dear Kathy, thanks for responding. Best I can suggest is do a thorough study of St.Therese of Lisieux and her Little Way. Where she's been since her death on Sept. 30, 1897 -in Heaven! -it's anything but gimmicky. Her more than century-long track record of showering Roses from Heaven is the REAL "Edge"! So, Kathy, be determined to study St.Therese's "Little Way" (of Spiritual CHILDHOOD) until you "get it", until you've received the courage and confidence that it's simple, practical, very "do-able", the easiest path of your OWN way to Heaven. Any fundamentalist indoctrination club doesn't have the Eucharist, and so is wide open to contradictory superficialities, and phoney "happy-flappy" joy. Whereas if you track down the nearest Eucharistic Adoration Chapel and spend quiet time THERE, you will experience the REAL peace and joy which ONLY Jesus can give .. and He IS THERE in the consecrated Host. Talk to HIM (words aren't necessary, but He does long for YOUR love and trust). And if you're wondering, all the majesty and magnificence which you sorely miss these days, still reside in His Sacred Heart .. there in His Real Presence, except He doesn't want to scare everybody off by SHOWING ALL that Majesty, of which the Pre-Vatican II Church was still only a weak sampling. Heaven comes only after we've left this earth and entered Eternity's Heaven .. what God has in store for those who love Him cannot be described in human words. So, St.Therese's "Little Way" is God's super gift to "Little Souls" striving for happiness with Him forever .. a little Child's way of showing Mommy and Daddy (Our Lady and Our Father) it's love 24/7. We'll keep you covered, Kathy!
Very good, powerful, well articulated and important presentation of ''american protestantism'', ''american evangelicalism'', ''american puritanism'', ''american calvin-ISM'' but NOT a presentation of what John Calvin and the Reformation taught. The Reformation has nothing to do with American Puritanism. Calvin didn't love beauty? He was a French, guys!!! France is THE country (with Italy) that worshipped beauty. He was an offspring of France, a patriot, a deep lover of his country's heritage, a lover of the french language which he made a tool of strong thought. It's very beautiful that through the Catholic Church America Evangelicals start to understand that their Christianity has no other roots than their peculiar ''americanism'', it's a kind of nationalism. They do well to appreciate the Catholic heritage (don't forget the Eastern Orthodox, also, because it's greek and remember that Christianity prevailed through the greek language) but, if they want to remain Protestants, true and original Protestants, they have to study Luther and Calvin per se, NOT lutheranISM and calvinISM, not ''american protestantism''.

The Vatican is antichrist and I pray dear Catholics take heed and Come Out of Her as warned in Revelation 18 4 And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues. 5 For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities. 6 Reward her even as she rewarded you, and double unto her double according to her works: in the cup which she hath filled fill to her double. 7 How much she hath glorified herself, and lived deliciously, so much torment and sorrow give her: for she saith in her heart, I sit a queen, and am no widow, and shall see no sorrow. 8 Therefore shall her plagues come in one day, death, and mourning, and famine; and she shall be utterly burned with fire: for strong is the Lord God who judgeth her. 9 And the kings of the earth, who have committed fornication and lived deliciously with her, shall bewail her, and lament for her, when they shall see the smoke of her burning, 10 Standing afar off for the fear of her torment, saying, Alas, alas, that great city Babylon, that mighty city! for in one hour is thy judgment come. 11 And the merchants of the earth shall weep and mourn over her; for no man buyeth their merchandise any more: 12 The merchandise of gold, and silver, and precious stones, and of pearls, and fine linen, and purple, and silk, and scarlet, and all thyine wood, and all manner vessels of ivory, and all manner vessels of most precious wood, and of brass, and iron, and marble, 13 And cinnamon, and odours, and ointments, and frankincense, and wine, and oil, and fine flour, and wheat, and beasts, and sheep, and horses, and chariots, and slaves, and souls of men. 14 And the fruits that thy soul lusted after are departed from thee, and all things which were dainty and goodly are departed from thee, and thou shalt find them no more at all. 15 The merchants of these things, which were made rich by her, shall stand afar off for the fear of her torment, weeping and wailing, 16 And saying, Alas, alas, that great city, that was clothed in fine linen, and purple, and scarlet, and decked with gold, and precious stones, and pearls! 17 For in one hour so great riches is come to nought. And every shipmaster, and all the company in ships, and sailors, and as many as trade by sea, stood afar off, 18 And cried when they saw the smoke of her burning, saying, What city is like unto this great city! 19 And they cast dust on their heads, and cried, weeping and wailing, saying, Alas, alas, that great city, wherein were made rich all that had ships in the sea by reason of her costliness! for in one hour is she made desolate. 20 Rejoice over her, thou heaven, and ye holy apostles and prophets; for God hath avenged you on her.
john browne You need some information and context if you’re going to quote proverbs without any. If you’re going to, at least place some reason other than your own opinion as to why they should not return. Or else I could just quote Proverbs 26:24-25 toward you. Now where does that get us? No where. That is the problem, you should be insightful if you want to attempt in any way to be “helpful.” (No, don’t worry I don’t believe there are seven abominations in your heart.)
john browne Again, that passage has many many different interpretations and you just referenced the most symbolic and disputed book of he Gospel. You really do take a book at face large. You still have not given me any information. You can quote all you would like to but without context or insight you are just a mindless poster going off of Protestant belief which differs 30,000 times.
After being an evangelical minister for three years I thank God He led me to the truth. I refuted and ridiculed the Catholic Church-yelling from the pulpit they were lost and bound on a train to hell! Then, I found what I hated is what I was TOLD and TAUGHT-not what the Catholic Church is. Ten years later, I am completing the deaconate and falling in love daily with my Lord and His Church. And just when I think I have learned all there is-there is so much more. So, I argued with a guy from work and set out to prove how wrong the Catholic Church was. Well, once I started researching...and the rest is history. Thank you Jesus for the hope of salvation and Mother Mary for your intercession!!
TheLongSummer oohhh the irony. A Protestant quoting the book the Catholics compiled for us, 300 years after Jesus went back to heaven; without even writing a book! Or telling anyone else to! What did Jesus do before he went to heaven? Write down what to do? No. He breathed on them. The only other time God breaths on anyone is in Genesis.

To anyone who believes the argument (more like an unfounded assertion) that the Reformation destroyed the Arts, I direct you to the music of Bach and Handel (for starters, but also the numerous hymns of the Wesleys) and to the painting of Rembrandt.
The radical interpretation of reformation principles by the purtains is a matter of historic record. Read the books and sermons of early New England puritan ministers, and actual accounts of daily life in 17th century Boston and it is quite evident that they were not supporters of the arts.
If you take her assertion to its logical conclusion she's 100% right. Those beautifull things those protestants had & loved in nature was an extension of catholiscism from God. Otherwise of you are on that slippery slope of rejecting catholic truth....you end up in communism....rabbinical talmudism.....muhammedism .....protestant stonecutterism ect....
Almighty God Himself gave strict instructions on how the Israelites should build the Ark of the Covenant. He didn't leave them to just make a silly, rude box; God wanted precision He wanted gold and wanted images on it too, the cherubim. Equally He gave instructions on how the Israelites were to make the Alter (table); special wood, measurements, gold, pure gold cups and plates, pitchers, bowls etc. The Lampstand. The (Catholic) God is a God of beauty! Just look at nature! Hence why we have and should always have beauty in our churches.
total depravity....yikes!!!! Protestant thought in this regard seems scary, I'm sticking with the Church that proclaims and blesses the renewal of creation-the Catholic Church!
The Catholic "faith" is not the faith that was "once for ALL entrusted to the Saints" (Jude 1:3). The Catholic religion has added so much to the original teachings of the faith of Christianity that it can only be considered a cult, a strange aberration and distortion of the original faith. There is only one Chief Shepherd, being Christ. (1 Peter 5:4), and only He, and not the pope, deserves our praise and glory, (Rev. 5:13). In fact, there is no office of the pope in the New Testament. Even St. Peter himself knew this as he only referred to himself as an Apostle, and not as the pope (1 Peter 1:1 and 2 Peter 1:1).
Harry Murphy In the Old Testament the King would have a right hand man that he literally gave the keys to the kingdom to. If that person died then they would pass the authority down to the next one. Peter is Jesus’s right hand man. He literally tells Peter that he is the rock in which he would build his church. He also says whatever he looses on earth will be loose in heaven and whatever he binds on earth will be bund in heaven. Peter is the first pope and he passed his authority down just like the right hand man in the Old Testament. That authority has been passed down through the ages. We do not worship the pope at all. He is just the right hand man of Jesus that leads his church on earth until he returns.
A provocative presentation but as one on the path to Rome, I'd like to add three comments. "Total depravity", from a Calvinist perspective, doesn't mean we're as bad as possible but that every part of man is affected by sin. Additionally, Protestants don't see a problem with denominationalism because the litmus test is the essentials of the Faith (the deity of Christ, the atoning work on the Cross, etc.). Finally, many Protestants do seek for the good, the true, and the beautiful in their lives and liturgy. But that pursuit is always in the context of modern Western culture devoid of the historical foundation.
According to Jesus His church is one not the Catholics, protestants,Baptists or whatever that divides His flock. If you only beleive that Jesus is the son of God.So let us not allow our ideologies seperate us from the love of God.
Where has the love of God and want to give the best that we can. Politically correction is really a waste of time and the liberals. If we go to meet the Queen of a country would you wear what you would wear to the beach. You go to the house of God like you dressed down or to dress up to see to go to the palace, the church is the palace of God. Just to be in His presence of God, it is the most peaceful place. We go to Him in turmoil but that is not in Him. He is peace, when we are in His presence we take on His peace if we are open to Him.
Hi all, there are many Protestant denominations and that is confusing. What is not confusing is God's free gift of salvation that we cannot merit in any way, no matter how many Masses we attend, sacraments we receive, or prayers we say. Jesus paid it all, all to Him I owe.
The Masses is the Sacrifice of Christ. Everything we do is because we believe in Jesus, but Paul tells us we can condemn ourselves and that there is sin that kills. So we must make sure we don't sin or fallen away. Sacraments are things instituted by Christ directly.
A typical speech of the Antichrist. Shrewd, emotional, remaking the history, fooling the simple, playing into the cards of the Vatican. Jesus said to all - WATCH! Catholicism has no roots in Christianinty. It is a mixture of mysticism, gnosticism, paganism, judaism, and a few shreds of Christian teaching (very little though). Did you notice her final words? "The whole world will look at us and say - it's the same as yours..." The book of Revelation say the same thing in this way: "... And all the world wondered after the beast... and he [the BEAST] opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme His name... and it was given him power to make war with the saints and to overcome them. And power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues and nations. And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world. If any man have an ear, let him hear... He deceiveth them that dwell on the earth." Yes, she is right, the whole world will be saying "our faith is the same as yours," and will follow the beast unto their utter destruction... By the way, if you say you don't like America, what are you doing here then? We know why - promoting the beastly power of Revelation 13. I would not be in your shoes in the end. You left Judaism which is a fallacy, joined fallen Protestantism which another fallacy, then joined Catholicism which is and always was the most deceptive power. You keep missing the point. Don't follow any -isms! Follow Christ and first look at John: 7:16,17. Then follow wherever He leads you and you will surely find a divine compass for your life. Have a happy journey to the truth!
TheLongSummer, Catholicism IS Christianity. It is the fullest expression of Christianity, hence the name ‘Catholic’, which means “universal”. I recommend reading the writings of the Church Fathers, which will show that the early Church was thoroughly Catholic. Many blessings in Christ Jesus.
TheLongSummer: Levin78 has no idea what the difference between the so called Church Fathers and the word of God is. I read many of them and they contradict not only with the Bible. They contradict with each other!!! Yet, the Catholic hierarchy teaches that "they were in total harmony..." What an absurdity!!! They concocted all kinds of fictitious legends, they didn't believe the way Jesus wants us to believe, they were puffed up men who didn't know how to deal with their own sins, so they created new teachings that helped excuse them instead remove them from their lives, such as Augustine's "Original Sin". Origen, the greatest of the "Church Fathers," believed that the Holy Spirit was a created being, Jesus was a lesser god (with small letter g), the devils will be saved, Christ's death on the cross was a "Mystical Kiss to Satan" unto his (Satan's) redemption, stars and planets have souls, Christ died for stars as well, the Holy Scripture is useless when studied as it is written - in other words, he allegorized everything in the Bible, he taught that regular people cannot understand it, and thus he laid foundation to the blasphemous teaching that Catholicism is known for - the Church is not the members but it is the pope, cardinals, bishops and priests. Those are the only ones that can interpret the word of God, not the Holy Spirit. Those and many other heresies were rampant in the circles of the so called Church Fathers. Those men were first class heretics and their works need to looked upon as that. They were the Fathers of the False "Church." The word Catholic means universal - and that's where we should raise a red flag. Jesus, our Savior didn't say His followers will be "universal." He said that there will be very few saved in the end. He was talking about "particular people." Does it sound like the majority, which the Catholic "church" really is? Remember: the Truth has never been on the side of majority... I believe many Catholics will be saved in the end but they will be saved by abandoning their beliefs and leaving their deceptive "church," not by remaining in it. They will show their backs to Vatican and will follow Jesus Christ, the crucified for the sins of men. God bless you!
My brother GuitarraUltima, the term “universal” is in reference to the universal (or entire) truth. It is not inferring universalism, the belief that all men will be saved. As for the Church Fathers that you denounce, they are the successors of the Apostles, the authors of the New Testament that you and I both venerate.
levin78: You misunderstood both my message and your own teaching about "Universal." The church is called universal (Catholic) because it includes vast masses of people, and its main goal is to include the whole world soon. If you don't believe me, believe your own sources, such as Malachi Martin: "The Keys of This Blood." And please study your own materials such as Council of Trent, Council of Vatican II, etc. Church Fathers had nothing to do with the Apostles - it exists only in the Chruch's propaganda. The Church Fathers contradict every single facet of Jesus' and the Apostles' teaching. Read my previous message carefully and verify this in the history. Peter had nothing to do with the heinous institution of the papacy.
Sister you're right in some ways but the sentence "that little box where God is" sort of says it all pertaining to both Catholic and Protestant churches. God is in a box figuratively. Materialistic and ceremonious, we can thank the Roman Empire for stealing the power of healing and much of the power of love out of the faith that Jesus gave us. The teachings of Jesus look nothing like the anathemas, the torture chambers, the killings of heretics, the stealing of property, the materialism, the wars of conquest, the questionable beginnings of Islam, where a wealthy nun was married and helped to shape Mohammed. All those last things go with the man made religion which has become the Roman Catholic Church. I pray for them.k Now Pope Francis is pushing for a one world religion.... with the Catholic church in charge.
Teri June Jesus told his disciples to take his church to the whole earth in the great commission. Then, when the church does that, they’re accused of making a “one world religion” 🤦🏼♀️ face palm.
So Teri you still pushing the lies of atheistic protestantism & Satan. Thankfully truth & Logic which aligns with God proves all of your false gospel/fables & lies as they are.....Nothing. God & his Catholic truth is forever!!!

Oy vey! This is called creating a straw man and then knocking him down. It is a total misrepresentation of Calvinism and Protestantism. Protestantism is misrepresented by this obviously sincere lady and then she discredits the misrepresentation she has created (with the help a Catholic writer--Rowe?). The rabbis teach that Japheth represents culture and Shem religion. The culture of the Classical world was used to reach the nations with the coming of Messiah. Many Hebraic things were set aside for this to happen. Protestantism is a turning from Hellenism back to Hebraism. The revival of Hebrew, as the Puritans implemented in their schools, and the Hebrew Roots movement among Evangelicals today, is part of the continuing Protestant movement. Where Protestantism has become "progressive" "modernist" and "liberal," is in its falling away from St. Augustine. Catholics have done this too. Why? Is it not due to a voluptuary attitude, a neo-paganism that worships the body? The doctrine of "total depravity" is misunderstood and misrepresented in this lecture. To me it appears a false Catholic humanism is being advocated in its place. Does Sr. Rosalind need to go back and check what her Jewish roots have to say? (Denominationalism is simply a refection of variety in our human condition. Why are so many tribes and genealogies given in the Hebrew Bible? "In essentials, unity; in non-essentials, liberty; in all things, charity.") In any case, I recently heard on Catholic radio that Catholics are not required to believe the Old Testament accounts as actual history, such as the Book of Jonah. One is allowed to take it as "figurative" even though Jesus in the New Testament refers to Jonah as actual. Evangelicals (Calvinists--Protestants) would beg to differ.
Dean Mansfield Good answer but I was raised Calvinist and it was grim.Catholicism has culture intellect and mercy. I like it better. But your defence is quite acceptable.
Thank you, Peter, but you must be talking about post Vatican II Catholicism. Traditional Catholicism is more grim than anything Protestant. It sees the Eucharist as an actual (though bloodless) sacrifice, representing the bloody sacrifice of Christ on the cross. Post Vatican II no longer wishes to stress that. The crucifix does not have to be at the center of the altar, the priest faces the congregation and folk tunes are allowed in place of hymns. If that is called "culture, intellect and mercy," well, yes. Modern Protestantism has gone the same way following and sometimes leading the mother church. Anyway, grim is not necessarily bad, is it? There are some very grim realities. Sacrifice for sin is one of them, no?
"In essentials, unity" Who defines what is essential? Denominationalism is relativism, there is no way around it. Vatican II did not change the teaching that the Eucharist is an actual sacrifice, which is the teaching of the Church documented as early as 2nd century and has not changed till this day. Traditional Catholicism built the entire western civilization and all its philosophy, arts and science. If you think traditional Catholicism is grim, you probably have not read writers like G. K. Chesterton or J.R.R. Tolkien.
Dean Mansfield A very thoughtful and comprehensive rebuttal of the distortions made of Christianity in this dreadful talk, made by a woman that seems like a simpleton or just being utterly dishonest.
Thank GOD in 1996, i read the bible on my own n was astounded by the non biblical doctrines of the 💒 of rome n Came Home to CHRIST n JESUS Alone in Protestant Holy Bible Based Churches👏👏👏👏👏👏
Wil liam Research the Church Fathers and the Nicene Creed. Established 325AD. Your Protestantism, came 1,200 years later and changed everything and took out context, the same Church that was carried out by the Apostles after Christ ascended to Heaven.
Lol you must have failed English class in high-school... The bible was written by Catholics about them doing , believing catholic things. You did not properly read the bible....because you can't if your blind & brainwashed. This is my body & this is my blood / whose sins you forgive are forgiven / they shall be saved by fire .... Catholic. Better have a catholic priest teach you the Catholic Bible ( yes we made it )!

Elaine Ford what does wandering in the desert signify?
I grew up Catholic. I eventually ended up in a non-denominational church. Well more than one. In so many ways they thrill you with the entertainment and fancy stuff. Eventually that wears off. I began to feel empty after some time. I took time off of Church to research. I eventually found my self back home. However I learned about my faith this time around. Boy was I poorly taught.

This lady right here. I found her on UA-cam and she started my searching and my journey home.

The simplest, most direct, and fruitful way of living opposite of a "barren harvest",
is St.Therese of Lisieux's "Little Way" of spiritual childhood. It cuts through all kinds
of complications and distinctions WITHOUT detracting in any way from Christ's own
life, passion, way to Calvary, death .. and Resurrection. Where's the simplicity? Observe
little kids ( .. no older than five or six, preferably younger) babbling in unhampered trust
their wants, complaints, love, questions to their Daddy and Mommy. Take THAT as
our model and transpose it spiritually, and learn to "babble" in the same unhampered
way with our Heavenly Father about anything and everything in our hearts. And
there's yer "Little Way". I'm "Cowboy Bob" and I beg daily for the grace to become

(The first 'protestants' fell away from the Faith in John 6, after all.)
Having a 'personal relationship with Jesus by asking Him into your heart' as some magical mantra (sorry, pan-Evangelical 'conversion experience') guaranteeing 'eternal security' is, of course, code for a host of material and formal heresies.
No baptism = no remission
No remission = no salvation
Merely to recite, however sincerely, a prayer of belief that Jesus Christ, God the Son incarnate, remits sin is not enough.

(See Ephesians 2: 8-9.)
Now please read the entirety of James 2: 14-26, of which I quote just a small part here:
"Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered Isaac his son on the altar? 22 Do you see that faith was working together with his works, and by works faith was made perfect? 23 And the Scripture was fulfilled which says, 'Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.' And he was called the friend of God. 24 You see then that a man is justified by works, and not by faith only."
[But please read it all, verses 14-26.] Tipparat, our "work" is how we cooperate with the gift of faith.
11 God did extraordinary miracles through Paul, 12 so that even handkerchiefs and aprons that had touched him were taken to the sick, and their illnesses were cured and the evil spirits left them."
Rosary is not Pagan, the Hail Mary is from all of Luke 1 and 2.
Wow. Excellent and fully inspired talk. The beauty of our faith is the only beauty that I absolutely must have.

It's an exhausting journey of much heartache, but the grace of God that is in Christ Jesus is worth it all. Now we must see others not as opponents, but love them as Christ, who died for them.

So good to hear Mother Miriam's teaching!

They were devoid of love of things ...why they rejected Christ.
The electrifying thesis to this talk is around 10:20
God bless.
Thank you so much for the talk.

I like her. She looks like the older lady in the crowd in the town of rockwell, in blazing saddles 😂 sorry no disrespect she’s just a down to earth sister.
I thought the first man sinned... maybe someone here could enlighten me?

Dear Kathy, thanks for responding. Best I can suggest is do a thorough study of St.Therese of Lisieux and
her Little Way. Where she's been since her death on Sept. 30, 1897 -in Heaven! -it's anything but gimmicky.
Her more than century-long track record of showering Roses from Heaven is the REAL "Edge"!
So, Kathy, be determined to study St.Therese's "Little Way" (of Spiritual CHILDHOOD) until you "get it", until
you've received the courage and confidence that it's simple, practical, very "do-able", the easiest path of
your OWN way to Heaven.
Any fundamentalist indoctrination club doesn't have the Eucharist, and so is wide open to contradictory
superficialities, and phoney "happy-flappy" joy. Whereas if you track down the nearest Eucharistic Adoration
Chapel and spend quiet time THERE, you will experience the REAL peace and joy which ONLY Jesus can
give .. and He IS THERE in the consecrated Host. Talk to HIM (words aren't necessary, but He does long
for YOUR love and trust).
And if you're wondering, all the majesty and magnificence which you sorely miss these days, still reside
in His Sacred Heart .. there in His Real Presence, except He doesn't want to scare everybody off by
SHOWING ALL that Majesty, of which the Pre-Vatican II Church was still only a weak sampling.
Heaven comes only after we've left this earth and entered Eternity's Heaven .. what God has in store
for those who love Him cannot be described in human words. So, St.Therese's "Little Way" is God's
super gift to "Little Souls" striving for happiness with Him forever .. a little Child's way of showing

6 Reward her even as she rewarded you, and double unto her double according to her works: in the cup which she hath filled fill to her double.

11 And the merchants of the earth shall weep and mourn over her; for no man buyeth their merchandise any more:
12 The merchandise of gold, and silver, and precious stones, and of pearls, and fine linen, and purple, and silk, and scarlet, and all thyine wood, and all manner vessels of ivory, and all manner vessels of most precious wood, and of brass, and iron, and marble,
13 And cinnamon, and odours, and ointments, and frankincense, and wine, and oil, and fine flour, and wheat, and beasts, and sheep, and horses, and chariots, and slaves, and souls of men.
14 And the fruits that thy soul lusted after are departed from thee, and all things which were dainty and goodly are departed from thee, and thou shalt find them no more at all.
15 The merchants of these things, which were made rich by her, shall stand afar off for the fear of her torment, weeping and wailing,
16 And saying, Alas, alas, that great city, that was clothed in fine linen, and purple, and scarlet, and decked with gold, and precious stones, and pearls!
17 For in one hour so great riches is come to nought. And every shipmaster, and all the company in ships, and sailors, and as many as trade by sea, stood afar off,
18 And cried when they saw the smoke of her burning, saying, What city is like unto this great city!

Beautiful. The most important thing is to know Jesus, not just to know about him. Though that too is needed.
Harry Murphy You are quoting a Catholic book, my friend. Probably shouldn’t try to use our own book against us.
@@jarretdurst7110 Thus, even the Apostle Peter proved that there is no such office as the Pope. (1 Peter 1:1 and 2 Peter 1:1).
Harry Murphy That proves nothing at all. He is just introducing himself as an apostle of Jesus.
@@jarretdurst7110 Just quoting Bible.
Jesus gives Peter the Authority in Matthew 16.
Thando you don't know Jesus or his church....go read the apostles creed for the answer.
Instead of "Catholic Guilt" we now have "Catholic Embarrassment" ... :-(
Where has the love of God and want to give the best that we can.

Joan C You sound very Catholic.
Joan C Catholics believe Grace alone actually !
The Masses is the Sacrifice of Christ. Everything we do is because we believe in Jesus, but Paul tells us we can condemn ourselves and that there is sin that kills. So we must make sure we don't sin or fallen away. Sacraments are things instituted by Christ directly.

Misrepresentation of Calvinism.
👍👍👍
If you will look objectively at history, then you’ll find that Catholicism is the only expression of Christianity that makes any sense.
They were the Fathers of the False "Church."
The word Catholic means universal - and that's where we should raise a red flag.
A very sick woman.
I pray for them.k
Now Pope Francis is pushing for a one world religion.... with the Catholic church in charge.
@Teri June
Do you have any actual authentic historic evidence for your claims?
Teri June Jesus told his disciples to take his church to the whole earth in the great commission. Then, when the church does that, they’re accused of making a “one world religion” 🤦🏼♀️ face palm.
So Teri you still pushing the lies of atheistic protestantism & Satan.
Thankfully truth & Logic which aligns with God proves all of your false gospel/fables & lies as they are.....Nothing.
God & his Catholic truth is forever!!!
😩Why did you give up the full habit? Having to worry about hair color, gray hair? Poverty all for Jesus. I love you anyway but am 😥
Modernism?
Mother Mary Angelica took it back?
Please all for Jesus?
Besides
This was when Mother Miriam was still trying to get her order approved. Here's a more recent of video of her with her order's official habit. ua-cam.com/video/y-IkFHDb86I/v-deo.html
Dean Mansfield
Good answer but I was raised Calvinist and it was grim.Catholicism has culture intellect and mercy.
Tolkien.
Dean Mansfield A very thoughtful and comprehensive rebuttal of the distortions made of Christianity in this dreadful talk, made by a woman that seems like a simpleton or just being utterly dishonest.
why do you protestants have so much malice and hatred in your heart that you troll every catholic video? don't you see how satanic that is?
