Great video! As a general question: How are the people interviewed in your street debates chosen? Do they have to apply in some sort? How representative are the groups? Thanks!
African people loves each other the problem is the regime in power how can terrorists move freely but citizens cannot and i think that's why they come and we don't see we demand free movement... borders are colonial African we are one people

I’m never going to forget 20th Oct 2020. It’s always in my heart everytime I pass through that toll gate. I cry. It hurts cos I was there that night I can’t even count how many people that was killed and the government sweep it all under the carpet. I swear Africa is not a real continent how can your own government kill unarmed civilians and try to sweep it under the carpet. I will never forgive APC for that. They’re still doing the same till date. That’s why people are afraid of coming out to protest against the bad governance , corruption and the inflation, to be honest. I am so tired of everything in my country. They pitch tribe against each others, tribalism ,and religion is their major leather weapon they use to divide the citizens. They use some blogs to cause division but my people still won’t learn to hold each others tight and match in one accord to fight their common enemies. Igbo Yoruba Hausa your problem is the politician they are united in aso rock if we unite we stand a chance. God bless the federal republic of Nigeria….
This is too respectful. The protesters are not only protesting taxes. They are protesting austerity measures that will result in taking away ancestral land resulting in a spiral of increasing poverty and loss of the rights of the people.
Come 2027, the voting pattern of choosing leaders along tribal lines will still continue as usual! Just look at how the naming of Joho and Murkomen was received with celebrations from people at the coast and Uasin Gishu! Yet they know these leaders are incompetent and with questionable character! It’s the reason why Kenya is in such a mess. And it’s a shame really, that majority of the older voters have completely refused to change their mindset!! The Gen Zs are tribeless, but on their own they don’t have the numbers needed to vote Ruto out of power in the coming elections! Unless they take and hide the IDs of their parents to prevent them from voting for Ruto!
Kenya protest still ongoing.stay strong bros. 🇳🇬 sees you. Props miss kimani. God help Africa. We will move forward.
We hope it gets better soon.

As a somali, I frankly think these people are fighting against tyranny.

Lol you bring Charles Owino. The same man who has defended the police for its brutality. Good move DW.
Asking the same.He is such an insensitive human being.It's like mocking the parents who lost their sons to police brutality
Agreed, i would like to watch the full debate.

I concur with you.hii tushaona
The street debate was aired before, but the complete combined broadcast is new.
@martinaoneko4117 oh ok.👍🏾
It's a new show that combined previous reports to give a comprehensive outlook on protests led by African youth.
Soon Zimbabwean protest will start too

Are you then implying change is impossible and there is now way out? we would love to hear your thoughts and solutions🙂
@@DWThe77Percent Change can take place but Kenyan politicians strategize along tribal lines. Nothing much has changed.
It's certain the real reasons will not be found in a DW report. Won't be wasting time to listen.
