Thank you so much. I have really big breasts meaning I have to buy sizes that are too large around the back. I have a swimming party to go to tomorrow so I definitely needed this last minute help.
Could I take mine to a clothing store and get them to resize it for me? I bought a bathing suit online I know is too big for me but they didn't have my size in that suit and I looked on other sites and none of them had my size either.
Thank you so much! I play waterpolo and my suit I ordered is much bigger than the one I tried on, I could literally fit another person in it with me. I am going o rry your tips and fingers crossed that they work for me
It will likely come apart because of the stretchy fabric and you probably won't be able to get it tight enough to hold, best to use a machine for best results
thank you! ordered a nice swimsuit and have no idea if i can return it. it fits in some spots (boobs and bottom), loose in other areas (crotch and belly). didnt know if i could do it without a serger since it needs to stretch. zig zag stitch it is!
If the ruffle is just sewn on you can use a seam ripper to unpick the stitches, if it is sewn into the body of the suit, unpick the skirt carefully and use a Serger to sew back on the pieces without the skirt, be careful not to cut away or sew too much material as you won't have any seam allowance, so the body may fit shorter than before.
Do not cut off the excess if you have sewn it on a straight stitch sewing machine because it will likely come undone and leave you exposed, just leave it as is and if it comes undone you can repair it again, if it bothers you a lot you can try to tack it in a few places to prevent it from moving, otherwise maybe try a new swimsuit. If you have a Serger it cuts it off and protects the edge for you.
If the bum area is bagging out but the fit is good, it means that the material has stretched and unfortunately it is time for a new swimsuit. Elastic has a lifespan, and cannot reshrink after time. If it is a fit issue, try taking it in as she does in the video on the side seam with a zig zag stitch it should tighten the area. If you have a Serger, even better but the changes you make will be permanent, as it cuts off the material.
@@nubucatillustrations1757 the swimsuit has never been worn except to try on once. So it definitely is not worn out or run its life. Also it fits on the side at the hip area, so taking it in there wouldn't help. It's literally the crotch area that is made for a woman who doesn't have a small booty like me.
if it is way too small (2sizes or so) you can add a different material on the sides like a mesh or a bold color that contrasts with the original to make it look like part of the design.
That is EXACTLY what I needed to know. Thanks.

How do you alter the bust only?
Is this possible if I sew it by hand?
Hello, how to fixed a swimming wear if the bra is too big. Please help.
What type of thread would work best?
I love the purple bathroom suit in the back!! Where do I go about buying this?
Thanks! I’ve lost 30 pounds and my suit from last year is in perfect condition just too big!
was wondering if one needed special (elastic) thread
A zig zag stitch.
So how do you alter bikini bottoms? Mine are baggy around the top and the leg holes.
I have the same problem. Did anyone ever answer your question? I can't find anything online that pertains to this exact question.
I have been looking for some answers for an hour and have found nothing
Same here I have no butt!

did it work?
That ring! How do I find one similar?
Can I do the zigzag stitch by hand, or will it come apart?

My sun guard (long sleeve one piece) swimsuit is too long in the stride. It has no straps. How do I shorten it?

Ads are awful. Kamala Harris? Omg
How to remove a ruffle/skirt/frill from the swimsuit around the bottom?
If the ruffle is just sewn on you can use a seam ripper to unpick the stitches, if it is sewn into the body of the suit, unpick the skirt carefully and use a Serger to sew back on the pieces without the skirt, be careful not to cut away or sew too much material as you won't have any seam allowance, so the body may fit shorter than before.
Do you cut the excess after?
That's my question. How did you finish off the excess ?
Do not cut off the excess if you have sewn it on a straight stitch sewing machine because it will likely come undone and leave you exposed, just leave it as is and if it comes undone you can repair it again, if it bothers you a lot you can try to tack it in a few places to prevent it from moving, otherwise maybe try a new swimsuit. @@nubucatillustrations1757 Thank you. 🙂
Any suggestions if the crotch/butt area? Can I just use a regular machine or will I need a serger?

is there a way to alter a swimsuit that is too tight??

Not much help. This was so simple, it wasn't worth watching.
