Austin is my favorite part of the play, I laugh every time the camera is panned up too high so it’s just the dog head visible with the occasional dry bark

You should definitely watch the original at least once in your life, even if you end up hating it… just because there is so much pop culture bound up in it at this point. It’s like my friend who’s never seen Back to the Future or Jurassic Park (wth is he doing?!?). There are certain films that are a prerequisite to existing in society 🤣😉☺️
@@enider I mean, sure. But there are movies that transcend language and country that everyone should see (e.g., Nosferatu, Rashōmon, Cidade de Deus). Wizard of Oz is up there for English films. Even though (as Will said on the Fear& podcast) it may not be _that_ great of a film, it’s still culturally important. And so many tropes come from it. It’s like once you realize that that whole motif of “here’s what really happens” comes from the Japanese film Rashōmon you’re like “ohh! how have I not known that before?” I mean, sure, not every person has to see every classic but doesn’t Hasan consider himself a bit of a film nerd? He’s also an Ameriboo, so come on!! :)

If hes never seen the play then he can bring a truly unique experience to the role. Its like trying to read song lyrics without the tune. A lot of the time you end up reading them to the tune in your head. If Hasan has never seen the performance before, he wont have unconscious bias to the performance and itll be entirely his own
