Bruce great chat tonight. So happy you guys had Randall on. His channel has a lot of great information. Also everytime I come over to your channel I have to re-subscribe and hit the bell setting. If I'm not blocked from subbing you may want to let UA-cam know. It may be happening to other subscribers. I have re subbed 5or6 times now. Thanks Bruce, Good health and God bless
Hey thanks Houston. That is strange. Have not heard that from anyone else but folks may not know. You are definitely not blocked, at least not intentionally. I am not even sure how to check. Please let me know if it continues to happen.
@@brucesbees when I got the reply I went back to your channel and it's Red again I will keep hitting it till the Red goes away. But your videos aren't being recommended to me on notifications. I have noticed this on a mobile with a lot of people channel, when on the view channel would be Red but when I go on over to their channel it would show I'm subbed. But not yours. It's Red on both and I thought maybe I had accidentally unsubbed so I kept sub. Back over and over. Still Red today I re-subscribe again. thanks 👍
That is bizarre. When I get access to my laptop I might see if I can get to the bottom of it. Will see if I accidentally hit something in settings. So strange.
@@brucesbees Lee's channel did something similar only it was just in the notifications. I've not noticed anything on other channels so far. It may just be a UA-cam glitch. I have been subbed for a long time now, it's just recently been happening. If it changes I will let you know Bruce 👍 thanks
I have enjoyed your show you guys have forgotten more than I will ever know my grand and great-grandkids would love to see how a hive works. and many they could take it to school to show the other kids. Thand You Ron
@brucesbees the Friday after this live stream I added a super to a colony and did a “zig zag checkerboard” between 2 honey supers with alternating drawn comb and foundation. OH GEEZ! Those girls loved it! Thank you Randall Carter and this Stream Team!! Those 2 boxes are full of nectar and will be about ready to pull in a week or so! UNBELIEVABLE
Great chat!! Enjoyed the discussion of the small "comet swarm". Since I retired I've spent a lot of time in my bee yard. I've seen two of these small fast moving swarms. I chased them both but they flew into/over the woods and I lost them. I hadn't thought about a virgin queen with an escort. But that makes sense.....I had done 3 walk-away splits and had queen cells in the hives. Can't say for sure but that fits the circumstances!! Thanks as always for some great info!! I have a "rookie" video on my UA-cam page of a big swarm I had if you want to check it out. It was an amazing thing to be in.
I was able to catch a swarm on the 7 th of may and brought it home the 9th at night. I will be checking today the 12 th to see if the queen is laying yet.
@@brucesbees she started yesterday I have a few 2 day eggs. Just trying to get them to build comb using 1:1. But they want to fill the only frame with com in the hive.
This swarm was a small. If I knew someone that would spare a frame of brood with some nurse bees would give them the boost they need. When I said small swarm I meant maybe 2 1/2ftams at best.
Bruce I thought we were friends but the more you talk about plastic frames your really not a purist… woodenware all the way baby it adds to the taste of the honey. Just like an oak barrel
What a GREAT community thanks for having Randall on, thank you so much for another great chat.
It was a lot of fun. Thanks for checking in!

Thanks for the kind words and thanks for checking in!
Didn’t catch the live but watching it after. I really enjoy and respect Randall’s advise!
Great. Thanks for checking in.
Yours as well Bruce. Thanks for all your effort that I can learn from!

Hey that’s great news!!! Tricks of the trade…
Of course there are those that would tell you that it will never work. Haha.
@@brucesbees of course! Ask 10 different beekeepers a question and get 10 different answers and most riddled with opinions!
Drawn comb is so valuable, I’m working on getting a lot drawn this year.
Yes it is. It’s amazing how fast they can fill a frame of drawn comb in a good flow.

Good job. Hopefully she is filling it up!

Will be interesting to see how they do.
You never know exactly what you have when you catch a swarm.
This swarm was a small. If I knew someone that would spare a frame of brood with some nurse bees would give them the boost they need. When I said small swarm I meant maybe 2 1/2ftams at best.
I put 9 peppermint per hive when SHB are around.
@Greg, If you have an old tree full of SHB larva, Mavrik Perimeter sprayed on the ground about 3' out from the base of the will wipe them out.
That is out in grimes area.
@Bruce, have you ever checked for neonitiniods in your dead outs after main flow?
I have not.
Every swarm I've caught this had SHB already with them
My bet is mating flight

For making wine
Bloody hell iv had one rum…
I have not issues with plastic, or wood. To each their own.
