Show People with Paul Wontorek Interview: Megan Hilty of "Smash" "Wicked" and "9 to 5"

Megan Hilty made her Broadway debut as Glinda in Wicked and went on to play the equally blonde Doralee Rhodes (the role made famous by Dolly Parton) in 9 to 5: The Musical. These days you can catch Hilty every Monday night on NBC's Smash as Ivy Lynn, an actress embodying iconic blonde bombshell Marilyn Monroe for a new Broadway musical. Hilty stopped by Show People to dish with host Paul Wontorek about her character's ambition, getting "hit on" by Nick Jonas, her dreamy day playing the daughter of Bernadette Peters and the nightmare of filming "terrifying" nude scenes on set. The ever-candid Hilty also revealed why she would never sing a Whitney Houston song, her "cliché" love of Marilyn and what she asks herself several times a day. If The Princess and The Frog ever makes it to Broadway she should be Charlotte

I met her when she was playing Glinda in Wicked in LA. She's the nicest person ever. I gave her a build-a-bear of one of her earlier characters from Vanities at her last show, and she gave me a hug and was just the nicest person ever. I've got a few autographs from her in my stage door experience as well. Seriously, just the cutest person you could ever meet.

i first saw megan hilty in wicked la like 5 years ago and have been a huge fan ever since! she's just one of those people you can't not love!
Met her at the stage door for Wicked on tour in Toronto in 2006. Such a friendly, humble, amazingly talented woman. I may not be enjoying Smash much, but I am so, so happy for her.

heelfan1234 Why hide things from the world. It's not disgusting or anything! You shouldn't disrespect people like that. Everyone has their little things that are perfect, but they are perfect in their own way.
She could have got that sliced off though? Cosmetic surgery is routine these days.

Danielle, I just noticed she has got big moles on her left arm as well... really not very nice at all. If she was just wearing a long sleeve top, it would have been in much better taste. I don't see why women with big hairy moles on their arms have to wear sleevless tops and flaunt them at everyone like that. It would be so easy to cover them up, or if they really MUST wear sleeveless tops then have a simple cosmetic procedure and get them sliced.
These comments are actually disgusting me. Why the fuck is a MOLE so hideous that it has to be sliced off? It's literally just discolouration so why are you treating it like she hasn't brushed her teeth or something? Jesus Christ, everyone has at least one mole, how is it gross?

I don't know why everyone says they hate her character in smash.I think she's the most realistic one in there.Of course she's a bit of a bitch,that's because she's been working her ass of all her life to get a role that's totally made for her.Her character is very well written,although very predictable.Karen,to me,is more annoying although I know we're supposed to like her but I think Ivy is at least best for the role.I will be very disappointed if they don't keep her as Marilyn at the end.

They really should've focused more on her.
I'm not fan of Megan character on Smash (too whiny). but that Karen annoys the hell out of me. Seriously I don't find Karen likeable, that's just the way it is, she's always rambling about being as talented and don't seem to realize that everyone has also been working hard for years.And while Karen voice is amazing I think Ivy make a better Marilyn (body,face, voice).
