Well It's a simple thing but there's a spoiler If you haven't watched Episode 306 or Season 4 Fully of Gintama then stop reading Gintama SPOILERS AHEAD In Shogun Assassination Arc, they revealed of Gintoki's past that he had to kill his own teacher to save his friends. I found that very heartbreaking
The fact that Grave Of The Fireflies takes place in Japan during WW2 is of of the reasons why it's one of my favorite films, because you know there aren't too many anime adaptians of Japan during that particular time period.
I recommend a movie called “In This Corner of the World”, it’s also set in WWII Japan and shows a very ‘domestic’ side of the conflict. There’s some scenes that are brutal but so well depicted to give viewers a feel for the characters pain. Some might not think the ending is happy, but I think it is in its own way. About as good an ending you can get in this type of film
@@SunnyNight Oh i've already seen that one, i've also watche Barefoot Gen one of the few anime depictions of the atomic bombins of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
Yeah and the very sad part is that this is the real story happened in the life of the writer himself. His two sisters died due to starvation in that period
That one hit me harder as it's not a because of a "Sad" moment, but of an extremely beautiful one. Each subsequent letter drives the point home more and more. There is so much more to unpack besides "She Dead, Me sad". If I ever need to Cry On Command, I'd just have to think about that scene
Cried a little: Rengoku's death Merry going down Cried a flood: Goodbye Koro Sensei Super Peace Busters finding Menma. Damn that scene. The Number one on this list is really tearjerking even if a small scene is only shown. I can sense and hear her pain in those apologies. Damn.
While that scene from Clannad is heartbreaking, I tear up at a different part. Earlier when Tomoya and Ushio go on a trip, Ushio lost a toy her dad bought for her and spends hours trying to find it. Then you find out she wants to find it as it is the first gift she ever got from her dad and Toyoma finally stepping up as her father. Then he starts to tell his daughter about her mom and finally accepts her death. It is heartbreaking while extremely joyful.
While Clannad is full of sad, tear-jearking moments, the crying "in daddy's arms" scene that takes place in the field is by far the saddest and most beautiful moment. I cannot believe they didn't include that part in this list instead.
@@krudmuphinstudioz Honestly that whole episode could go on the list. I recently rewatched the series with a friend that had never seen or heard about the series. When this episode ended she said she "wasn't ok" and spent the next hour crying. I then got a text the next day about how she started tearing up again thinking about that episode.
That movie is such a masterpiece but very heavy on sad moments. I watched it for the first time deepin the night and it had soo many moments to tear you up. Just hit me DEEPLY, especially since I experienced the bullying, the depressions, the suicidalness, the anxiety around people myself. Still made me feel for "the bully" too. When I saw the first season of Made in Abyss I cried so hard from Mitty's mercy killing, it was like a little baby animal in a zoo nursery with stuffed animals, and seeing it burned away while she and everyone else crying teared me up.
Yes, that was a really intense scene. What makes it even more heartbreaking is knowing the background story, explaining how Mitty's and Nanachi's lives were linked together and why Mitty refused to die all the time. It's so incredibly sad, almost unbearable
Each sad moment shattered my heart and left me in tears: Maes Hughes’s funeral, Ushio’s death, The Going Merry going away, Koro-sensei’s death, Rengoku’s death, and even Ace’s death. I’m never getting past them. 😭😭😭💔💔💔

1. I am so glad that a silent voice is on this list. 2. I thought it was more immersive and heartbreaking with the eng dubbed version because 1. I understand the feeling and 2. They literally got a fucking deaf person to VA! If that’s not dedication then I don’t know what the fuck is!
The only anime I've seen on this list is One Piece and Fullmetal Alchemist, and those were great choices. I think the death of Naruto's parents in the flashback in Shippuden should have also been on here. That one got me.
Dude Yuukis death from SAO Shoulda been on the list. I was crying a good 10 minutes after the episode just from that heavy scene alone. That girl got mad respect right up to the end.
For me it didnt hit that hard til Nori broke down. Up til then she always kept up best but then even she couldnt keep it together and when she broke down, so did I

The whole Ishigami mini ark at the end of season two is why he became my favorite character because I relate to that because I had something similar happened to me and my boy got through it and came out stronger😭
An anime scene that made me cry this year: Myne becomes Rozemyne (Ascendance of a Bookworm Season 3). In order to save her family from being executed, Myne has to be adopted into a noble family, changing her name in the process. The biggest cost is that her original family has to pretend she died, and that Rozemyne is a complete stranger to them. This is tragic as it is not the first time Myne had to say goodbye to her family, as we see at the end of the second season she never got to say goodbye to her mother in her original world before she died. Losing one family that loved her was enough, but to lose another and make them pretend she is a complete stranger is another. Hopefully something will happen in the next season.
i know i always talk about tate no yuusha (shield hero) but your anime lists recently always have something that fits and for me they could have included the moment in episode 4 where naofumi thinks he will be alone in that world without believing in anyone and the rapthalia says she believes in him even if he doesn't believe in her, because she is his sword.
@@Shebeast3 I also think this scene is perfect for this list because Nãofumi has only suffered discrimination until then and seeing him being believed by someone and Rapthalia showing her confidence makes you at least get emotional plus the music make the scene.
Nothing destroyed me more than Mitty's Treasure... the sheer cruelty of it all plus the unbridled sorrow of choosing to loose a treasured love one even though it for the best because every minute if their existence is pain.. messed me up for months... i have never hated anyone like bondrewd... so much 😭😭😭
Damn, the end to the first season of Vinland Saga was beautiful. It wasn’t Askeladd’s death that made me tear up tho, it was the closing shot of Thorfinn’s dagger falling and seeing the montage of all he’s been through in it reflection. It legit made me nearly cry, only One Piece and Your Name have hit me that hard.
Every time I see full metal alchemist I always cry when I see the episode in which Hughes was killed he was one of my favorite characters and the fact that he had a child that he was taking care of made his death even worse so I know a lot of people never watch that series but if you do you understand what I'm talking about it's such a sad sad story also when the professor turned his daughter into a chimera and she was left to suffer that also made me so sad.
my number 1 cry moment in anime will forever be midoriya fighting muscular to save the kid. that scene made me bawl my eyes out for 30 minutes aftet the episode ended.
"I Want To Eat Your Pancreas" - the final news story. "Sailor Moon" - the end of the first season, with each of the dead Sailors joining the Moon Princess. "Madoka Magica" - Homura's sacrifice.
Yusuke's Wake at the very 1st Episode of Yu Yu Hakusho gets me every time. Sometimes you just never know if you've touched anyone's life even while you were still alive
Know what you mean, I had BIG hopes that the Merry would make it to the end, but the fact she gave her life to save the crew she escorted was what made me feel heart broken.
My Top Four Saddest Anime Moments: 1. Full Metal Alchemist: Nine and Alexander are turned into a chimera. When she says, “brother why does it hurt here?” And when the brothers find out she is mercy killed by Scar. 2. Inuyasha: Kikyo dies a second time for real. 3. Inuyasha: Naraku gives Kagura her heat back but he poisoned it, shoved it back into her chest, and she dies moments later. 4. Gundam Seed Destiny: The ship Flay is on is destroyed. Although, I didn’t like Flay, it was bitter sweet because I felt bad for Kira.
For as heartbreaking as the “I love you” reveal is, the twilight meeting and Taki’s vision don’t get enough attention for just how sad they are as well. During the twilight meeting, Taki and Mitsuha finally get to meet face to face, and it’s such a sweet a touching moment between these two characters who fell in love despite always being just out of each other’s reach. But you know that this moment cannot last, and when Mitsuha is pulled back to her timeframe before she can write anything on Taki’s hand (which Shinkai confirmed that she was also going to write “I love you”) and their memories of each other immediately begin to fade as Sparkle begins to play, signaling the beginning of the final act, you can’t help but shed a few tears. And during Taki’s vision in the shrine, seeing Mitsuha’s life from beginning to its tragic end is both breathtaking and devastating. From her birth, to her mother’s death, to her father’s departure, and finally to seeing the fear in her eyes as the inevitability of Tiamat bears down on her while Taki desperately screams for her to run away. Every second of this scene is gripping and when you realize that, in that timeline, Mitsuha had JUST seen Taki expecting him to recognize her, unaware of the timeline shifting and thinking she had been rejected by someone she had come to love, it’s even more devastating. And to really cap it off, she went to the festival hoping to see the comet, something so beautiful, only for it to immediately turn to fear as Tiamat breaks and crashes around her, you realize that until Taki altered the timelines and gave Mitsuha the knowledge to save herself and the town, her last moments were filled with so much anguish.
All of those deserve to be on this list. Even for those I don't know the series I feel the sadness. From this choice, Hughes funeral, "the cave of fireflies", "a silent voice" and Mitty's freeing made me cry most badly ... "The cave of fireflies" made me sob hardly, which says a lot since a am rarely this moved. (I generally deal with Alexithymia) Also, I get it would be double mentions for the anime series, but "Made an Abysss" is a masterpiece, AND hard to take at times. Other scenes that really got me: Reg agonizing while trying to (literally) hack Riko's hand off (in order to save her life) and Prushka's terrible end.
8:34 this death had me on the floor balling my eyes out due to how attached I became to Gugu and his relationship to Fushi. I loved their brotherly bond and it broke my heart to see what happened to him. And Rean kissing him before he died make me fucking sob 😭
I am right at the beginning of this video but I swear, if Angel Beats ending isn't in this, I will not be happy. One of the VERY few anime to actually make me cry!
Even a 100000000% Macho Must Cry with this. 😢😭. Also Must be in the List. me watching this past midnight while bowling my eyes with tears
the scenes that really hit me:clannad ushio death, erased the breakfast scene, full metal alcheist hughes death
those were the scenes that made my heart broken and made me cry for a few days....
even today it makes me cry
the scenes+the nostalgia hits like a train
1. I am so glad that a silent voice is on this list. 2. I thought it was more immersive and heartbreaking with the eng dubbed version because 1. I understand the feeling and 2. They literally got a fucking deaf person to VA! If that’s not dedication then I don’t know what the fuck is!
only in english, becauae in japanese it's the same VA as Yor from Spy x Family
The only anime I've seen on this list is One Piece and Fullmetal Alchemist, and those were great choices. I think the death of Naruto's parents in the flashback in Shippuden should have also been on here. That one got me.
Srill fighting tears when Fullmetal alchemist part
Grave of The Fireflies has never made me cry. I didn’t know most of these Animes but I’m glad you at least included Your Name.
Dude Yuukis death from SAO Shoulda been on the list. I was crying a good 10 minutes after the episode just from that heavy scene alone. That girl got mad respect right up to the end.
For me it didnt hit that hard til Nori broke down. Up til then she always kept up best but then even she couldnt keep it together and when she broke down, so did I
Me too.
yup 🤗
Great list. An honorable mention would be the climax of “Colorful.” Like, how can you not get emotional watching that?!
👏
RYO'S FATHER'S DEATH FROM SHENMUE! 😢😢😢😢😢😭😭😭😭😭💀💀💀💀💀👼👼👼👼👼🔔🔔🔔🔔🔔
Even though I know what happens the “I love you” scene from Your Name gets me every time
*IT IS NOT JUST AN ANIME ITS AN EMOTION*
Hughes' Funeral should be way higher than number 11. I went into this video expecting it to be in the top 3.
I shed tears watching the deaths of Euphy and Shirley in Code Geass. Even when I rewatch it I cry. That's how strong it is
Same. Incredibly tragic and powerful.
clannad and clannad after story is one of the few anime series that ripped me apart and broke me emotionally 💔 I love it so much
Oh man, Ranking of Kings had a few scenes that hit me right in the feels.
Mitty's death was just as heartwrenching in the dub...it reminded me so much of when I had to break up with my ex...I was ugly crying for days as how Brittney Karbowski handled Nanachi in the dub of that scene...
HOW IN THE NAME OF CHRIST WAS THIS ALLOWED TO SEEL THE LIGHT OF DAY!?!?!?!?! THAT IS A SIN AGAINST LIFE ITSELF!!!!!
@@ZeldaSam1...what are you talking about?
@@ZeldaSam1 seriously, what are you talking about?
clanned made me cry 3 times. nagisa's death, ushio's death and nagita's servival. the last one went on for 1 hour. the first for 40 min. and the 2nd was 30 min.
i was expecting that one. but it still hurt allot
Dude!! Clannad: After Story made me a wreck!! I was hoping that Tomoya would have a happy life, but the daughter was dying… so many tears and tissues!!!
Watch from the point that he lies down next to her to die as well - from that point on - you will be happy crying!!!!!!
Me: “I swear I won’t cry”
Fullmetal Alchemist: *kills Maes Hughes*
Me: *goddamnit* 😭
i know i always talk about tate no yuusha (shield hero) but your anime lists recently always have something that fits and for me they could have included the moment in episode 4 where naofumi thinks he will be alone in that world without believing in anyone and the rapthalia says she believes in him even if he doesn't believe in her, because she is his sword.
that scene really made me tear up to 🤗
@@Shebeast3 I also think this scene is perfect for this list because Nãofumi has only suffered discrimination until then and seeing him being believed by someone and Rapthalia showing her confidence makes you at least get emotional plus the music make the scene.
I've cried only for one scene, and it's in Fullmetal Alchemist where that girl and dog is made to a chimera, it was disturbing
Meruem's death scene with Komugi made me cry so hard.
50 years ,50 letters is gotta be most heart broken anime scene
I had to watch this with a side of work tasks, its so sad I was cutting onions.
10:42 - let's not forget that it brought us one of the best revenge scenes in anime history.
It was actually Eren's mother's death in AOT season 1 that moved me first, before current events in the storyline. It's what started it all.
12:45 oh it’s this anime I’ve been looking for this name for almost a year
Nothing destroyed me more than Mitty's Treasure... the sheer cruelty of it all plus the unbridled sorrow of choosing to loose a treasured love one even though it for the best because every minute if their existence is pain.. messed me up for months... i have never hated anyone like bondrewd... so much 😭😭😭
What about the scene near the end of Belle when Suzu finally sings as herself? That's a tearjerker moment right there!
that moment had me tearing up and getting goosies it was so beautiful
Damn, the end to the first season of Vinland Saga was beautiful. It wasn’t Askeladd’s death that made me tear up tho, it was the closing shot of Thorfinn’s dagger falling and seeing the montage of all he’s been through in it reflection. It legit made me nearly cry, only One Piece and Your Name have hit me that hard.
All the scenes are sad, and it all made me think of my great grandma who passed away almost 9 years ago on Veterans day.
Gugu's death was so beautiful and so heartbreaking. I am very happy it made it into this list
"I Want To Eat Your Pancreas" - the final news story.
"Sailor Moon" - the end of the first season, with each of the dead Sailors joining the Moon Princess.
"Madoka Magica" - Homura's sacrifice.
that scene in I want to eat your pancreas as well as when he finally let's his tears out made me ugly cry so bad
After seeing the thumbnail : My eyes literally filled with tears💧.
After watching the whole video : I'm drowned.
Yusuke's Wake at the very 1st Episode of Yu Yu Hakusho gets me every time. Sometimes you just never know if you've touched anyone's life even while you were still alive
same 👏
So beautiful 😢❤
Top 10 Anime Scenes That Will Get Your Heart Pumped.
The Going merry funeral was one of the saddest one piece moments ever
Know what you mean, I had BIG hopes that the Merry would make it to the end, but the fact she gave her life to save the crew she escorted was what made me feel heart broken.
Japan Sinks made me cry every ep
Literally almost cried again watching The Maes Hughes scene again😂😭
You missed some; Avdol and Iggy were killed by Vanilla Ice, Kakyoin gets killed by DIO, etc.
Narancia, Abbacchio, Bucciarati..
Rem’s confession and rejection, and the end of Angel Beats always make me cry
"Overrate to your thoughts, they will be your words, these words will be your behavior, overrate to your behavior they will be your personality"....
My Top Four Saddest Anime Moments:
(I generally deal with Alexithymia)
Also, I get it would be double mentions for the anime series, but "Made an Abysss" is a masterpiece, AND hard to take at times.
Yuuki's Death (SAO), Kotaro's Life (Kotaro Live Alone) The Wolf Children, The Sad Life of Marnie (When Marnie Was Here), Bunny Girl Senpai, The Death of Riku ( Blood+), The End of Cowboy Bebop, Princess Kaguya, Only Yesterday.
The first scene of Anya made me shed a tear
If im honest almost every episode from clannad after story made me cry
