"Last you for years" is a strong overstatement unless you only go out a couple of times a month with these. I've never got more than 14 months out of a Merrell product. That's not a complaint, I love them! But they fall apart quickly when you're on a real trail. I'd say if you get a full year out of them you're lucky.
Love Merrell's comfort and fit but last two pairs wore through Vibram sole in around 800km of walking

Alot better then skechers thoes shoes fall apart quickly.
I'd like to know where you tested them... was it your back yard or a real hike in a wilderness area? People need to stop doing hiking shoe reviews when they don't hike. We buy these shoes for real hikes with a 80lb pack on your back.

The shoes may last, but the insides wear out i replace mine once a year.
Never had a problem with Merrell. Awesome strong light weight shoes. Last 4 years even when hiking wilderness areas. I doubt you have ever owned a pair of real Merrells.
