As always, a fine recital by Dr. Unsworth, accompanied by Prof. Howard's erudite commentary. I was particularly moved by the concluding "Exultate" by Percy Whitlock. Whitlock is a favorite of mine, and as a very young organist, I first learned of his music when Tabernacle Organist Robert Cundick played his lovely "Dolcezza" back in the mid-60's. He later played the "Toccata" from the Plymouth Suite and I was really hooked! Many years later, I had the opportunity to meet Dr. Cundick following a Temple Square performance of his magnificent oratorio "The Redeemer" and mentioned the Whitlock connection. Turns out that he had served a term as organist at the LDS Hyde Park Chapel in London, and had been introduced to Whitlock's music by some of his UK colleagues. He was happy to learn that he had made a convert! As always, many thanks for this wonderful series of recitals.
Andrew, I love your arrangements of both "Come, Come, Ye Saints" and "Be Thou My Vision". As often as we hear the former, I still love it each time I hear you play it.
Thank you 😊 Your music made my day & uplifted 😊
Excellent music. Quite enjoyable I think.
