I think the fraction for the offset is causing the distortion in the middle. Try even numbers, like 56 wide for each side's width and 28 for the offset. That might solve the distortion issue.
You prolly dont give a shit but if you are stoned like me atm you can watch pretty much all the latest series on InstaFlixxer. I've been streaming with my girlfriend for the last couple of days :)
Ummm, interesting. I’m intend to buy the Samsung CRG9 49 inch monitor (whenever they release it) and now I have something else to consider, thanks to you Michael. Really useful video though, as usual.
I just got a cyber monday deal on one of these CRG9's. Moving from a 28 inch 4K monitor. I'm mostly hoping I can move this new one back a foot or two on my desk. After watching this I think I'm going to be happy with the one monitor setup, not a huge fan of that split thing you had there. I'm exciting to get a little more of a side view!
I just found this video and was wondering if you could do the same thing if you bought 2 of these monitors virtually giving you 4 monitors with one bezel. Until you mentioned that weirdness with the line in the middle. I've been flying flight sim for many years and I say the bezel beats that junk. Fly 3 monitors with thin bezels for a month, and I promise that you will forget bezels exist. I think the only thing possibly better if you have the hardware to push it, is dual 49 ultrawides or even 3 maybe? Or 3 smaller ultrawides. People think the bezel thing is such a problem and really, it's much better than one huge curved as it's more immersive. I'm now looking at VR which should beat all. Hopefully it comes with puke bags. So back to my original question. Could you theoretically get 2 of these displays, but set them up to have 4 27" displays?
With the same Samsung CRG9 monitor, can you also do a review for the Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 please? Would love to know how it performs on this ultra-wide monitor. Thanks!!
I always run it as a single screen, heavy on the graphics card back in 2017 had a 1080ti and it struggled with this screen in ultra settings... But indeed stretched view on the side is the grain of salt you have to take in with ultrawide experience
@@przemeksukiennicki2815 I hold a PPL and I fly with VR and the real skies all the time. Try flying the Marchetti in VR and doing aerobatics with it.. Also When I fly through unfamiliar territory, I will pre-flight the trip with VR and Ortho4 XP. I find it comforting to know the terrain prior to flying it. There is nothing like knowing what the approach will look like prior to getting there! If you have never tried VR and a well crafted modeled aircraft your missing out!!
Is there a way to make a shared cockpit experience with dual monitor setups in one PC? Like each monitor projects different angles and camers movement independent from each other yet obviously remain in one aircraft?
If you can use 1 monitor as 2 monitors, does that mean you can use nvidea surround to make it one monitor again without the stretching and without the bezel as well as increasing frame rate? Will be interesting to find out!
I'd like to see 1 x 49 stacked on a 32" (for all of your instruments) and 2x32's for side view. I think that could be done with a separate program he speaks about.
Could this be used for just displaying the terrain/outside view, and then maybe a single touchscreen display below/between for cockpit dials/control surfaces? Any thoughts on that setup, with a yolk/throttle/pedal add-on? On one PC?
I got the 43 inch, better resolution and slighter narrower.. Works perfectly.. I also have a G-Sync main monitor (Asus PG278Q) Which gives me G-Sync on the Samsung 43 Ultrawide. I don't get any of the weirdness you are seeing.. No line, no artifacts, nothing.
Does anyone know if X-plane 11.5x has any accommodations for 4K? In other words, has the program been re-written to navtivley product larger text in cockpits, etc.?
I was about to ask the same question... I have an Alienware ultra wide 34" running @3440x1440 and with my 1080ti and ortho tiles + airport addons I'm lucky if I stay around 40 fps, but I've an old i7 3770K @ 4.4GHZ, probably this makes a big difference
First off, thanks for posting the video. Secondly, as I was watching the video, I heard you saying that the more windows you open in X-plane, the lower FPS you get. At the moment I average around 55 FPS, so if I were to setup three monitors would I get a lower number--FPS?

4:00 .... SLIGHT ??? That is a big distortion ! !
Haha couldnt agree more lol
That's just the camera, it would look better to us in real life.

I love these videos . Or demonstration on a projector or multiple projectors On a wrap-around screen...

Set it up as (3) 400 mm (1200 total) monitors. That will eliminate any distortion

Once I flew in VR, I got rid of my extra monitor. Never going back to monitor flying.
Gord Rose same here
Is any real pilot flying with a VR device? I don't think so...

I still think triple works better for me. This is a huge monitor but you get left wanting more.
Can u make the screen for 2 Pilots so that when I sit on the first officer seat it looks from the FO perspective, not from the captain perspective 😂
Man that monitor will look nice in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020!!!
If i buy secound i got what u want xd

does anyone know whether there are any mods or methods out there to fix the distortion at the edges of a 49- ultrawide? for x-plane i mean

The fix is easy: use the single monitor mode on that monitor because it has one
Didn't watch the video?

Is that the CHG90 ?
it would be cool to see 2 49s with xplane.

how about 3!
Hi, how did you split the image ? did you use any software ? if yes , what´s software name ? thanks , seems good to try..... best regard,
Cristian la I believe there are 2 hdmi inputs on the back. so you can run as 2 seperate screens or just the 1
100 FPS? What are you using please? 2x2080ti with a 9900K @ 5.0GHZ or what?
9700K at 5GHz and a 2080Ti.
I have the same setup...can you breakdown the particular settings that net you 100fps with this setup please?
I’d try even numbers do reduce distortion, so 56 to 56 with -28 to 28 etc
if you get 2 of these monitors, can you mount them vertically in this sim?
You can get three monitors for the price of that one
but they come with bezels
Why don't you simply use Nvidia Surround?
What vid card you using for 100fps? And how much is that screen? Could you do 2 of them?
The screen is close to 1k, you could do 2 but it will be incredibly uncomfortable, and you will need a really good gpu, and a huge desk
9700K at 5GHz and a 2080Ti. You could do two, but it would be pretty darn wide and not very tall.
@@xforcepc how can you make it taller so that you can see more vertical
@James Hodson This is also where vr comes into play
Mike, I am currently running 3 27 inch monitors does the single monitor improve the FPS?
Yes. A single 49 would proved better FPS than three 27s.
Michael Brown thanks Mike really appreciate it
Hai... This 1 monitor or 2 monitor, ?
What about 2 of them?. How would it work for a 737 home cockpit?
LTT just showed a quick build using 3x 49" screens. Its ridiculous.
only 1080 high? most wide screens are at least 1280 now
It is 144Hz. That is the trade-off.
What’re your pc specs??
But you know what would fix it for you Michael? Ortho.
First off, thanks for posting the video.

You lose about 1/3 of your frame rate for each screen you add. So, you would drop to about 35-40, most likely.
nice
🤪$$$ ? Looking goooood!
How did you remove the bezel between the screens ?
It is a 49-inch monitor. There is no bezel in the middle.
Does NOT look good.
