I really love your mindset as a business owner. Your customer focused approach really resonates with me as well as your emphasis on quality and workmanship. Also really appreciate the free knowledge you are giving us as well as the vulnerability you show regarding your personal life. I am currently running a college co-op and you inspire me to be excellent for my community.
Solid advice. Collaboration of like minded people who are passionate about what they do is a win-win for everyone. Your approach of " help one another "not only is a great business plan, but also a great way live ,in general. Great channel. Great guy with a fantastic attitude. Subscribed and like. This company is going to be a huge success!
Sorry for the slow reply here! Thank you so much for the kind words. I am a firm believer that the world is abundant and if we put aside greed and ego that we can all do well. This is especially true in passion driven industries.
Great video, Chris. It’s inspirational to see how you push through. I would’ve never thought an indy bike shop would be able to spring up in this corporate climate. If someone were to open a bike shop somewhere else, what would your top advice be?
Hey Jon, Sorry for the slow reply here. To be fair, its not been easy and we still scrape by a lot of days but thankfully have an amazing community behind what we are doing. I would say the best advise would be engage with your community as much as possible and if you have a limited budget like I do, find a niche to specialize in as it is a great way to set yourself apart without a big marketing budget. I don't know if this would have worked out without specializing in something. Reach out at any point via email if you want to get into more detail or have more specific questions. I am always happy to help others who want to take a similar route.
one way small bike shops survive in Europe is by having low overhead . quite often you will see a shop on the first floor of an older house that has been in the family for generations.the shop owner lives upstairs and has no mortgage ,so if times are slow he can ride it out
Hey man just wanna recommend a book for ADHD management on the long term, scattered minds by Gabor Mate. Very inspiring story man looking forward to the rest if your videos. The machining part is awesome!
Advise from me. at the end of your day, You need to write down ie Journal just 4 pairaphs and you will then get a better idea about what you are going to do the next day
Happy to help! A couple of my favorites are Titans of CNC www.youtube.com/@TITANSofCNC and NYC CNC www.youtube.com/@nyccnc For learning CAD/CAM, Lars is a brilliant teacher www.youtube.com/@cadcamstuff
You can honestly learn a lot through UA-cam, another great place to get hands on experience is look to see if your city has a bike co-op that lets people volunteer to help repair bikes.
This is GOLD for anyone interested in breaking into the bike shop biz!

I appreciate that Justin, thank you! That is great you are running a co-op, a well done co-op can really do some amazing things for their community.

Where is a good place to learn about bicycles? I Olán to retire in a year or so and love cycling but need to keep my bikes tuned-up.
