Terry bogard is awesome, the snk games and kof in general has so much story and depth to its characters for a fighting game, I highly recommend it if you like fighters. Terry bogard just happens to be one of the most stylish FG characters of all time.
Yeah Yamazaki have an awesome background story too. Too bad that kof only focus on the face team and the villains. And unlike how other fight games creates their character snk character design is heavily influenced their background and techniques. For example why deejay can throw fireballs because he just can. In snk they'll have a whole back story for it like Yamazaki with his right hand always in his pocket. Their back stories makes their design and mannerisms more sense.
I recommend you Watch the *"King of Fighters: Destiny"* series, it's not Perfect but it's really Good. *Pros:* The Story was Great, it's a Mix of KOF 94 and FF1 Stories combined into 1, Awesome Fight scenes, Terry has an Epic Role. *Cons:* It's a full on 3-D CGI Animated Series, that's probably what Hurts the most of the Series.

Surprised this video isn't blowing up now that we got all that footage of Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves. There's actually not a lot of good breakdowns of the actual plot and until now I literally had no idea that FF and KOF were different timelines. Whenever I get into a new series, I like to learn all the lore and I been getting into all the new fighting games so I appreciate this video.
Terry is my favorite fighter of all. If he's in a game, you can bet he'll be my main. I've always wished SNK would unify their continuity. Even with the rotating protagonists that populate the King of Fighters franchise, there's (mostly) a way to do it. I'm gonna try my hand at writing, and make stories based on this concept. Who knows... maybe with time and effort, they'll become canninical. Fun fact: Terry's move, the Burn Knuckle? He straight lifted from Jack, from Art of Fighting. And in the 2nd anime? When Terry's doing his "wandering drunk" thing? Jack is one of the people that mugs him.
Actually, Art Of Fighting was released in 1992, whilst Fatal came out in 1991, so the dates don’t match up much, but AOF has been credited for inventing super moves.

Nobuyuki Kuroki, the man who designed Rock Howard, the art directory of Samsho 2019 and now involved with KoFxv has sworn to make Garou 2 before he retires. Also Yasuyuki Oda, Senior producer at snk has said on multiple occasions that Garou is a title he absolutely wants to bring back. So it's just a matter of time and resources as the fan demand keeps growing.
Sadly just like Terry, Ryo doesn't have a Big Role in the KOF Timeline, I think it's best to just stick to his *"Art of Fighting"* Lore, Ryo in his Prime was the Good Times.
