Holy fudge. That’s something else. It brought tears to my eyes, thinking that David would be so proud of these lads. I’ve been a fan since Natural. This is the most consistant band I’ve seen.
Still my fave band of all time. Been able to hang out with Speed on multiple occasions. Such an amazing person and still the greatest voice in metal, as far as I'm concerned. 🤘
I met him once at a Dark Tranquility/Threat Signal concert in the Opera House in Toronto. He was chilling in the crowd watching. Was the best thing to happen in any concerts i've been to!

Okay , i just listened to it twice, and once more with my now eleven years old kid Soilwork fan (he'll be at the Paris Zenith too, he'll miss being on my shoulders in front of the stage but hey , large venues..) . this song is very very important , it's a new era of Soilwork . it's not just another song. It's the first song of the new Soilwork without late David. The last album was so huge, the task to carry on without David is something we might be concerned about. but if you look at the Overgivenheten credits, most of the songs are from David and Bjorn, a joint effort. Previously we had , in a rythmic distinctive way, Peter wichers. So in a way , glued by Bjorn , Soilwork is an entity of itself that can survive to individuals and perhaps fuel the creativity of the individuals. That's what we hear now, the credits include all band members except Sylvain (i hope he will have a part in the writing too , but i suppose this song is the result of a rehaersal/ studio gathering thing in sweden). That's a statement like we're all here for a new chapter, and you can hear it : the colour of the composition is so different than what it would have been with David's inputs. And that's fine, it's even a good sign of a their creativity being alive. the song has everything that makes soilwork great and unique : riffs , harmonies by everyone , awesome pre choruses riff , crazy bridge , great singing including a lot of different ways of singing , also rythm patterns i didn't hear before in soilwork i think. And should i talk about about the Thomas Johansson production ??? so percussive and yet clear enough to get the harmonies etc , but i'm listening to my JBL monitors so they might not be that neutral. the difference between spotify and here of course might make you listen to it over there. well thank you guys !! see you on that Zenith stage. we hope to hear that song!
Hey man, you've made some interesting points! I have also been thinking about Björn after David Andersson's passing. After ofc his family and friends, Björn must be one of the people who are most affected by his death. The two must have been very close creative partners, largely carrying two successful bands on their shoulders for a decade. It's incredible. And I very much hope that Björn can carry on (if he so wishes) with his amazing work. Losing a second close creative partner must be very hard. I wish him all the best! That being said, I think it's incredible how over the years Björn has really really come into his own as a songwriter. On the last three Soilwork albums, most of my favourite songs/choruses were written by him. There is just a special quality about his choruses, I think he is really on top of his game nowadays! Not to discredit any of the other composers/writers in the band. David has some INCREDIBLE songs to his credit, my favourites being Long live the misanthrope, Antidotes in passing and Father and son, watching the world go down. Not all of his songs are hits for me, but when he hits, damn does he hit hard!!! And, finally, cool that you bring up Sylvain's compositional input. I too would love to hear more songs written by him, because over the years I have come to realise that his songs hit a very special spot for me. Realm of the wasted, Alight in the aftermath and Shining lights are all now somewhat of "secret" favourite Soilwork songs of mine (if that makes sense). To me they're less immediate as other obvious bangers like e.g. Övergivenheten or This momentary bliss, but I find them deeply satisfying. To me they have very high nutritional value, so to say 😂 They carry a certain adventurous spirit that I really love, and they are a welcome expansion of the Soilwork style, and I would love to hear him compose for the band again!
This new single recaptures many periods of the band,. Fast riff from The Chainheart Machine, groovy riff from The Ride Majestic, melodic riff from Figure Number Five and Bjorn's vocals always on top of the game, this is a banger. Please quench our thirst with more soooon, cheers \m/
Natural Born Chaos and Figure Number Five are two of the best Metal albums ever made. In Flames Colony and several albums after were also some of the best. I haven't listened to either of them for years but I think I will start again. This was exceptional. His voice hasn't changed and that chorus!

Please Review this Band from Bali 🤟🏻 ua-cam.com/video/YLNL-JlkzQ0/v-deo.html
Met Simon after the Adelaide show on the Overgivenheten tour. Such a nice guy! Amazingly sweet and humble. And he just throws THIS up for his first Soilwork piece? I don't know how much of this song is his, but it's enough to convince me that this band is in such a good place moving forward. I CAN NOT WAIT for a new album. It absolutely sucks losing Dave, not only for Soilwork but for NFO as well. But the next era is before us, and I am excited!
Совсем другое дело. Мёд на уши. Браво!!!
Wow, fast and melodic. What a chorus! Finest Melo Death 🤘
This song deserves likes as much as In Flames songs (just saying). Always Soilwork fan. Strid is speed and in flames in this song!
Nothing like starting my day off with new Soilwork...
Nothing like new Soilwork to improve my commute back home
That bass part was sick !!! 🤘🏽 I had to rewind it a few times because it gave me the chills.
Rasmus is a great musician.
These guys never cease to amaze me with just the amount of material and consistency they produce. Its as if they just poop music. Killer track!
As soon as anything Soilwork comes into my feed I can’t help but think of their late guitarist David Andersson. He was such a blessing to the band and is sorely missed. I am sure his replacement will continue his legacy with his own style and talent. Great song!!! 😊🤘🏽
Saw soilwork last week this song was amazing live
I was legit just wondering when I'd hear new music from my boys and bam! Here we are. Freaking amazing!
Soilwork, in flames, at the gates, children of bodom, dark tranquility, and Disarmonia mundi. Love you guys!
Seeing them tomorrow with Arch Enemy and In Flames, but unlike those two I've never really listened to these guys. I'm sure that will change after tomorrow.
Can't wait to see you in Italy 🤘🏻
Awesome like always. Soilwork for ever!
That chorus is so good 👌🏻
