Not bad for what it is the speakers and amp are decent , but if I were him I would definitely upgrade the wiring and mount that amp. Other than that can knock the kid for trying , that’s what this entire system thing is trial and error. Moving things around. Switching things out, till you find what’s best for your personal tSte and vehicle.
Yes. I notice that too. On my system I had my box facing facing the rear but closer to the opening and didn't sound so good. So I moved the box back all the way to the back seats. What a difference. Because there is now more room for the sound to expand than hitting the trunk lid so close. I got deeper bass and much louder. I haven't tried facing u yet. I have sedan (Buick Verano) and not a surburan. The space makes a huge difference. I have a smaller space with a shaped box to fit my trunk. I'm only using two 12" sundowns at 1 ohm. Love to rattle the car rattle my neighbors.
I could see having a system like this. Budget friendly and you get some good boom! If you have a wife and kids a person isn't always permitted to get the expensive stereo gear. I say kudos for getting a system in there at all.
I have a 2004 sonata stock alt getting 110 amps and 13.7-14.4 constant. Im running an 800.1 d skar monoblock and 2 ct sounds tropo 12s. Now my amp will hit 1200.1 at 1 ohm on 14.4 so my amp fluxuates between an ouput of 800-1200 on subs that are rated at 700 watts rms lol they are really about a 1000 to be honest. Its possible, I see it mostly in cars that have a good factory system to start with usually have a good electrical system for example, Honda, Hyundai, VW, Volvo ect.

@@samp6162 I had an 2002 a4 quatro i believe its a pretty good class ab amp they use from the factory. Thats what i did with my sonata. The factory amps and speakers on that year of my car were made by pioneer so basically I had a built in 50 w rms class ab amp so i bought cerwin vegas that matched that wattage and man do they sound good for the money i paid for them. And remember you can always upgrade you dont have to do it all at once.

If you have to face your subs inches from the rear to seem louder your box is incorrect. The space inside the vehicle is also a "box". Up is best generically, forward isn't as loud because of distance. If done right, vehicle specific forward is best, because you take advantage of the space instead of the opposite. You can also design for loading which can multiply effect. Inches from the rear is not loading, you're relying on the waves emanating from box at that point. Very inefficient. Just always keep in mind sounds isn't a magical vibration coming from the unknown. They are waves. And they behave as such.
I went from having my speakers facing back in my accord to facing forward now, I realized my trunk was vibrating way too much, when i flipped them, my bass sounded dull and empty, so I was very disappointed. That is until I got in there and started to tune the Amp and my LOC and man does it sound miles better now. Now idk if facing them back again would make it even louder. But I feel like that bass is lying to you.
@@sergioh2015 If things are vibrating use a damping material. Dynamat or the like. That's really the simplest way, what direction sounds the best to you. Rear facing can amplify if you can find the not to close not to far spot. That said noises like vibrations can be louder than the bass notes drowning out the sound. Def get you some damping inside.
@matt anderson yeah that's my next step! It's damping the trunk lid, securing the rear camera (vibrates a lot too) and plus the big 3 upgrade. Then I'll be facing them back again
If your running subs on a car and the subs are in the trunk its best if they face forward with the seats down/cup holder to trunk entry down its gives the best sound out of your subs
You should have them facing up or torn towards the seat because the port is choking you don't want it too close to the trunk because it won't be able to breathe properly
I built half a dozen enclosures for my 02 escape before FEELING impressed by the output of 2 P3D4 10s mounted in them. Powered by a RN1.3000D on stock playing same tracks throughout the builds I determined both subs sharing 2.8-3 cubes firing back at my ghetto braced hatch tuned to ~32hz through a 4"x16" slot along the TOP porting out passenger side hit my body the most. Ghetto braced and dampened the roof with anything I could glue and screw also had an impact on output IMO...

If you have the room in your suv or car face the port and subwoofers back so all the sound waves will be aligned and all the bass will bounce off the back hatch 🔊💨⛱️ I used to have a dual 18" box with the 3 4" ports facing back and it was way louder then when I faced it up!! I now have a box that were the ports face back and the subwoofers face up. I can tell it's not as efficient. My new box is tuned to 32hz and my older box is tuned to around 24hz!!

Seems like it’s working out just fine for him bro. Every application is different so you can say what works best for you will work best for everyone. I say facing the subs downward is the absolute best, but then you won’t get to show them off. From my experience this makes your system sound like a REAL earthquake! Try buy one day and let me know if you notice the difference.
Yea I got 2 sdrs skars just amp and speaker everything pretty much stock. Mine are fantastic shakes my front windshield enough to rattle my mirror down now that I got into a bigger amp made for the subs
Subs up and port to the back. That’s my best setup in SUVs, in my girls car subs to the rear and port to the side. That’s in a Malibu. Kinda odd port placement in my opinion but get louder that way. Every situation is most likely gonna be a lil different .

I have them facing back because it works Best for my vehicle. Yet for optimal cooling and direction of air flow it's best to have the port in between the subs
TBH I wouldn't put the port facing back gate bcuz it doesn't really have enough room to even port lol. I'd face up but if he had a lil bit more space definitely backwards. Had a 02 EXPLORE with 4 AUDIOBAH FLAME 12's and was in same boat as he's was/is.
for me always subs up and port up in suv or hatch back and extended cab trucks only time i dont go up is in a trunk front or back in trunk i do front in trunk when metering and for demo face the backwords iv always put my port same way as the sub just my opinion
With my setups in my SUV it was best sub and port up and in my wife's challenger it was best with subs and port facing back and I'm my tundra crewmax well not sure I'm gonna work on that when it warms up and snow melts I had room in my garage but wife's has her stuff scattered all over now.

my sub for now has everything at the back have been thinking of buying an upwards facing box tho so i can also put some stuff at the back without constantly worrying like is anything hitting subs or maybe ending up in the box through the port and stuff like that
Hello I'm really impressed with how much subs pump with a Taramps 3000 1 Ohm. But I have a question, I also use a Taramps 3000 and drive a BassFace Red 12" 2+2 Ohm sub but it doesn't do all of this. Did you happen to install a crossover for the sub to get a lower frequency cut? Or is the connection a sub amplifier without anything else? If you give me an explanation on this I will be grateful...
How do you have your sub wired, series or parallel? you would want to have it wired in parallel so that it brings the impedance down to 1ohm. The Bassface Red at Fs(Fo) 54Hz doesn't go as low as these Skars Audio 15's. Also, what kind of box do you have it in and what is it tuned to? All of this matters when comparing the set ups. Hope this helps.

Wish i could show my set up first the vehicle im using is a Chevy Tahoe while amp is an A7 db drive pushing 2 15’s G2’S with super bass box subs facing the rear hatch also a db drive digital capacitor last yellow top battery. Clean little set up.

Backwards is louder you get an 3db Gain the more stuff da bass bounce off, but rule of thumb you gotta be at least 6" from da tail gate
