Future Paris - Champs Elysee Amazing Gardens for 2024

- The mayor of paris, Anne Hidalgo, has announced a €250 million plan to revamp one of the city’s most famous landmarks - the champs-élysées. often referred as the most beautiful avenue in the world, the 1.9km (1.2mile) long avenue will be transformed into an ‘extraordinary garden’, offering a place of experience and contemplation for parisians and tourist alike.
designed by PCA-stream, the makeover plans will not be set in motion before the 2024 summer olympics, as reported by the guardian. the plans include the reduction of vehicles by half, transforming roads into green areas dedicated to pedestrians, and creating tunnels of trees that will help to improve the overall air quality of the area which is quite polluted - even more than the frequented périphérique ring road.
the overall vision for the district located between the champs-élysées roundabout and the arc de triomphe builds up the quality of use over a period of ten years through the reduction of nuisances (noise, heat, car traffic…) and improving comfort (air quality, spaces given back to pedestrians…),’ PCA-stream says. ‘the étoile intersection is reinvented as a public plaza geared towards tourists and parisians who come to contemplate the arc de triomphe. on the avenue, the promenade experience makes a comeback and flâneurs will be able to stroll up and down the historic boulevard in an atmosphere greatly improved by the reduction in motor traffic.’
Paris, the city with charm, elegant and with amazingly beautiful historical attractions, and the food, the French coffee and the smell of French baguette, I have been there 3 times and still wanting to come back for more. Looking forward for the new Paris in 2024 and the restoration of the word famous Notre-Dame in 2026. Thank you for sharing the video clip
thanks for the postcard ! :)
it's quite different when you work there (as delivery man)
insane traffic, Paris is very agressive
and "les Champs" are on bad compagny at night ...
but you're welcome anyway, many places are awesome
PS : the right price for a coffee at the counter is 1.50 Euros MAX 😅
@Letter A a big no. Ask Japanese
@Letter A Yes it's just as safe as any large western city, lived there for years, never had any problems. LA feels much more unsafe for example, probably due to the fact you'll find almost no guns in circulation in france
@Letter A Yeah the most likely thing too happen too you is your bag or phone getting stolen
@@abduhkhoir7803 you life in Paris?
All cities should be design like these, a space should be provided for trees.
A space?
Ok
Cuz back then, Climate change wasn’t a thing and they think realising bad gases to the atmosphere won’t affect peoples lives
It’s a global trend
Yes! Coz before they prioritized cars, but now, they realize that it's not good for the wellbeing of the people and society aside from it contribute to climate change
I bet you've never seen Brasilia in your life. This video is nothing next to the capital of Brazil... there's so much greenery everywhere, not just in the main avenue... like... everywhere.
Wow this looks great. You know what? Ive totally underestimated how much living quality seems to improve, when the streets have the same height like the walkway. It looks so... seamless and people friendly.
honestly it looks so good, but im not sure about the safety
@@norrbb I think you can still clearly see whats the road and whats the sidewald.
It doesnt matter if you can clearly see whats what, research has already shown separating the pedestrian+bike area away from the car street through physical barriers (whether the sidewalk is elevated or there are pillars) is safer. This rendering feels safer because the pedestrian area is so large relative to the street. If you had large streets with dinty little sidewalks like what is common in America, I guarantee you would not feel safer being on the same elevation.
I guess the only problem is the safety. In europe, we had in the last years many attacks by people driving their cars on the walkway to kill pedestrians. It would be safer if the walkway wasn't the same height, to prevent these attacks.
But I agree it feels better without them and is also wheelchair friendly.
@@mareikes5923 Better without cars all together. Loop Paris.
Looks absolutely amazing, would love to see this become a reality in the future. Love to Paris from the US 🇫🇷🇺🇸
THIS is what cities of the future look like! I hope UK cities take note and start realising: Cities are for people, not cars.
Period
Paris and most other European cities are decades ahead in urban planning Vs the UK
Cities are for people and their personal vehicles.
Quite.

I wonder how long it took for them to render all that
Like 10-15 minutes with a powerful computer. It's not a detailed animation with many moving parts so it is very easy actually
@@martonandorka what load of nonsense! 10 to 15 minutes.. I guess you can even tell us what software was used? Tosser!
hThat's made on Lumion. I guess, at least, 48h. On a regular pc a 20sec animation, with ambience effects, reflections, etc, could take 9h

It was made using twinmotion....
@Nicolás Gamart Yeah, imagine programming all those people and cars in

As someone who will probably only afford to visit France once in their life time, I'm actually glad I won't be able to afford a full trip until after 2024 now. Gives me a little bit more to look forward to.
It's really breathtaking when concretes meets trees!😍
In 10 years we’ll be like “why did we ever cover our beautiful streets with streets full of cars?”. (Besides Americans ofc)
The problem in America is not an attitude of wanting to drive cars, it's because the oil companies lobby a lot of money in the government so that the government does not promote public transportations.
Because the beauty of the cars makes the streets. Such was the wish of Marie de Medicis who created the Cours la Reine for carriages. Once the trees grow uncut 'à la française', the Arc the Triomphe shall disappear and fall into disrepair, and abandonment. France is not England.
In 10 years, Norway's going to own a lot more than just this piece of land, central London and central New York.
This is all Norwegian property. Hashtag Government Pension Fund Global.
@@Iuventius Very true. Not to mention that most of the infrastructure and cities were designed and built after the introduction of the automobile and that makes it nearly impossible to walk or cycle anywhere.
Hermoso proyecto. ¡Felicidades!... 🇫🇷 ❤️🇫🇷😘😍🇫🇷
I lived not far from Place de la Concorde and always thought what a waisted space at such an amazing spot. Getting to that fountain was taking your life in your hands.
Same it's a hostile place and it's a shame because it really important place for our history !
Beautiful vision to make it happen, but with tunnels around the arch,
so that there is no traffic stops at all.
There are already tunnels under the Place de l'Etoile.
It's a fucking nightmare. Yeah, these gardens will be full of people if people have to travel to them for like 2 hours. This is utter globalist bullshit. Just like this channel.
@@duerandaggi How is this "utter globalist bullshit?" Because Parisians themselves want to reduce road traffic in their city? It's actually the result of applied local politics as this is an initiative forwarded by the city council, not dictated by whomever the fuck you believe to be the culprit (let me guess: The EU).
Also: This is Paris, not some bumfuck in the remote American midwest where cities don't even bother to install sidewalks as people use their cars to get everywhere. Paris has a functioning and pretty sophisticated subway system bringing everything inside city limits into comfortable walking distance.
no, the Champs Élysées should get rid of cars anyway, as a Parisian, we want more car-free zones.
@@imanethe1175 If you want to live in the middle of the fields, there are plenty of those in France and elsewhere, move to a village or middle of nowhere. Cities are unique, and what makes them unique is mingling of the people and easy access.
J'ai tellement hâte!! C'est tellement BEAU 😍 J'espère toujours habiter à Paris quand ça sera comme ça !
I just can't wait! It's GORGEOUS 😍 I hope I'll still live in Paris when this neighborhood looks like this!
Paris is a gorgeous city, no doubt about it, but the cost of living in the capital is insane. I spent 5 years there, and used to pay 800€ for a 18 square metres studio as a tenant. The idea of buying a flat there crossed my mind at some point, but paying over 220 000€ for a 20 square metre studio was simply not conceivable (10 000€ per sq metre is mad...lol), the grass is much greener in Nantes.lol
Paris is really the most magical romantical city of the world , i lived in roma in italy and it is not really like paris many antical buildings but not artistical like in france for food fashion arts architecture etc.... french are so unique i think really... good for paris the world capital !!!
@@egran2150 Well thx but Rome is quite something special too ! You're lucky :p
The attention to detail is absolutely outststanding, what an incredible concept!
Faut espérer que se soit possible ! Et qu'il ne reste pas à l'état de projet qui puisse finir un jour dans les oubliettes.
I love this trend of greening cities. When you replace concrete with living plants, break up and absorb city noise and hear birds chirping, searing sun with shaded microclimates, you inspire people to have healthier minds and better lives. Please bring this to America, we desperately need healthier minds, bodies and communities. America is dying.
Un rêve!!!!!!!
THAT'S SO BEAUTIFUL!!, IT IS AMAZING, i can't wait to see it finished
*J'aime mon pays 🇫🇷 Fierté ♥️*
Beautiful city in the world
This would make Paris even more beautiful... 😍🗼
Pretty nice overall, but I would recommend to keep the original cobblestone streets that are already there.
this plan is amazing because in 2024 Paris will use this for the Olympic 24

Future cities are car-free, and this is a great advancment and the closest we have to a futuristic project
Future cities are not going to be car-free. I as an urban and regional planner and futurist will lobby the government and the market to prevent your attempts to restrict the Worlds urban mobility and the free will of the people to choose how they travel.
@@mapgar1479 My attempts? What, so you take me like an evil masterplanner to eliminate cars from earth lol? I just meants as public transport will grow to take over for greener cities, but with the electric car and autonomous car rising it won't happen probs
OMG its so cool... The render it to be a perfect like this its so amazing...
Wonderfull project..for paris
MAGNIFIQUE ... si cela se réalise 🤔
It looks really dope, i'm just kind of concerned about the traffic which is already a nightmare in Paris. But yeah maybe it's time to ditch cars in major cities and move on to a more modern conception of mobility.
You don't really need a car I side Paris. I guess some good, protected park and ride would be needed for people coming in from further away.
Cars are modern?
@@leonrothier6638 Nuclear weapons are modern, too...
@@leonrothier6638 Well, the notion of having to own a car as a status symbol despite living in a very densely populated urban environment is certainly antiquated. If you add up all the spaces dedicated to road vehicles you'll come to realize it being downright insane - especially considering most people use those for less than two hours a day.
Of course you can't just throw the cars out, leave the rest to an underfunded Public Transport System and call it a day. Additional Concepts need to be found. It's also not wise to ban road vehicles altogether as you still have logistics to take into account: Deliveries (both private and commercial), Garbage disposal, Emergency Services and also people having to move every now and then.
well, we Parisians don't want cars, the traffic is a nightmare for a reason : discourage the use of cars.
J'adore regardé les bisounours ! c'est merveilleux les voitures roulent très lentement plus de délinquance et autres énergumènes ,magnifique, de beaux arbres verts des fleurs partout la nature est belle !!!
Vive Paris !
summer day in paris looks great
As someone who lives in Paris and runs a channel about it, I genuinely hope to see this asap! The avenue is too loud at the moment and we almost never go there.
Why dont yo move to quiet place like Aspen, Colorado, or Tacoma, Washington, etc
@@jplatour596 when you love something, you do not run from it. Well, at least I don’t. 🤷🏻♂️

This is incredible... cant wait!
i love it!!
So beautiful ! I wish it would as sunny more often in Paris.... 🤭🤫
It’s a major axis for vehicles leaving Paris and coming in, you can’t just expect to mix cars and parks in the same environment, it will immensly slow down traffic creating more traffic jam, more pollution and more accidents. You should dig a tunnel for the cars to let them pass underground.
Paris’ goal is to cut car traffic. A lot of places in the city have already been modified and one day or another the Champs Élysées will pass the test. I understand what you meant to say but cars are such a problem in Paris
Let your car in the garage and took the public transportation to go wherever you wants to... the nature thanks you.
@@ivine.honorato it takes me 20 minutes to go to work with my car. It takes more than 1 hour with public transport. Now do the calculation for round trip: 2.5 hours per day for commuting instead of 40 minutes, everyday. Now imagine you spend half of those 2.5 hours in a dirty overcrowded full of viruses and mentals public transport and the other half walking under heavy rain while your umbrella cannot resist the wind or in freezing cold. Now you have an idea why the car is always better?
@@5Siver where do you. If it's anywhere in North America then you shouldn't talk. Public transportation in the states is atrocious and basically non existent

Paris is the best city
Muy buenos diseños y que creatividad en una de las ciudades mas hermosas del mundo
Cidade dos sonhos! 🤩
Sérieusement c’est le monde de oui oui !!!
Magic magnifique fantastic
SPECTACULAR!!!!@
Great in concept, but if you continue to allow all vehicles, there will continue to be conjestion. I cannot picture the champs elysees having only a couple cars on the road in any situation. Maybe restrict it to only taxis and buses?
Otherwise, this is VERY MUCH needed. Many more free kid-friendly spaces. Yes!!! I can’t wait to see it all someday.
i love th eunderstanding that the most effective manner would be a small, low speed vehicle path in the middle not 100% non vehicle
Wow from🇮🇩
this is actually so exciting
I would prefer more cobbled streets with nicer colours but this looks a whole lot better than it used to be!

Trees are very useful.
Thats amazing animations
See future in no mask feels good 😊
So much great public space stuff happening in europe
So they won't cut the trees "à la française" anymore ?
Don't worry, we are growing these trees to build new guillotines 👍
As you understand so well, the trees cut "à la française" is what makes the Champs-Elysés. When it shall look like a forest in Portland in Oregon, the Arc de Triomphe shall be abandonned
@@jplatour596 What's your problem?
Yes!
Paris is beautiful. Trees are beautiful. But please don't hide the beauty of Paris behind too many trees. You can't see the city. It was never meant to be a park. If you want trees go outside the city. One of the great things about Paris is the long vistas along the boulevards. Stop trying to improve perfection.
Paris should consider doing this because I study there and let me tell you there is not many trees in the city 😕😬 and it looks kinda grey not so pretty accept the buildings of course 😅
we should get rid of the ugly car concrete
❤️ mon Revê , Paris ❤️🇫🇷⚜️
You know it's going to look weird for the first decade or so as they wait for the trees to grow.
I'm sure the city will plant decently-sized trees already
? There already are trees alongside the avenue, as in most streets of Paris actually.
Almost all the trees you see in the video are already there! The changes will mainly consist in more bush-covered areas, wider sidewalks and cycling lanes and a lighter shade for the pavement.
Are bicycle lanes being considered? And, the Koons tulip bouquet will finally get a location?
There are bike lanes in this video.
I love the design but I wouldn't allow cars through it.
I don't think you realise how essential cars are for some people who need them to go to work in Paris.
Only electrical ones
You can restrict private vehicles to a degree but you still have a large public sector relying on individual transportation such as emergency services and garbage disposal. You'll find people have to move every now and then and the easiest way to pull that off still is by organizing a moving van.
You probably bought every CG character library in the universe.
