👋😂👌I’m Lmfao! That motor looks like it could power a Prius! That’s insane!😂👍great stuff Matt! By the way that is a nice color combination!👌😎👍that’s a nice little rig! Looks like an old fj cruiser! Love the looks of that yellow toyojeep! Crawler!
Looking forward to the “how to pack” video - I’m always bringing several RCs in the bed of my pickup (with tools and spare parts etc) and never sure how to secure them best.
Awesome. I'm curas to how you pack your RC's for plane travels. I've been flying with mine for a few years now. Curious to see what new tricks I can learn from.
I use the Proline bag($60) for my crawler and I place it in the overhead compartment. Then just put the wheels/tires and radio in a backpack by my feet.
I can't wait to see what you guy's come up with on those Vanquish Phoenix Rockets!! Start with a Flux Capacitor, and build around that,,, "that's all I can tell you"🤫😂🤣
I like that idea of how to pack for a trip, heading back to Canada i got a few rigs i need to bring back to T.O. so ill be definitely paying attention to your tips
Great video man. You had a well deserved break. But still made sure we saw something. That motor and esc is HUGE and awesome. Can't wait to see the mayhem builds hahaha I really like that Marlin build you did. I just ordered a ierc v2 merge chassis kit with sliders amd angled skid for my ecto build. Pretty exited. Also have a line on a brazin scale c1 chassis. For something.... hahaha. Maybe the origin... Anywho It was fun seeing you and Josh having all that fun out there. Great stuff. 😎👍👍
Mesh is so important on the 5th scale stuff, you will melt a spur gear if it's not right. We always used to use a business card instead of paper with way more success.
Hey Matt . I've been into RC Crawling since it became popular and RC anything for about 30 years.. I have to admit You have the best channel and show In You Tube Land. Just bought the VS4-10.. SO..maybe I'll be able to build the same Phoenix your about to build I trust your opinion so ill emulate ya since your a rc guru. I did get the F10 str8 axle version. So do this show asap..lol Great Video Thanks 😊 👍. Nice knife joke.. 🔪
You should go back, I've already done content on the straight axled Phoenix! Unless you're talking about our Mayhem challenge, then, you'll have to wait until after October 31st!
Get some AS150 connectors. They're anti spark so you don't pucker up every time it sparks lol. Was going to recommend QS8 but Castle recommends 150A + continuous connectors. QS8 are rated at 110A I think, they'll probably be just fine but I like to err on the side of caution.
As a suggestion use qs8 connectors there 8mm and u can get them in anti spark is a big plus and also on the battery the xlx can pull massive amps and connectors get hot even with castle's recommended plugs also the 800 Cann handle massive gear I like to keep my Temps around or below 160 to prolong the investment even if it was free I sold a arm for mine just giving some helpful advice with the experience I had hope find useful and keep up great work and have a great day.
That VS4-10 chassis looks veeeeery wide! Can't wait to see what you guys are up to. Also please tell your contacts at HPI to get a move on, I want that Baja :D
the castle connectors will work flawlessly with that setup. I've been running them for years and have had zero issues. Get the castle cap pack. prevent any "browning" issues. Be ready to destroy those rear tires!! you have been warned. lol
Just watched this, and I was struck with a video idea that you can have for free! LOL, I am building the VS410 straight axle kit, ( I love it, it's awesome) A tutorial on how to install e-clips would be pretty helpful. Spent a good chunk of yesterday trying to get the shock shafts together. Vanquish provided a grand total of 2 extra clips. So I had a fun time chasing clips that had been launched around the room,. they are also stainless steel, which are not ferrous and can bend easily. Just curious as to how you (and Josh) deal with this.
Quick thought, maybe the Baja can be suspended center up high with hooks angled down or on the wall showing its monstrosity. Not ever just till it gets dirty. Idk just a thought. Nice color choice. 👍
The paint needs to be specific to polycarbonate bodies or it will do that. Proper cleaning before painting is a must as well.Warm soap and a towel to remove any residue. Thanks for watching!
@@scalebuildersguild I use tamiya PS paint. But I don’t do any prep. Will have to try that! Maybe I’ll try the paint that you used in this video as I am from Ontario as well!
@@cameronlogan01 Another tip. Get a dish cleaning sponge that has a side of rough fibers and use that side to clean the body. Just lightly apply pressure when cleaning. That will scuff up the lexan to give the paint something to bite into.
Well, I’m sure you must have put a a link in one of your videos, we’ve heard so often “I made this knife”, and now I have to get one so I can tell people “You know I made this knife!” So I can share in the fun…
You better never let that "I built this Knife " speech get old. You've kept it for this long it just gets better in my opinion. If you forget once and a while edit that s**t in! It's understandable. 😆 🤣 I promise you I'll unsub jk
is there a way you can talk with axial to tell them to stop coming out with Jeeps😂 and at least make a 1989 3500 series diesel Suburban Square body tribute LOL, you know how fast those would sell because everyone is always trying to customize a truck to be an old school Suburban and not like the Vanterra body that was ugly 🤣
The knife thing is getting old. Pretty soon it should be funny again. Then it will be hilarious and than just a fact of life. HPI paint scheme look like another winner.

Matt,
Good idea with the " How I travel/pack with RC'" is excellent. We would (family) like to travel with the RC stuff.
Stay tuned!
That joke may never get old but it’s become a little dull. 🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂 I’ll be here all week folks!!
😂
Congrats on your plastic vindication! Seriously, looking forward to the Baja ripping it up! Glad Cali was a great trip!
Always cool/fun talking to you and Josh. And thank you for signing my Pro-Line/light-bar hat.
Really like the VS4-10 Toyota.
Great talking to you too!
Love the paint scheme for the Baja Matt. The buggy has a bit of an F1 look to it so I think your choice is great.
I think so too!
Coming together nicely, can’t wait to see the build complete
The knife bit gets better everytime
Glad you like it! I get mixed reviews!
@@scalebuildersguild yeah mixed review from me.
Liking your colour choice for the 5B 👍🏼
Thank you!
Qs8 antispark connectors is what u wanna use
That castle motor is a beast, I run one in my Xmaxx with a Hobbywing Max5 esc. You’ll have lots of fun with it!
Thanks, good to know!
Super stoked that you're doing an homage to the OG Baja 5B. Can't wait to see it done and running.
Coming soon!
really like what you're doing for paint scheme and color on the Baja.

Glad you had a fun holidays and enjoyed the Proline event. Stay RAD Matt and stoked to see that Baja out there 🙌.
Thanks! Will do!
Hey Matt, put that Castle motor in the Phoenix!! Instant WIN if it stays together. 😆

I wonder if i can get that esc mount plate for my original Baja that I converted to electric I don't like the mount plate I made

Free Gas motor plates for all Flux owners......🤔
You could turn it into a knife?
Looks great Matt! Just checking in from FL. How fast do you think it will be? My guess is 50.
50 would be a lot for the Baja, but who knows!
Gear down and use a max4 Hobbywing esc and run 12s. It’ll blow you away

800kv soda can!
Looks like an 8oz. can of 7UP.
Hpi paint job on the Baja man...
Should I go with the 800kV system in my 5B or the 1100kV?
Can someone explain the pros and cons of both?
Thanks
800kv. 1100 would be far too spicy on 8S in my opinion. Actually, 6S at 800kv is perfect.

Can you wedge that motor in an SCX24
