And probably a lot cheaper. I like the ruggedness of this trailer, but it is basically a cargo trailer with some sparse tool boxes screwed to the wall for a really high price.

After watching ATC site I saw the new gooseneck
My suggestion would be for you to do a full review of their 32 and 40 foot trailer. Even tow it with you truck. Plus with this trailer your unbiased review would help future buyers as well as ATC in further developing this excellent line of trailers. Excellent video

That's a sick trailer, love that they are using azdel throughout the entire trailer along with aluminum.
So no rust and no delamination. No worries of your stapled together cabnets falling apart. Truely a step above at a very reasonable price point.

I mentioned many times to review this trailer glad you did... my mother actually just bought that exact same 28 foot front bedroom with all those same options with the generator onboard and everything and she paid far far less then that so the msrp of that is up that high but it was in the mid40s when it was all said and done just throwing it out there

nick samay - so it can be done at much less than MSRP. $40k ish is reasonable but likely a fight with high profit sales greedy folks. Will look at used market too in ten years.

They have a ATC in Fort Worth off 121 and Beach street here in Texas. They are nice but they are literally twice the price and they do NOT save that much weight. I looked at the 24 foot and they wanted $80k for it and it was only 600 lbs lighter than a steel one. I’m looking at a Sundowner right now for $42K with a 12’11” garage 4960 dry weight and a 8050 GVWR 8’ wide garage. 3500 lb Spread axle and it will smoke this ATC in quality. It is also 1/2 Ton towable 3 season coach instead of a 1 season like this ATC . It is also a aluminum toy box trailer. If you know anything about sundowner they make high end horse trailer with full living quarters and are now in the business of starting to make toy box trailers. Sundowner used to make the trailers for the Budweiser Clydesdales back in the 90s and early 2000. I used to wash their trailer every year when they would come to Texas for the stock show and Pioneer days. You step into one of those trailers and you step into a ATC and you will literally ask this guy I thought you said this was nice? The 24’ ATC I looked at weight around 5800 lbs when compared to the sundowner at the same length I don’t know what weight saving they are talking about, specially when it’s over 1,000 lbs heavier . You can make your own conclusion but I would look at Sundowner if you are looking for a very high quality toy box hauler. Nice video though.

World of difference in this and a typical RV. We had horses and spent many weekends camping with the horses but also used that trailer for lake and beach weekends at campgrounds. It was all aluminum except the torsion axles and gooseneck, even had extruded aluminum slat floor. 42'L x 8'W x 8'T, 12' slide-out, full living quarters with 16' short wall on slant load trailer. When not taking horses we put grill and outdoor things where horses ride, along with collapsible tack room which allowed driving a golf cart into trailer. That trailer had every option the latest fifth wheel campers had but held resale value and was a very solid trailer. My wife has been wanting a fifth wheel and I told her I prefer getting another living quarters horse trailer even though we no longer own horses. It is built to haul weight (no under-sized axles), all aluminum structure and exterior, features of RV, they tow extremely well and they hold value. We towed 2-3 horses all over the East coast and mountains for 8 years with that trailer, no idea how many miles we put on the trailer. Never had any issues with it. My Mother-in-Law has a 10 year old camper set up on a beach lot, has been towed approximately 200 miles total. I went to check it for her Sunday to see if it needs any attention prior to her going this Spring to spend most of the Summer. First thing I noticed was how soft the floor was throughout the camper, every step felt like walking on a sponge. She has been getting RV guys in there every Summer for the past 4 years repairing things that are falling apart and it's not even used as a towed unit.

AHAHAHAHAAHA -- better check on the quality issue with lots of the yutube videos that are on here about the problems they are having with these so-called well built trailers - - and most don't ever use yutube - they are having plenty of issues - especially for the price they demand - very poor quality control- if yu really look into em - and getting them fixed seems to be an issue also - some have even had problems with the axles of all things - they surely have suppressed as much as possible about such issues - very unprofessional like for sure - as if their workers and supervisors are incompetent - I grew up in a supervision family 7 decades ago -- the all aluminum is all that is special as to what I notice after years of looking - I am disappointed at the price verses the quality - twice as much - with problems - that sometimes are very big hassles to deal with - they blame it on their dealers of course ! - and only intervene if demanded to ! * - Rich people seem to have those issues if yu have ever noticed -

That is a great trailer and I'm impressed. My engineer son-in-law would love the industrial looks but many women wouldn't. Many people question why we bought a King Aire when we could have gotten a same sized Tiffin, Entegra, and such cheaper. I said because you have to pay for quality and a High end components. Quality cost more but maintains its value.

We bought an ATC toy hauler. It arrived with all kinds of things wrong with it. We’ve spent the past year documenting (videos and photos) the issues, on the phone and on the computer (emails) trying to get replacement parts and/or arranging to have things fixed. After over a year, things are finally close to what they should have been for a brand-new unit. Whenever I posted to ATC’s Facebook page, I was attacked, bullied for being disloyal, accused of everything from inflicting the damage ourselves to identity theft. It’s been a horrible, horrible experience. We’ve performed all but two of the repairs ourselves because, if the experts couldn’t build it correctly, how could we trust a dealer, who just sells them, to do a good job? The one time we did take it to the dealer to fix one of the rainwater leaks, they replaced the wrong part, and made the leaking area even larger.

    • @elaineclguerrero5592
      @elaineclguerrero5592 3 роки тому +3

Buyer Beware. We spent over 70k on ours: the roof leaked; several windows leaked, the gasoline system had two leaks, several cabinet doors and drawers were crooked, bent, or scratched. There was a chunk gouged out of the shower and its floor was cracked. The stereo did not work. The upholstery on both couches was ripped. The Happijac was installed incorrectly with loose/ bent screws and does not work properly - we are afraid that someone sitting below is going to get killed if/when the upper bed fails. Although under warranty, they refused to fix it without charging us. The back door is missing a seal … and on and on. We spoke with the dealer and ATC, and then asked about fixes on the ATC Facebook page. We were accused of damaging the rig ourselves, even though our photos were dated the day the hauler was delivered, while the driver was still there. I was accused of making it all up and of identity theft. Again, Buyer beware.

Another awesome video brother 👊. Jeff was a good guy to interview...very knowledgeable about the company and their products. You both made very good points about buying quality/ longevity vs. just only buying at a specific price point. I think with most everything, you do get what you pay for.
You know... they are making a specific type of trailer out of specific materials to do a job and do it well. If someone doesn't like the design inside or the price or whatever then keep looking for something that's right for you. If I were in the market for a new toy hauler I would definitely look into this one.

We saw this at the New England RV Show in Hartford CT back in January and the ATC are very well made and eliminates all the water leak rot issues that you'll get in any other RV.... as every RV will have a leak or two in time! These even have duel-pane windows and very large tanks... but... Our biggest concern was the very low insulation factor... We'd rather loose 4" of interior and be able to camp more comfortably in less than perfect weather.. also the better noise reduction with more insulation is a must... Love Your Neighbor... but you don't have to love your neighbor's noisy kids or generator!!!
    I'm glad they now have shorter 5rs with the 36 & 32!!
My ATC wish list for a 36' 5r would be...
    1) R40 roof, R11+ Walls, R35+ floors with enclosed belly!!
    2) Bedroom slides (Gives you more leg room even with a King, Larger closet space & Washer/Dry prep)!!
    3) Wood cabinets or at least wood cabinet doors esp in the bedroom.. (We plan on going full-time so the metal cabinets are not very homey/warm feeling)!!

  • @jimegan7077

ATC has been on my radar for the past year. Solid, thoughtful construction that doesn't weigh anywhere close to my current bumper pull toy hauler. The only downside is the lack of four season capability. It's not an option for me, it has to be able to function down to about 5° F.
The track system in the garage is sweet. That would make securing my side by side a lot easier. Hose out the garage? I could get used to that.
One thing I don't recall seeing in that trailer is a skylight - at least not in the bathroom shower. To me, that's a good thing. One less component on the roof that will leak.
How well will that tongue take to a WDH?

Very nice trailer. He is right, with aluminum you are talking decades not years. We have 1996 aluminum frame and skin Holiday Rambler. This type of trailer will last for long long long time.

I greatly value your videos and input on these trailers. The importance of structure build quality is overlooked by most RVrs. This unit being reviewed is without a doubt very well built. However not very roomy for a full timer. In your opinion what are some of the best Toy Hauler RVs for full time living.

No, not at all like an Airstream. Airstreams are loaded with wood and weigh a ton. The ATC is much better quality than the Airsteams. I know because I live in mine full time.

I managed a RV store for a little while. I saw many people spend thousands of dollars repairing shotty work by manufactures. I am under the impression most all manufactures are garbage. While managing the RV company, I vowed I would never buy any trailer other than an ATC. Your mileage may vary but IMO, ATC is at the top of the food chain as far as I'm concerned for toy haulers.

RV's and Trailers are like the old car sales market, start high and negotiate down, big discounts if you buy at the right time of the year because most manufacturers over produce.

They don’t talk about price because they are over double the price for not double the warranty. My Sundowner has a 8 year Warranty and when I checked on the warranty for the ACT toy hauler it was like a act of Congress for them to tell me it had a 3 year warranty. They do not have a 24-7 hot line you can call if you have a problem with your trailer. They only way to get a warranty issue taken care of or just normal maintenance you have to do it all by email and that takes weeks and sometimes months to get a response. The 32 foot Sundowner is a whopping 500 lbs heavier than the 32 foot ATC. WoW ( LoL ) 500 lbs difference for double the price and not even a third of the warranty. My Sundowner is aluminum also, I payed $40K in 2019. The ATC I looked at that was 32’ with half the garage size was $85K. That was also a 2019. Get what you want it’s your choice, for me it’s a no way in Hades will I buy a ATC anything for over double the price and not even a third of the warranty. Maybe they have changed, who knows. All I’m saying is ask lots and lots of questions and do your homework.

Aluminum is a good construction material with several benefits, that being said, many years ago when they first started producing Aluminum livestock and cattle trailers they were very prone to cracking and you needed special equipment and welders to do repairs on them. In general Aluminum does not have the same flexibility as steel, at least the cattle trailers couldn't flex very much without cracking.
