    I also use this configuration, using a bi-pod in locations where I expect the wind will not cause problems and I want an unobstructed view. I've spent some amazing evenings, nights, and mornings like this. If using a fire, though, I usually light the fire and let it build up a large ember bed with few flames before raising the tarp so as to reduce the risk of spark damage to the tarp and other equipment. I've found that some sizeable logs can then be added to this without much risk of large flames through the night. I really need to see if a Siberian lay will work better, but not done so, yet :)

    • @Taromovies
      @Taromovies  3 роки тому +5

      Thanks for you response Mark, yes with the fire and ember makes sense, so you at least a little support during the night and with this open setup no problems with nitrogen, safety is the reason why I use a fire box for it, good to control, to move if I have too, warm while in cooking, but of course no heat support during the night, all the best, Taro

    Hallo Taro, vielen Dank für das zeigen des Tarp-Setups.
    Meine Erfahrungen nach müsste man erst über das Wetter ansich diskutieren,😃 um überhaupt Verständnis für ein Tarpaufbau zu bekommen.
    Wovor möcht ich mich draussen schützen? Ein paar Regentropfen? Werden die dann aber bald zu einem Regenguss? Dreht der Wind in der Nacht.
    Das sind Dinge die bedacht werden müssen, meiner bescheidenen Meinung nach. Ich sehe leider wenige Tarpvarianten die im Regen vorgestellt werden. Das fehlt mir bei den meisten Vorstellungen.
    Deswegen fände ich es toll, wenn Du Deine Erfahrungen, die Du unbestritten hast, mal im Regen, Sturm...mit einer schlecht-Wetter- Variante zeigen könntest.
    Viele Grüße lieber Taro aus Kochel am See
    Sven

    • @Taromovies
      @Taromovies  3 роки тому +1

      Hallo Sven, ja da hast Du natürlich recht, diese Aufbauvariante empfehle speziell für Bushcraft-Aktivitäten, ein geschützter Platz der genug Raum für Bewegung, Kochen, Schnitzten, Schlafen etc. bietet und keine Notunterkunft zum Schutz für extreme Wetterbedingungen darstellt aber auch für Regenwetter gut geeignet ist, ich hoffe wieder mehr Zeit für neuen Videos zu haben und werde Deinen Input gerne aufnehmen, LG und einen schönen Sonntag, Taro

    Hi Taro! Nice to see you back with another “masterclass” in tarpology, much appreciated 👍 my only concern is the amount of sparks flying from the Firebox were there any problems with burn holes in the tarp? Kind regards as always from deepest Dorset England 👍

    • @Taromovies
      @Taromovies  3 роки тому +5

      Hi Clive, that’s why I use a fire box and no larger campfire, the higher end of the tarp is high enough, the fire box is easy to move if wind is changing, it needs a bit more attention when you start the fire, but later with a good ember there are less sparks, never had problems but of course you have to take care, kind regards. I thought you would use the plough point tarp shelter, you have surprised me because I did not know this configuration, I have to try it

      Thanks for your response, the plough point setup needs more ground space and the angle is lower so less head space, this kind gives you also a better heat reflection because of the closer and steeper back, wish you fun by trying

    Great tarp setup, almost hard to believe it's just 3x3 m - looks bigger. When you tie up the cordage on the tree, how do you prevent water running down inside your tarp, in case of rain?
    Great video @Taro 👍

      Hi Gina, thanks for stopping by, do you mean rain water form the tree connection? Never had problems with it except it’s very stormy and the rain and wind comes to the front, but then I just change the setup, in my latest video it was raining and I use the same setup, please check it out and don’t hesitate to ask again, take care, Taro
