Totally agree. Since this video was posted, I changed out the wiring for Emerson Custom wiring as well and MAN did it improve even this awesome tone. Cheers!
One more thing... Is the sound pretty well balanced across the strings? I have some old EMGs on mine and the A - G are softer than the E and I have tried a few different setup options already. Thinking its the magnets on the pups at this time.
From my ears, yeah. Very well balanced across the strings. I’ve got some work to do in evening out my playing but they still sound as balanced as they can be!
Your voice comes through nice clear and with more than enough volume, the bass sounds like you have the volume on 2. I can barely hear the bass. Turn the volume up so that we can hear what the pickups sound like
I just bought a set on Ebay. Haven't gotten them yet, but I love to play though a compressor pedal. Do the Norstrands still stay quite with a compressor pedal? The Mexican I have now it noisy off the charts with a compressor pedal.
I can see that! Honestly, I was using a $100 ampeg combo and it was really not the right amp to demo anything with. On my MarkBass 1x12 rig, these punch! Thanks for checking out the video 👍🏻
Yeah dude indeed that flame is super unique. 🤟🏻
havent found a squier that looks as good yet. lucky pick!
I like a nice clean and clear and crisp pickup at the bridge.
Right! Me too.
noticed the flaming right away.. It's a gorgeous bass body. Thanks for the review. Looking at some Nordstams rn.
Thank you! Really unique top for a Squier 😁
I've got nj4se on my fretless j bass and love them so much. Also got a Jackson spectre pro with nordstrands and they're awesome sounding.
They’re really awesome pickups. Extremely happy with them in the time since I posted this video. Thanks for watching!
They have a nice R&B sound.

Love that intro! Ha! Love your videos... learning a lot!!
Heidi Dunne-Stone thanks! Always trying to learn as I go 😄

duly noted for next time! Check out my review of the Yamaha TRBX305 i just posted. plenty of volume there :D Thanks for watching.
Are you playing with flats?
My one regret for this video is I didn’t change the strings before hand!

These things are whisper quiet in this bass without a compressor, so I’d imagine a comp would sound great!
Have you tried a noise gate?
I can't believe how big the bridge pickup sounds! Not thin at all.
Dude, I know! Such a MASSIVE difference from what I was expecting. Still love them 😁
Did you have the tone turned all the way down? Sound was a bit muddy. Just wondering if that was just the tone of the pickups.
IIRC I kept the tone all the way up and singled out each pickup!
And honestly, the BA115 I was playing through isn’t the best amp either.
As a Bass Player since 1981. I think these Nordstrands sound Muddy> Dont Like Them!

R U playing with flats.
I am not! However, the strings were about 4 months old here.
Next video turn up the volume! Can’t hear them
I’ve also since upgraded my bass rig to a MarkBass Little Mark III and an Eden 1x12. Full volume vid coming up! 😁
Would have been nice to hear them without effects.
This was recorded with no effects! Straight out of the amp.
Too dark for me. A5 better.
To each their own, right? thanks for watching.
