Dhalapathara Parda

Dhalapathara Parda is an ancient technique of weaving curtains. This is done in a traditional loom with the help of ‘chiaris'. This has been registered under Geographical Identification (GI) by the Government of India. During the revival of Dhalapathara saree, we had long discussions with Mr. Brajabandhu Raut, one of the few parda artists in Dhalapathara.
