Funny thing about the hitchhiking story. I picked up a hitcher going to Mammoth Lakes from Victorville up the 395. We talked about 15-20 minutes as I told him I had friends in Mammoth, a couple that he knew. It was then he realized I wasn't a threat so he folded up the knife he had out in his right jacket pocket. I heard it click shut so I asked him about it. He smiled at me, showed me the knife and said, "never can be too careful". We laughed and sparked a hooter.
