The thing that is disturbing is that LV didn't do the reinventing. They took the ideas that their customers had for adding a chain to the toiletry pouch and called it a reinvention.
“Clowning” is thee word for it! The last item I purchased from them was the zippy organizer. These days I’m really thinking twice about buying another piece from the brand. But I do have two epi vintage wallets that I like very much. I just got a Schilling coin purse and Beverly MM in almost new condition. $325 and $850… you know you can’t get anything in the store that compares!
Oh in the minority here 😂! Bought the new one with the D rings and bonus mini. Loving the structure of the new version! Highly recommend it especially to add on a strap for crossbody.
I’m so happy I have all three toiletries (trio) 26, 19 & 15 before LV discontinued them. $1700 for the toiletry 26 just because they added a chain that is to ridiculous. Mines are still in great condition and beautiful ✨💖😀

I was excited it was back on sale and bought it for myself for my birthday in August 2022, well before I saw this video. 🤦🏾♀ However, I love it! I changed the chain to a rainbow strap from the Coach Pride line, and I wear it all the time! the I think that I have worn it enough to make it worth the price. I will definitely follow your videos!

They came out with that because they didn’t like that people were adding an insert and chain. It was the cheapest way for those people who couldn’t afford a bag, to have an authentic LV bag. I did it with the 15 and it didn’t work so well. The insert would lift up and the tail of the zipper prevented it from closing. Great video. Very informative. Thank you
I agree for sure. I love my toiletry pouches but just as that a toiletry bag. I will not nor have I added a chain or strap to the toiletry. I also think since LV saw how popular adding a chain was they decided to do the same and jack up the price. Not cool!!

But it comes with two pouches and a chain. I don’t think the price is ridiculous. Everyone is comparing the price of the 26 with the new toiletry pouch on chain. It’s not the same thing. I agree it’s not worth the money but it’s not an apples to apples comparison. People need to price out these three items separately.

Not for one moment did I ever think of ever converting them to a bag, but for those that have, hey, go for it..keep doing you and do what you like!! But not only would I not pay $1700 for the ridiculousness, I wouldn’t carry that bag, because anyone who knows LV, knows that bag to be a toiletry pouch! For that amount of money, go get another luxury brand toiletry pouch, save a few more dollars and go buy yourself a bigger and better LV bag. Hey so many other brands have great toil pouches. I got the goyard one this summer in Paris for about 1000 and the quality and features are 1000 times better than lv. Gucci’s are also less. Just look around

I have the T26 that I paid 500 & change 2 years ago, I wear it as a clutch sometimes because I like the lining for my makeup, and it’s super big, I do have an insert that I can add a chain to if I want it on shoulder but haven’t done that much, I saw Princess Diana wearing as a clutch and was obsessed, but this is ridiculous!!!

Technically nothing is worth it if you were able to already buy it in the past at the lower price. At the end of the day luxury items are not a necessity. It’s worth it to those who can afford it and enjoy the particular piece they’re buying. 🤷🏽♀️
Just because you can afford something doesn’t mean it’s worth it. I work at a top lux brand right now and we have a pair of shoes that Is in high demand. Wait list for days. 1. I think the price is too low not because of the demand but because of the quality of the shoes. However, this designer chooses not to raise the price because they aren’t into exploiting their client. I truly do not have a problem with lux brands raising prices. Even if they wanted to every year; things go up. But it has to make sense. The toil 26 doubled in price in less than 1 year. It’s poorly made, peels on the inside, and WILL crack. This is based on my experience of us taking in 100’s of them. Sooooo I thinkkk the argument you should be making is if people are okay with literally wasting their money on poorly made pieces of canvas In the name of “they can afford it” that’s within their right 😉
@@maisonmalli I completely agree with the statement expressed that just because you can afford an item doesn’t necessarily equate to worth but also worth is subjective. What is worth it to you may not be worth it to me and vice versa. My sentiment was more that if you like it and you’re not overextending yourself with a purchase financially then perhaps the particular item is worth it for that individual. I also do 100% agree that certain luxe brands exploit their customers but at the end of the day business is business for them. I could see why anyone would pass on this pouch but I will not argue someone down for feeling it is worth it for them to purchase.
A "bag" is what YOU make it not what someone else calls it. It can be made of leather, canvas, or recycled plastic materials. If it's what you want get it!

There's absolutely no way I would get this toiletry combo on a chain 😂 for that price I would get an actual cute bag from for example YSL or save a bit more and get myself a Boulogne or some other nice looking versatile handbag!! 🤐
I remembered I used to own size 26 toiletry pouches (in monogram & Damier Ebene!) I went to change the whole zipper they only cost me around $95 (in SGD). Kinda regretted I sold them away. Not to mention the repair price is insane nowadays (etc.: an SA quoted me $280 to change the whole zip for a key pouch, how sinister)
Hahaha it’s so sinister. They do that to deter the repairs and have you buy a new one. But all in all you aren’t missing out! The quality isn’t there anymore and so many nice designer brands have the same style for less
Thanks for the video! I almost got suckered. Not gonna lie, a few weeks ago I almost this and always hated the looks of pouches on chain. Just get a WOC if you’re gonna do this. It’ll hold more value and actually look like a bag. If I’m gonna do this route, I would go get the Gucci pouch for $870 and add a chain. More affordable for a bag that everyone knows it’s not a bag. No matter what LV did, it’s a pouch with a chain, not a bag. Plus, what if I need a pouch!? Now I can’t get it from LV !! It’s almost the price of a neverfull!

I paid $368 for the Toiletry Pouch 26 in 2009. A friend showed me how to change it into a crossbody bag for just a few dollars. I can't believe LV is actually selling this bag for that much money!

I have a question regarding a repair. I have a Le Fabuleux Suhali Bleu. I’m guessing I bought this around 2007🤷♀️ I have only used this bag a handful of times because quite Frankly, it’s heavy. Sat on my closet shelf for years. I decide to use it and see that the Lock strap is cracked on the Inside in several places. Then I go to monkey with the Key and literally the key strap basically fell in two and one of the brass corners lost a rivet and it’s loose. So, off the LV for repair. That’s was 9 months ago. They give me the price to repair. Great! Can’t wait to get my bag. I get a call telling me that they have no idea when they will be able to get their hands on a new strap. I could wait or they could send me the bag with no charges. Ok, just send bag back. Month goes by, I call them. Turns out that they did get the strap in but now the leather is bubbling. So, they offer me a certain amount to pick out a new bag. Wonderful, only problem is the fact that the prices have exponentially gone up and nowhere on their site is there a bag that compares to my size or to the hardware that is on my bag for the price they are allotting me. My guess is they screwed the bag up somehow otherwise why would they be offering me up a new bag when my bag is that old? Don’t get me wrong I’m grateful for that but I can’t get anything for the amount of money they’re offering me that isn’t the size of two hands lol and I do not do signature bags. So I guess my question to you is what gives what’s really going on here
Sadly none of these luxury bags are worth the price tags, canvas or leather. And now with the increases they are definitely weeding out the clientele that they don’t want. That’s just my opinion. I have several pieces in canvas. I just purchased the speedy Damier 30 less than a year ago and the lock is already changing color. I’m careful with my bags. 🤷🏼♀️
The quality just isn’t there anymore. They can try their best to cherry pick their clients but they don’t have a bag that everyone wants that’s hard to get and 2. The client they want doesn’t want all those logos. They would have to change completely &&&&&& Improve their quality

If i do cArry it as a clutch its on a vacation. I take out my toiletries and its a clutch for night. Its one less thing to pack. Other than that it carries toiletries and or makeup

I was not interested in LV when prices were reasonable. I recently purchased a couple of slgs. My last purchase was the toiletry with black leather sides. You mentioned the canvas cracking. Have you or anyone experienced this defect? Wondering if I need to return.
Unrelated but this reminds me of Prada's Saffiano leather wallet being $950ish back in 2020 during COVID but they added a chain and it went up to $1,000ish to $1,250 in 2021. Now it's sold out. ☹
I think it is unethical because LV knows it’s poorly made, they know it will have issues ie crack, but they continue to raise the price. This is for canvas in general

luxury is a lifestyle. I wear my luxury everywhere. taking my son to school, going to the grocery store, wherever you want. I don’t believe in saving things for special occasions. we’ve only got one life to live and we should live it to the fullest. I also think it’s OK to have bags that aren’t super expensive I have bags that are $300 just do what makes you happy.
I’ve never liked LV bags. To me, they look like plastic. Even the leather bags look like cheap leather (I have no idea what kind of leather they are), and there is just no confidence in their products for me. Believe me, the company is laughing at its consumers when they sell items that probably cost $10 to make, for $1,500.

Watched your review when first published and been studying this issue for months..... and I'm about to purchase the new toiletry 26 on chain (TP 26 on chain). To me it's a totally different handbag (and yes, I do see it as a handbag) than the previous toiletry 26 (which was not a handbag). I never paid attention to or purchased any toiletry pouch in the past for some reason. Maybe because I don't carry a lot of makeup or toiletries. For travel I use something totally different - something clear (to see my stuff) and durable. So I don't feel betrayed by LV, and could care less about toiletry 26's history as "a makeup bag." TP 26 on chain does not at all look like that to me. The vachetta sides make it look elegant and polished, and it's seems to be much thicker and sturdier. I think it's gorgeous. For years I wished LV would offer a flatter body-friendly handbag in canvas that was about 10" long x 8" tall, that could be carried as a clutch or shoulder/crossbody. I'm one who prefers canvas and I come to LV specifically for that. My older LV canvas items have held up incredibly well. I can get designer leather from several other lux brands. Voila...the TP 26 on chain. As for your comparisons.... Felicie is selling for a whopping $1490 for a much smaller bag with a couple of flat inserts. Once you put the inserts in you can barely get anything else in. TP 26 on chain is larger, will fit more, and comes with card slots and another whole pouch - a toiletry 15, which is itself selling on the pre-loved market for over $500. Pochette Metis? Apples and oranges. It's too fat...too much depth for me. I like flatter bags and use totes for larger stuff when needed. And I really dislike the fussy PM closure. Bought it and sent it right back. Pochette Accessories? For real? No comparison at all. It's T-I-N-Y. And it's selling for $1290 !!!!! Bought that a few years back and sent it right back too. With the new TP 26 on chain, no insert is needed. It already has d-rings and a nice chain from LV, and will also look great with a monogram crossbody strap I already own. Will probably sell the included toiletry 15 immediately and recoup some $$. LV could've avoided pissing off previous loyal toiletry customers by using a totally different name for this new item. It's a totally different offering.

I have the T26 that I paid 500 & change 2 years ago, I wear it as a clutch sometimes because I like the lining for my makeup, and it’s super big, I do have an insert that I can add a chain to if I want it on shoulder but haven’t done that much, I saw Princess Diana wearing as a clutch and was obsessed, but this is ridiculous!!!

Technically nothing is worth it if you were able to already buy it in the past at the lower price. At the end of the day luxury items are not a necessity. It’s worth it to those who can afford it and enjoy the particular piece they’re buying. 🤷🏽♀️
Just because you can afford something doesn’t mean it’s worth it. I work at a top lux brand right now and we have a pair of shoes that Is in high demand. Wait list for days. 1. I think the price is too low not because of the demand but because of the quality of the shoes. However, this designer chooses not to raise the price because they aren’t into exploiting their client. I truly do not have a problem with lux brands raising prices. Even if they wanted to every year; things go up. But it has to make sense. The toil 26 doubled in price in less than 1 year. It’s poorly made, peels on the inside, and WILL crack. This is based on my experience of us taking in 100’s of them. Sooooo I thinkkk the argument you should be making is if people are okay with literally wasting their money on poorly made pieces of canvas In the name of “they can afford it” that’s within their right 😉

I completely agree with the statement expressed that just because you can afford an item doesn’t necessarily equate to worth but also worth is subjective. What is worth it to you may not be worth it to me and vice versa. My sentiment was more that if you like it and you’re not overextending yourself with a purchase financially then perhaps the particular item is worth it for that individual. I also do 100% agree that certain luxe brands exploit their customers but at the end of the day business is business for them. I could see why anyone would pass on this pouch but I will not argue someone down for feeling it is worth it for them to purchase.

I remembered I used to own size 26 toiletry pouches (in monogram & Damier Ebene!) I went to change the whole zipper they only cost me around $95 (in SGD).
Kinda regretted I sold them away.
Not to mention the repair price is insane nowadays (etc.: an SA quoted me $280 to change the whole zip for a key pouch, how sinister)

Thanks for the video! I almost got suckered. Not gonna lie, a few weeks ago I almost this and always hated the looks of pouches on chain. Just get a WOC if you’re gonna do this. It’ll hold more value and actually look like a bag. If I’m gonna do this route, I would go get the Gucci pouch for $870 and add a chain. More affordable for a bag that everyone knows it’s not a bag. No matter what LV did, it’s a pouch with a chain, not a bag. Plus, what if I need a pouch!? Now I can’t get it from LV !! It’s almost the price of a neverfull!

I have a question regarding a repair. I have a Le Fabuleux Suhali Bleu. I’m guessing I bought this around 2007🤷♀️ I have only used this bag a handful of times because quite Frankly, it’s heavy. Sat on my closet shelf for years. I decide to use it and see that the Lock strap is cracked on the Inside in several places. Then I go to monkey with the Key and literally the key strap basically fell in two and one of the brass corners lost a rivet and it’s loose. So, off the LV for repair. That’s was 9 months ago. They give me the price to repair. Great! Can’t wait to get my bag. I get a call telling me that they have no idea when they will be able to get their hands on a new strap. I could wait or they could send me the bag with no charges. Ok, just send bag back. Month goes by, I call them. Turns out that they did get the strap in but now the leather is bubbling. So, they offer me a certain amount to pick out a new bag. Wonderful, only problem is the fact that the prices have exponentially gone up and nowhere on their site is there a bag that compares to my size or to the hardware that is on my bag for the price they are allotting me. My guess is they screwed the bag up somehow otherwise why would they be offering me up a new bag when my bag is that old? Don’t get me wrong I’m grateful for that but I can’t get anything for the amount of money they’re offering me that isn’t the size of two hands lol and I do not do signature bags. So I guess my question to you is what gives what’s really going on here

Sadly none of these luxury bags are worth the price tags, canvas or leather. And now with the increases they are definitely weeding out the clientele that they don’t want. That’s just my opinion. I have several pieces in canvas. I just purchased the speedy Damier 30 less than a year ago and the lock is already changing color. I’m careful with my bags. 🤷🏼♀️
The quality just isn’t there anymore. They can try their best to cherry pick their clients but they don’t have a bag that everyone wants that’s hard to get and 2. The client they want doesn’t want all those logos. They would have to change completely &&&&&& Improve their quality

Unrelated but this reminds me of Prada's Saffiano leather wallet being $950ish back in 2020 during COVID but they added a chain and it went up to $1,000ish to $1,250 in 2021. Now it's sold out. ☹
$950 to $1000 for a chain seems fairly reasonable. LV is taking a $400 pouch and charging $1760 for a chain. That’s insane.

luxury is a lifestyle. I wear my luxury everywhere. taking my son to school, going to the grocery store, wherever you want. I don’t believe in saving things for special occasions. we’ve only got one life to live and we should live it to the fullest. I also think it’s OK to have bags that aren’t super expensive I have bags that are $300 just do what makes you happy.

I’ve never liked LV bags. To me, they look like plastic. Even the leather bags look like cheap leather (I have no idea what kind of leather they are), and there is just no confidence in their products for me. Believe me, the company is laughing at its consumers when they sell items that probably cost $10 to make, for $1,500.

Watched your review when first published and been studying this issue for months..... and I'm about to purchase the new toiletry 26 on chain (TP 26 on chain). To me it's a totally different handbag (and yes, I do see it as a handbag) than the previous toiletry 26 (which was not a handbag). I never paid attention to or purchased any toiletry pouch in the past for some reason. Maybe because I don't carry a lot of makeup or toiletries. For travel I use something totally different - something clear (to see my stuff) and durable. So I don't feel betrayed by LV, and could care less about toiletry 26's history as "a makeup bag." TP 26 on chain does not at all look like that to me. The vachetta sides make it look elegant and polished, and it's seems to be much thicker and sturdier. I think it's gorgeous. For years I wished LV would offer a flatter body-friendly handbag in canvas that was about 10" long x 8" tall, that could be carried as a clutch or shoulder/crossbody. I'm one who prefers canvas and I come to LV specifically for that. My older LV canvas items have held up incredibly well. I can get designer leather from several other lux brands. Voila...the TP 26 on chain. As for your comparisons.... Felicie is selling for a whopping $1490 for a much smaller bag with a couple of flat inserts. Once you put the inserts in you can barely get anything else in. TP 26 on chain is larger, will fit more, and comes with card slots and another whole pouch - a toiletry 15, which is itself selling on the pre-loved market for over $500. Pochette Metis? Apples and oranges. It's too fat...too much depth for me. I like flatter bags and use totes for larger stuff when needed. And I really dislike the fussy PM closure. Bought it and sent it right back. Pochette Accessories? For real? No comparison at all. It's T-I-N-Y. And it's selling for $1290 !!!!! Bought that a few years back and sent it right back too. With the new TP 26 on chain, no insert is needed. It already has d-rings and a nice chain from LV, and will also look great with a monogram crossbody strap I already own. Will probably sell the included toiletry 15 immediately and recoup some $$. LV could've avoided pissing off previous loyal toiletry customers by using a totally different name for this new item. It's a totally different offering.
