Thank you for the easy instructions. I did want to top-stitch the zipper before sewing the sides. It looks a little neater and keeps the zipper in place.
Sweet. I've watched several of these today. I will pick and choose what I want from each tutorial. I like the fact you didn’t get excited about trimming anything until the end. I will make some of these for my local Christmas charity program. I think the teens will get a kick out of these. I love all my UA-cam teachers. Thx.
Love this bag! I am “Sew” glad that Tracy at The Sewing Channel introduced me to you guys! Totally a win win for me! She is great and “Sew” are you guys!
Sew Yeah I hope if you do you will post an update...would love to see them! I just found some of that vinyl so I'm excited to find something to make now...thank you!😁
You guys Rock at sewing. My gson wants to learn to sew, age 11, and you guys helped him to realize guys do sew as well. Does the excess vinyl get stuck on your ironing board or your iron? If you use your first cut line as your square up line you only have to square up in one pass of cutting the sides off, eliminating trying to square up twice. Square up with your ruler not your mat, get a more perfect cut no matter what your cutting. Use double sided tape to get the zipper to stick to the vinyl and fabric, will also allow repositioning before sewing if you need to move your zipper for a straighter line. Thanks for showing
Very cute and looks easy, great idea for gifts. I was in your shop for the first time yesterday - very nice store, great selection of fabrics and super nice staff. I order a lot of fabric online, but it's so nice to actually see the fabric in person, so I'll be returning!
Thanks so much for your feedback and for watching our tutorials! Hope to see you again soon. You can text TRADE to 833-351-0814 to receive notifications about our live events and receive special offers!
after making this, i think you should top stitch the fabric to flatten it because mine got stuck into the zipper. maybe i sewed too close to the zipper
😍😍So sorry I am just catching this .I am trying to catch up on the comments. Hope to do better in the future. Thanks for watching our lives. We appreciate it !!!!!!
I bought some iron on vinyl some time ago but I have never used it b/c I was afraid I’d mess it up. I have a DIL that works for Frito Lay (PepsiCo). This would make some adorable bags for her.
Question: what is the purpose of ironing on the clear vinyl? Is that to give it more body? Would fusible interfacing work? That seems to be less expensive.
As you can see we are behind with replies. I am catching up and hope to stay that way going forward. I hope you have found the answer to your question by now. And thanks for watching!!
Love this tutorial. Just found and like the channel. I struggle to hear clearly and wish you didn’t have music all the way through while you talk. It’s difficult to hear.

@@mrhodes7015 oh I totally agree with you, I don’t know why these people think that it’s necessary to put background music in and if they’re going to do so, it needs to be really really low

Always best to remind your audience what type of needle you are using, stitch length and what type of thread you are using. Don’t assume everybody in your audience will know these important points. I certainly like your method better but I’m surprised that as a quilt shop you didn’t quilt this candy pouch. Now I have to combine your tutorial with Missouri star quilt company‘s tutorial so I can get the Best of both worlds
Thank you so much for watching and thank you for the feedback. This is just one of many ways to do it. Feel free to use whatever method is easiest for you!

Great idea. I take it, after cutting the sides off, you wipe the inside of the bags to remove any oil and crumbs before sewing. If you didn't it would make a heck of a mess of your sewing machine and area.
I tried it as directed by another UA-camr, ironing the 8 seconds the vinyl calls for. Wrinkles up the bag. Tears - assuaged by emptying another candy bag.
Thanks for explaining slowly and reiterating instructions, appreciate the close up of the camera angles.
Glad it was helpful!

You are supposed to use a pressing cloth so that you do not ruin your iron.
I loved this video very much then.
I am so glad for that big opening to turn inside out 99% are 2 to 3 inches long. I use big openings too 🧸

This is so cute! Grandchildren coming Friday, school holidays so fun project to do, thank you 😘

Yes you need to topstitch I’m surprised he didn’t do that
Thank you so much for the wonderful easy-to-understand tutorial. I do not have a sewing machine, will it be easy/ok for me to sew by hand instead?
Yes , that's where this all started , remember?? Hand sewing
Fun little project. I’ll be making these. Thanks.
👍💕
I wonder if u could use fusible interfacing for the inside for just a little extra stiffness???
I think that would work well!
What a very descriptive video...just need to buy some candy now.. :)
😍😍
What setting shsould the iron be on? Super cute.

Thanks for the instruction! Why does it need iron-on vinyl when the candy bag is already of a similar finish?
It makes the exterior of the bag more durable.
Hello, Just found your channel. Is the Cricut iron on vinyl the same as regular iron on? Can it be used? Thanks for all the great tips.
We're not sure if that can be used, but we recommend Slicker Iron-On Glossy Vinyl for this project
Question: what is the purpose of ironing on the clear vinyl? Is that to give it more body? Would fusible interfacing work? That seems to be less expensive.
I think it's to protect it. So that the otherwise thin plastic isn't as susceptible to ripping or tearing.

Can it be done with candy wrappers? becuase I don't wanna use the chain technique witht hem, they are too cute. x_x
Absolutely!

Do you mean the Martelli rotary cutter that he’s using?

Could this technique be used on a paper shopping bag?
Not sure, we haven't tried that yet.
Question: Does the sewing machine need a more durable needle or is the vinyl thin enough that a regular would be fine?
Regular needle is sufficient.
Iron on vinyl in Australia is 50$ a roll is 2 metres.
Wow!!!!!
I'm curious, why is the iron on vinyl necessary?
🤔🤔🤗
Wouldn’t you need a teflon foot?
🤔🤔🤔
What temp do you set your iron on?
You need to follow the instructions on the vinyl product itself they’re all different
Follow instructions on the pkg
