Great video and a wonderful experience! I was there in june/july this summer, but we climbed the Rongai route. Made a video aswell :) Good luck on your future adventures!
@@annabretzke4329 Thanks a lot for sharing this experience. I do have a question: Do you have a way of taking a shower? I know is silly but I am starting to think about doing this climb and Altezza is actually the company I've been looking at
@@nataliaarbelaez3359 Yes, they do have an option where I believe you can pay more for a shower. Honestly though, you most likely will not want a shower. It is cold outside and just not the most practical. No one in our group payed for that. My dad and I brought body wipes that kind of suds up when you use them and they worked fine. I highly recommend paying for the toilet though!!
Awesome! Thanks for the video. My 20 y/o son and I are doing the 8-day Lemosho route at the end of December. I'm 57 and have about the same build as your dad. How'd he fare with the hiking and altitude?
He did great! We were never too sore in the legs or anything. I would recommend getting and breaking in your hiking boots to make sure they will not give you any problems on the mountain. He did great with altitude, but altitude really affects everyone differently and there isn’t much you can do to prepare for it. I hope you both have a great trip! It will be so much fun!
Everyone seems to carry large day packs. aside from water and maybe some rain clothes what else do you need? Im going in two weeks. Also, did you guys suffer any altitude issues?
I leave in 6 days !! I also am going with Altezza, so cool to see. For summit night, was it really cold? Debating if I should bring my own winter jacket (I’m from Canada) or rent one there?
I brought my own but their rental gear is very nice!! A lot of people rented with them and were comfortable the whole time. It just depends on your personal preference!
Jambo. Po-le, po-le. Thank you for sharing.

My sister what is this thing on your bag pack that looks like ,compass ,or its a solar??
It is a solar lamp. So we would clip it on our backpack during the day and it would charge it to work as a lamp in the tent at night!
Thank youuuuuuuu
🎉❤❤😂

Hoe much did you pay for the hike ?

We carried some toilet paper, rain gear, an extra layer, on colder days our gloves and beanies, and some snacks!
