This is exactly what I've been looking for. I don't like the way most sleeves on sheered dresses don't seem to cover a bra strap very well. Your hack is brilliant, thank you so much for sharing this. 😃
Really liked the tip about organza ... I've never used it, but a few more little tidbits like this and I might understand it a bit better. Your dress is lovely and I hope it brings you good cheer!
The dress is stunning.Your explanation was really easy to follow. As you used the width of the fabric was there a reason you didn't cut out a length, including the bodice and just shirred the top .You'd then just have to fit in the sleeves .This is how we did them in the 70's but I thought there may have been a design element why you didn't use this method.I hope this makes sense. I really look forward to your vlogs as your designs and fabric choices are always stunning. Your jumper was gorgeous, did you make hat and if so what pattern did you use?
Ah I did think about that! The pieces of fabric I used for the shirring would actually have been wider than the width of the fabric. I’ve got a reasonably big bust and I didn’t want it to look “overstretched” in the front. Hope that makes sense! X
Your dress is gorgeous. Love that you can wear a normal bra with it. And I never heard of the bra strap hack 🤯. Will be doing that in my next dress i make. Thank you.
Love this! Could you do a step by step on how you attached the sleeves?

Silk organza is great for giving very light fabric a bit of body! It’s also really good as a pressing cloth too!
@@selfassemblyrequired Thank you! :-)

Did you shirr the whole top piece first and then cut away the underarm portion? I'm curious if the elastic would let go.
Wow, well done.
Thank you! ☺️

Love your dress. And your sweater. Did you knit it, and if so, do you mind sharing the name of the pattern? Thanks.
Aww thanks! I did knit it - just finished a few days ago! It’s the Cherry Cocktail Blouse from Alice Hammer ☺️
What was measurement of cloth for your size? please share.
