One advice is not to drink liquids before bed. I'm not sure if that only relates to the possibility of waking up to go to the loo, or to an effect it has on your sleep regardless of whether you wake up to pee or not. For example, I'm starting to drink camomille before going to bed but normally this isn't enough to wake me up to pee. Beyond the effects of camomille on sleep etc, does it mean this habit may reduce sleeping quality due to late liquids even if I don't wake up?
And this is serious advice, is to stop breathing from your mouth and only from nose, it makes you feel dry so you drink more water, and it's 1 of best ways to damage your health which is very bad, not sure but i think it feels harder to sleep when breathing from mouth But your nose most likely is blocked, because often, how much your nose allows you to breath is how much you should breath, that's why when you exercise your nose opens up, because your body needs more oxygen, but when laying on bed or something like that, your nose gets blocked because your body needs less oxygen so the heart rate gets lower, but you can make it even lower by doing the following: breath in slowly until your lungs gets 70% full or more, wait for a second or more, breath out slowly, wait for a second or more, then repeat (you can wait for how much you want, this is just in general) And this is a better way to wind down, not looking at computer screens 2 hours before bed does a very simple difference, just don't use something that triggers you (which makes you stay longer), and decrease the brightness if possible (doesn't have to be 100%) And I literally took my time just to tell you how important this advice is, please start breath from your nose and not mouth, not gonna lie but personally for me, breathing from my mouth made me feel empty so I felt bored (at least for me)

Fitness monitors now have alarms that will not wake you up in the middle of deep sleep. It will delay the alarm by 5 to 10 minutes and if you're out of deep sleep, it will alarm.
If you read before bed to sleep, I would recommend a book that is difficult. It also should not have any material to upset you; I'd avoid politics, some history books, disturbing stories or any hot button topics. Something like physics, certain passages of literature, advanced philosophy or a similar thing. That may be why some sleep at school or during a sermon- the brain is getting worked hard, and then it tries to rest. But to be clear, you wouldn't want to rely on this to get actual school work done; I'm just saying it would be good as a sleep technique.
While everyone can improve their sleep hygiene, it's not a cure-all for those with neurological disorders. I have struggled with insomnia since childhood, well before cellphones were a bedtime companion. Before being prescribed medication a year ago, I woke up exhausted every day of my life because I couldn't stay asleep through the night or go back to sleep after my frequent waking. What I take isn't technically a sleeping pill, but it's been life changing.
This is wonderful info, but could you add some work-arounds for people like me who have one-room apartments and have to use their beds for everything all day? This is especially so during this pandemic. Also, do you have tips for improving productivity while working from home, even in a small space where you can't separate "work" and "home" areas?
Find a way to convert your space during the day. Some cultures have traditionally used a roll-up sleeping mat, but you could also lean your mattress against the wall, or adapt what you have in another simple way. The key with your bed is to not lay in it when doing anything other than sleeping, because you only want your brain to associate your bed with sleep.
I'm not in a one room apartment but what I do to change the "setting" of my bed is to put all the things from the nightstand into the bed,in a way that prevents someone to sleep on it
According to "Why we sleep" from Matthew Walker, there is no evidence that being hungry prevent you from sleeping. Can someone give me the source that links hungriness to bad sleep?

Getting out of bed and going into another room in winter is BLOODY COLD!!! Guaranteed to wake you up further and stop you getting back to sleep
my baby is now 1 years old. You all have incredibly luxurious sleep and you don't even know it
About daytime naps, how the hell am I supposed to know how many minutes I was asleep during the nap? It's not like I know exactly when I fall asleep
Try to set an alarm right before you crash
Fitness monitors now have alarms that will not wake you up in the middle of deep sleep. It will delay the alarm by 5 to 10 minutes and if you're out of deep sleep, it will alarm.
I always watch this guy in 1.25x
If you read before bed to sleep, I would recommend a book that is difficult. It also should not have any material to upset you; I'd avoid politics, some history books, disturbing stories or any hot button topics. Something like physics, certain passages of literature, advanced philosophy or a similar thing. That may be why some sleep at school or during a sermon- the brain is getting worked hard, and then it tries to rest.
But to be clear, you wouldn't want to rely on this to get actual school work done; I'm just saying it would be good as a sleep technique.
Lmao😂😂😂😂
I also find that fantasy helps
Am I the only one watching this in bed? X"D
(Hey, at least I have my blue light filter on)
-- and turn down the brightness too
@@rowboat10 I will never use a blue light filter though
@@BuickGeek24 why not?
You saying we should switch off all the lights so how do we read and if not reading what to do in dark for 2 hrs?
Watching this at 3:14 am huhu
Crazy! It is 3:17pm where I'm at. Exactly 12 hrs ahead/behind you. That's weird to think about.
Lily Hana Chan wow it’s 10:24 pm for me :0

While everyone can improve their sleep hygiene, it's not a cure-all for those with neurological disorders. I have struggled with insomnia since childhood, well before cellphones were a bedtime companion. Before being prescribed medication a year ago, I woke up exhausted every day of my life because I couldn't stay asleep through the night or go back to sleep after my frequent waking. What I take isn't technically a sleeping pill, but it's been life changing.
I agree. Real sleep disorders are not that simple to fix. Can you share with us, what medication you're taking?
I always hated blue light from my phone it gave me an brain fog so installing twilight its easy on my eyes and I sleep Better ;)
I don't use a blue light filter though
damn man who the fuck have an option these days (your videos are great btw)
BTY: Avoid too much coffee.
Also BTY: If you like my advice, please buy me a coffee.
HOW would i read a book if lights arent good....
My phone has a feature as read mode, could it possibly be as effective as the apps you suggested??
Why do I never feel 'refreshed' when I wake up after a full night of sleep? I would love to know the answer to this, can someone please help?
I'm not in a one room apartment but what I do to change the "setting" of my bed is to put all the things from the nightstand into the bed,in a way that prevents someone to sleep on it
@@pangolimazul6055 Thanks, but that wouldn't work for me because my bed is also my sofa and "TV chair". 🙂
and can you add what the scramble is for that rubiks cube lol
make more money and get a 2br
According to "Why we sleep" from Matthew Walker, there is no evidence that being hungry prevent you from sleeping. Can someone give me the source that links hungriness to bad sleep?
Watching at 2 am about 10 habits that ruin our sleep!!😂😂
Other sources say you should drink before going to sleep...
Go through topic perfectionism and how to overcome it with education and good habits..Greetings
